Popped into Machynlleth today and parked here. Toilets closed until further notice due to vandalism. Nearest toilets are in the library or leisure centre but limited by their opening hours.

  • 3/5

Free after 6pm until 8am. Flat carpark, quiet with plenty of space. Close to centre of town.

  • 4/5

Malheureusement, les toilettes sont condamnées. En plein coeur de la ville, plein de commerces pour compenser. Endroit calme quand il n'y a aucun événement au stade de rugby, si on lit le commentaire du 06/08/2023.

Great to be welcomed by Powys council, but staying on a Sat night the noise from the rugby club was awful. Extremely loud music until 1:30 am then drunk people screaming, shouting and carrying on. Toilets were locked. Unlikely to return, at least not on a weekend.

Stayed the night. A couple of other motor homes present also. As said a few lorries leave early in the morning. Very considerate drivers though. Big plus you are in the centre of town with shops and eateries in abundance. Wednesday is market day in the town. Great place to stay and wander around the town. Very quiet, no bother. Thank you to the council for welcoming motorhomes.

Nuit très calme . Magasin à proximité et non loin un petit champ avec énormément de moutons

  • 4/5

Toilets are shut with a notice to use the ones at a nearby library. Don't know for how long. Apart from that superb, very quiet. the lorries leaving at 5.30am woke me but apart from that no issues. Would return.

  • 5/5

A pretty town to spend an evening and night. Local restaurants and pubs very close to this large, flat car park, where motor homes are welcome. There are nice walks within a couple of miles. Free overnight until 8 am.

  • 5/5

Quiet night, nothing exciting happened even though it was a Saturday. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to Powys County Council for their hospitality.

  • 5/5

Free from 6pm onwards. Plenty of spaces, 24hr toilet which is rare! Isn't the cleanest but its a rare commodity! Very quiet and flat and close to town that has everything you need. Good base camp for exploring mid Wales!

  • 5/5

We spent a quite night here. We didn’t have any issues with the noise but it was a rainy night on late November. There were other vans parked there as well. Free to park this time of the year.

  • 5/5

The good thing with Powys is that council run car parks allow campervans and motorhomes to overnight for free or a small charge. I regularly use this carpark as a stop off when visiting north wales. The car park can get a bit busy and noisy at the weekend with boy racers but they usually disappear after a while. Some great pubs close by serving good food and there is a coop supermarket nearby too

stayed on 20/05/22. Noise from youngsters revving cars and shouting till around 1am, no donuts or wheel spinning though... then went dead qiuet for rest of the night. Will stay again on way back through.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, there were a number of campervans and a large lorry. I arrived late and all was quiet until kicking out time for the pubs, it was then quite noisy but it all quietened down after about 1am, after that it was very peaceful. Free overnight. The 24 hour toilet was not great, glad I had my own with me.

  • 5/5

Excellent night's sleep. 6 vans/campers/motorhomes. 1 articulated lorry. 3 cars pulled in and parked late evening. chatted for a while then drove off, quietly. So no boy racers. Free overnight. £2 for an hour after 8am if over 3t. Spar and shops just around the corner.

  • 4/5

Parked up for the day to walk coast path to Aberdyfi. Pleased to find out that no overnight charges now apply just have to pay for the day which cost us £8 as we are over 4.5 ton motorhome. Very quiet here and nice market in Wednesday’s.

  • 4/5

Stayed here on a Wednesday night and yes the youths were doing donuts at around 10pm playing crap music but they soon got bored and left. It's free, there's pubs and a takeaway a couple of minutes walk away and a 24hr toilet. Bring ear plugs, you can hear the bin etc but park at the back towards the brown leisure centre sign. Fine for a free stop over.

  • 1/5

If you’re happy with youths spinning doughnuts around your camper late at night to make up for their small endowments then lorry drivers loading up early in in the morning then this is the place for you! Tried to pay in the machine, which took my money and never issued a ticket, obviously the machine is as neglected as the forlorn little town it sits in. Ok as an emergency stopover but otherwise I’d just keep on driving through.

  • 3/5

Stayed here tonight(friday night).kids yelling and screaming at 1.30am and playing crap music....i was up having a beer so didnt mind but there are 3 other vans here who probably didnt think the same...on the plus side, its right in the town centre and 24hr toilets with recycling facilities...plus leisure centre a short walk for £2.50 shower...4g signal good as well...

  • 5/5

It's a car park. But that's what we were looking for, large area lots of parking space a sign saying yes you can park and it's free! Not a great view compared to the other stops we had but we slept knowing nobody would like to see us moved on. Pubs, shops, toilets, takeaways and a great butchers worth giving up the view for one night.

  • 4/5

Large car park. arrived at 6pm so free overnight parking. made use of nearby pub and chip shop. pretty quiet night. few trucks do come in to swop over trailers but not to disturbing. pay from 8am onwards.

  • 3/5

Arrived after 10 only 2 other van, quite night until a large fuel tanker arrived at 2.30 followed by the bin men emptying the carpark bins at 4.30, not for you if you are a light sleeper.

  • 3/5

Stayed here 30th December lovely and quiet arrived later so didn’t have to pay parking only had to pay in the morning, there was toilets just outside the car park was closed under maintenance unfortunately but definitely a good place to stop

  • 5/5

We stayed Dec 19, our van under 3t. Free overnight and £4 in day (for parking over 4 hrs so effectively all day). Over 3t was free overnight and £8 in day. Fees are from 8am to 6pm. Street parking very limited so this car park was great. Toilets on entrance 20p. Very short walk to town/pubs!

  • 5/5

Excellent place to spend a quiet night. We like to stay on Tuesday night as there is a very good street market on Wednesday. Good usable toilets nearby and a leisure centre should you fancy a swim. Powys is the most Motorhome friendly county in UK as you can stay overnight on all car parks.

  • 5/5

Super view of the hills. Leisure centre next door open at 730 for a swim!

  • 1/5

Unfortunately this has turned into a bit of a lorry parking lot - 9pm and we're surrounded by 7 big lorries, who in all likelihood will leave in the wee hours of the morning.

  • 4/5

Motorhomes okay for one night in seven. Free after 18.00hrs. Large car park, hard standing, level, felt safe with two other Motorhomes and grain transporter lorry. Quiet/Peaceful night.
