Quiet, easy to park up. Start of a hike so just a few spaces. very peaceful

lots of parking, disabled bays too, busy on weekends in the day so getting there in the evening is ideal, by thr side of the road but not noisy or busy.

  • 5/5

Great spot very peaceful not much traffic with amazing view’s definitely recommend & will be back

Didn’t stay the night here but stopped for a morning coffee and to enjoy the view. Lots of campers along the road so might try a night there soon. Very peaceful spot with absolutely stunning views.

The Roaches is absolutely stunning and rhe views are incredible. loads of parking all along this road. I parked further up which was on a slight incline. only four stars as you are parked on the main road to roaches and don't have any room on either side of the van. Can also get busy as it's a very popular spot. Still had a great night's sleep and had great views. I would definitely recommend

Good spot. No litter about so let’s keep it that way by taking home any rubbish. Had full signal on O2.

Got here late Friday night and plenty of spaces. Other friendly campers. Amazing views for miles. Really quiet throughout the night and felt completely safe. We’d definitely stay again.

Good parking to do the walks , hens cloud , Rouches , luds church , keep it clean .

Great view, quiet overnight - stayed 9pm to 11am and only a dozen vehicles passed me (I think walkers were kept away by the weather), fabulous walks.

  • 5/5

We parked here for the day whilst walking the Roaches and Luds Church, however it would also be a fantastic overnight spot. Really nice quiet road with lots of parking spaces all the way up the road.

brilliant stop over but drive further up the hill to the single house and plenty of parking near the top of a dead end. from Saturday 8pm to Sunday 7am I heard 2 vehicles. plenty of vans here all friendly. amazing views over the valley. 10 miles to thors cave. great night's sleep. great location.

The long lay-bys can be full with walkers' cars during the day but empty in the evening. Some areas are level. Great views and peaceful - no 11pm boy racers. Multiple fabulous walks too, plus a day time tea rooms nearby (with grumpy staff to put you off, but useful for toilets).

Parked here last night, super peaceful and only 2 cars went by all night. Lots of space! Go slow up the road as it's a bit windy but well worth it. As others said the view in the morning is lovely. Will absolutely be back!

Got there around 10pm on a Monday night in November. Only one Van when we got there. It was extremely windy and pissing down, but the walls on one side helped heaps. Off the main road so very queit. Come sunrise, wow, so picturesque. Spaces were filled up 3/4 way with dog walkers and trekkers. Would definitely recommend whatever the weather.

Great view! Quiet lane, plenty of spaces when we arrived in the evening, does get busy at weekends.

  • 5/5

Great park up. Lots of spaces. Quite narrow. Lovely view and some cute friendly donkeys to stroke in the field.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Very quiet and lots of spaces. Several lay-bys down the long road. Lovely views and some very friendly donkeys!!

A fabulous spot with great views and little or no traffic at all overnight - we will be back!

  • 5/5

Beautiful view. Busy on a fine Spring day but lots of spaces after 4pm ready for a morning hike the next day. No noticeable overnight traffic.

  • 4/5

Love parking here. Been a good few times. Only once had youths throw a fire cracker under van.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, small layby with space for 5 or so campers. We arrived late but had no issue parking. Quiet at night but climbers and hikers arrive from 8am onwards. Although, it still wasn't too noisy. Lovely views and a great hiking spot.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Our first of the trip. Arrived at midnight, plenty of space. Much busier now with cars at 9am. Sporadic traffic. Gorgeous views.

  • 5/5

Nice spot with good views. Fairly flat and quiet

  • 5/5

Incredible spot. Great views and peaceful. I recommend parking right at the top (just before the turning area, after the small house). Full 4G on EE.

  • 5/5

One of my favourite places to park up . Just had two nights on there and always pass each week

  • 4/5

Really nice spot. Side door does open into the main road but the view is great. Not many cars passed so far. Been here 3 hours. Flat ground, great walks along the ridge towards luds church. Lovely to fall asleep to sound of the sheep in the neighbouring fields. Would be 5 star if the lay-by was a bit wider.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. No issues at all and very quiet. Lovely for a morning walk up the hill to watch the sun rise.

  • 3/5

Great place to spend the night there are a couple of places that are flat on the hill but plenty flat spots lower down the hill. Great walks.

  • 5/5

Great spot with stunning views, safe quiet parking

  • 4/5

Lovely quiet location for overnight with nice views and walking. There were some temporary No Through Road signs in the village of Upper Hulme to get here (Roaches parking divert?), but I drove past them so it might be better to come from other direction.
