    unwelcoming. take your money elsewhere

  • 1/5

Signposts on car park entrance restrict camping/overnighting. Very uneven, yet secluded. Height barrier. No good for anything bigger than a Transporter.

Great location, overlooking the beach and castle, quiet away from the road, not suitable for Motorhomes, but VW camper less than 6’2 are fine.

Stayed here before the restrictions back in 2019. It was amazing and quiet. Chanced it last week as there were a few campers/motorhomes in the area and we were only staying a night. We weren't disturbed but can see why the restrictions are up as some people are set up for staying longer than a day or 2.

Signs have gone up regarding no overnight camping. Quite a tenuous situation at this car park (on private land). And we may lose easy access to the beach. The bin isn’t very big and often rubbish is left piled around it, seagulls and wind spread it. I suggest rubbish should be taken home if no room in the bin.

Hight restrictions ect.. it's because of people like martim overstaying there welcome that you have restrictions in place now Thanks for that.

Beautiful view but all the actual car parks both have a 2.1m height restriction so any higher and you just need to try and find a spot on the side of the road. Worth the view if you can find somewhere. Was quite windy. You can turn round at the golf course at the end

8 sept 2020: 8 campervans parked up, one white T5 running a generator and parked on the grass, not the gravel car park. Two motorhomes outside that could not fit under the height barrier. They were parked on the grass verge on the roadside, one with picnic table & chairs out. Its not surprising that locals are concerned. I moved on.

Awesome night sleep, very chilled and beautiful views in the morning.

Stopped here for one night, only camper there so very quiet. Right next to the beach and Bamburgh Castle so good views

  • 5/5

We parked at the one just a few metres up the road but it has the same height barrier and is just as close to the beach, you will pass it first if approaching from Bamburgh. Great spot, very pretty. One other guy in a tent and another van turned up overnight. Lots of dog walkers/surfers about but a quiet good nights sleep. Five minute walk to Bamburgh with good pub and toilet facilities.

Great spot overlooking sea and castle. Busy in day but no other vans overnight , very quiet. No signs. If there was a big swell coming in it might get busy with surfers as it’s a big surf beach.

Wow, what a beautiful place to park. Stayed 4 nights with no problems at all!! To find it, it's a little road opposite the ice-cream shop, called The Wyndings It does get busy during the day on weekends, so might be better to turn up early morning or after 8pm on a night. Very peaceful nights sleep. See pics

Superb stop with a sea view. No gates to be locked, dog walkers in and out but had a silent nights sleep. Will be using again, perfect sunset in view with a 30second walk onto the beach.

Ideal place to camp, and for free! Walking distance to village for pub and grub. Right on the beach front means waking up to the crashing of the waves, beautiful!

Perfect and quiet night, but please pick up your litter!

  • 5/5

Amazing views of the castle and beach. Local people go for a walk in the mornings but don't bother you. 2.1m height restriction.

The wynding, great spot, lots of campers parked up, super view, toilets only a 5 min walk in to Bamburgh, opposite the pub,

Lovely spot, but very crowded. I noticed a car park further up the road that looked empty. It was a Friday night though.

  • 4/5

Great view of the castle, overlooking the sea. Very quiet at night. 10 Minute walk into Bamburgh. No bins available. Quite windy. No restriction signs.

  • 4/5

You can't fault this location for views! Right overlooking the dunes, the Castle, the sea and the Farne Islands. The car park is buddy during the day, but by 9pm empty apart from us. Closest toilet is in the village about 1k walk, but are spotlessly clean. No bins, so please take your rubbish with you. Don't miss a walk into the village, via the Cricket pitch for an evening drink in the cosy pubs.

Ignore our previous comment. Google maps initially took us to beach car park. Drive on a little way and there is the correct car park with no overnight restrictions. Lovely and quiet and Brilliant views - sea in front of you and Bamburgh castle to the side. Nice flat gravel. The main beach car park, walking distance down the road, has a food hut selling coffees, breakfasts and cakes!

Lovely quiet beachside park. lovely views of the castle and the coast. ideal for doggies who love the beach.
