Great views all around, valleys one side, peaks to the other. Lots of vehicles but all respectable and relatively quiet. It got lively in the morning when hiking parties turned up but all to be expected in such a nice spot. Ground was level and lots of space. Visited in October.

Stayed here last night! Amazing spot even in the wind and rain! Arrived late afternoon and it was soon full. A very windy night but not a problem for me. 4am neighbour had to take their roof tent down on the storm and sleep in the car.. so maybe roof tents not advisable up there in the wind. Satnav took me the back way on single tracks (mud in the middle)- not for novice drivers/large vehicles.

Fantastic views across the area with wild horses and sheep running around. What more could you want. No facilities but we did get 4G. We did have an issue with the wind but I suspect that this is usual for this area. Would certainly go back again.

Stunning spot! Can easily fit 10 vans. Good 4G. Wild camping so don’t expect services.

Been using this app for years but this has to be one of my favourite spots ever ! gorgeous sunset ! woke up underneath hay bluff to hike before any cars arrived. Wild horses & sheep to say good morning to. Lovely other people in campers creating a supportive gratefully sense of community. Preeeeetty windy but worth it.

Gorgeous spot...no facilities....wild horses and plenty sheep. Can be very windy but great access to trails

First place overnight, stunning views , open to the elements but luckily it was calm until night time when the wind picked up. Gravel, for space for about 9 vehicles. Lovely hikes - no toilets / bins and the area is flat

Great spot, plenty of parking, places up & down road. Amazing views.

today, there were signs prohibiting camping. such a shame, it would be a great place

  • 5/5

Stopped with the intention of staying but it was gale force winds so retreated to Brecon! Can confirm that there are no signs restricting camper vans, camping, or overnight parking. Just a sign about controlling dogs.

the best spot I've ever stayed at. amazing when good weather, but is exposed for sure. unless your in a panel van id forget it, narrow roads and tight corners on the way up. lots of flat spots, beautiful views and walks, great for sunset and sunrise and best of all - ignore the other reviews because there are most definitely no signs saying you can't camp. enjoy responsibly all!

Lovely quiet spot to park and sleep with plenty of room. We didn’t park on the car park, just along from there as there’s a few patches of flat-ish grass areas here and there. Also had an ice cream van park in the main car park in the morning so welcomed that treat after packing our roof tent away in the bank holiday heat!

All the car parks along this road now have no over night camping signs up. I managed to stay in a large pull in up the road without any bother though.

Great site, very exposed, we had a restless night on the 23rd when we stayed. Challenging access up from Hay on Wye in a larger vehicle, ours is 2.5 by 7.5 and you need to be confident when reversing, and try to come later to avoid dog walkers / day trippers if you can. I am not sure why people are saying no camping signs, we walked round the car park and couldn't see any!

Loved it here, gorgeous view and woke up to horses and sheep! Roads are pretty narrow to get here we are in a people carrier/ camper but there were some larger vans than ours that were there. Lots of people staying there overnight, no issues at all. Lots of poo on the floor though lol but nice walks and beautiful views!

No camping signs but we stayed overnight and so did 3 other vehicles, no bother. Open to the elements but amazing views. Wild ponies just up the road and good walks in the hills nearby. As others have said, narrow road to get here so may be difficult in larger vans, but the hedgerows had just been cut back when we went, which helped.

Fantastic views and access to walking trails. Road up is very narrow with passing places. Only drive it with bigger motorhomes if you are confident. 7.5m possible but problematic meeting traffic coming other way.

  • 3/5

Beautiful place however, No overnight camping signs everywhere.

  • 5/5

Fab views, beautiful place to stay the night although very windy so bare that in mind. No wifi - obviously. No bins so please take your litter home. I did a sweep of the area as I left as there was a little litter that had been left. PLEASE take ALL your rubbish with you as littering gives campervan ers a bad name.

Great spot with lovely views, woke up to the camper surrounded by horses. FYI in an area where dogs have to be kept on their leads.

  • 5/5

Extraordinary views, nice and quiet place surrounded by sheep...

First night out doing this ... and we picked a great spot. There was a large truck cum camper already pitched on the grass so we parked on the carpark. It WAS windy, but this stopped fairly abruptly at about 3am and became very calm. The views are just stunning, I suspect we've spoilt ourselves. Took a walk up onto Hay Bluff in the morning and were rewarded with even more fantasatic views.

Great parking spot. Was a bit tight and steep to get here but worth it for the views. Climbed the big hill behind parking to watch the sunset.

Visited here as part of our film locations used for ‘An American Werewolf in London’ the classic 1981 British-American horror comedy film, written and directed by John Landis. It stars David Naughton, Griffin Dunne, and Jenny Agutter. It was here on these mountaintop moors our main protagonists were attacked by the first Werewolf and become a Werewolf themselves. Beware the full moon overnighters!

Amazing view over the valley, however to get there with a motorhome (especially coming from Llanthony) is a big challenge. We also saw people staying over night.
