You can't beat waking up on the bonnie banks for £4.00. I mostly booked for the guarantee of a park up on a Saturday so I was disappointed to see bays weren't sectioned off or marked reserved. I could see that being an issue during the busy summer period. The parking area is next to the main car park where the is a cafe and toilets.

I booked for 2 nights but wish I’d only booked 1. Nothing about this place is set up for motorhome. No proper bin, no drinking water, no dump point and toilets close at 5. All in all it was just a glorified lay-by. The roads in are really narrow without any passing areas, so can be scary. We drove around for 2 hours trying to find water. Not even the caravan park would let us fill up. Skip

Clean, well maintained and laid out, if you're lucky, you may even have a view of the lake! I ended up staying 3 nights this week, travelling out during the day. If you leave the van parked all day you have to pay an additional £4 on top of the Camping Permit Fee of £4.20. Very quiet at this time of year, only one other van shared the space with me one night. Well done Lomond NP.

  • 4/5

Easy to find, good sized spaces, card payment at machine. Toilets adjacent at visitor centre closed overnight. Nice view of the Loch from some spots. Plenty of spaces, only 3 Campers when we were there in October half term. Road noise noticeable when awake but not enough to bother light sleepers as set back a bit from the road.

  • 4/5

Brilliant place to stay if you fancy treating yourself to a pub tea! The staff are so lovely and happy to fill your water etc. The only downside is the traffic noise during the night.

  • 4/5

Outstanding views. easy to get into with a 7m van anything longer, and you will need to park long ways across several bays, but there should be plenty of room. Road noise every few minutes until about 2359hrs, then quiet until 0450hrs. Short dog walk around the place but easy for them and us to get into water and pretty shallow until you get 20m from shore.

  • 4/5

Prix: £4

lovely lovely place, got the loch ferry rides, little cafe, ladies are fabulous, staying one night, toilets, plenty places for van, Loch views beautiful..

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Very nice place to stay for the night. Only one other motorhome, quite a few cars, but they all left in the evening. Toilet block nearby, very quiet and close to Loch Lomond. Great nights sleep.

  • 3/5

Disappointed with this. Arrived at 1500 and there were cars parked in motorhome spot (info says you can arrive from 1300 but then on ticket machine it says you need to pay up until 1800 so conflicting info). Although there were only 4 motorhome bays there was somehow 6 staying and nobody came and checked permits. It was also extremely noisy being right next to A82 not worth £4 in our opinion.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, very quiet and motorhome spots clearly marked. Toilets available in the carpark. Permit to be booked in advance and cannot be booked on day of arrival.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot for an overnight stay.

  • 5/5

Good spot, no permit needed in winter

  • 4/5

From 1 Oct to 28th Feb Permits are not required. See web page for details.

  • 4/5

Wunderschön am See gelegen, tolles Panorama.

  • 5/5

A lovely quite spot for a nights stopover with great views of Loch Lomond. Need to buy a permit in advance but was only £4. There are toilet facilities available which close at around 8pm.

  • 4/5

It is imposible to purchase a pass on the same day. Arived 9:30pm lots of avaiable space, but the website sad no spot awaiable. So I have to drive away.

  • 4/5

Tried to purchase a pass but couldn’t finalize on web site as it said no spots available despite spaces available. Parked one night and plenty of other vans joined us. Pleasant area. Toilets closed at night which was a shame. Touristy parking area beside which filled with buses next morning. A lovely outlook if you go for a stroll around. Considering it was free all in all a good place for a night

  • 4/5

permit needed, book in advance £4, only 4 issued, per night. Although many here without permit. Nice location next to loch, some road noise until around 10pm. Now 24 HR toilets.

  • 1/5

  • 5/5

Stayed here for the night, we got a permit online and parked up, right on the banks of Loch Lomond fantastic spot. It got busier during the evening, but still no issues. Fantastic view point from the pyramid over Loch Lomond. Well worth the money....

  • 4/5

Nice stopover spot, four other vans here also but not cramped. Next to a busy road but not noisy. No drinking water or other facilities available at the moment. Right next to the Loch, in better weather we may have made more use of the surrounding walls.

  • 5/5

Absolutely beautiful location right on the edge of the lake. Room for about 10 vans, but unfortunately they only give out 4 permits per day during the wild camping hiatus period. I took my chances going without and it was fine.

  • 5/5

Great location only £3 with permit, search online. Toilets only problem, website says only open 9 to 5. However there were portloo toilets when we went mid Sept. Went for something to eat at the Dover Inn, standard pub fair but tasty all the same. There are a number of spot near by where its free to park if you have a meal.

  • 5/5

Lovely big car park and right onto the Loch with all its little pebble beaches. we couldn't get a permit online as it said there was no availability? But we risked it anyway and didn't get a ticket, the car park wasn't at all busy at night. Slept really well.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night. Parking in the permit area was easy and we had a very quiet night, with 2 other vans. Booking the permit was easy process. The indoor toilets were locked overnight but there was one toilet to the side of car park that was open all night which was handy. Only warning would be to be prepared for midges.

  • 3/5

We arrived at 8pm, a lovely spot only one other campervan but couldn't get a permit online as was fully booked? decided not to risk it and went to car park back down the road instead. nice spot if you can get a permit, lots of midge's though.

  • 5/5

Amazing place to stay. has a toilet open all night when I stayed over night.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, you need a £3 permit bought in advance but went online to purchase and didn’t work... right by the Koch- there’s short and long stay parking. Peaceful and picturesque

  • 4/5

Nice stop, quiet a bit road noise with lorries up and down the busy road but other than that nice place to stop off, £3 permit bargain! Toilets open during the day.

  • 1/5

Tried to stop here on 3/10/20 but it had a barrier across. Not sure how permanent this is.

  • 5/5

A great night stay last night just us plus one other van in the car park. A little bit of road noise but nothing major had a really comfortable quiet night. Ate at The Drovers up the road a fun, interesting pub good food plus plenty of Whisky! Rained all night for us but right near to waters edge if weather drier we would have walked down to shoreline. Loch Cruises available from other car park if wanted. Great stop hope to visit again one day!

  • 3/5

  • 3/5

Handy rest spot for toilets and a view. Next to busy road

  • 5/5

  • 3/5

Only 4 places for campervans /motorhomes. Very close to the busy A82, but a lovely spot.

  • 5/5

Great location - Just grab a permit online. Clean toilet block nearby too - and a great viewpoint. Your own little beach on the Loch. We'll return here again later in the week!
