Une partie de l'essai Forestry and Land Scotland Stay the Night 2022. Super petit endroit directement sur un petit ruisseau, très calme, sur le chemin de la route des Raiders, on dirait que l'endroit et le petit chemin vers le ruisseau ont été nouvellement aménagés, près le Staumauer du trou Clatteringsshaws.

Open for Stay the Night from 1st April - 31st October 2023. £7 per night stay. Part of the Forestry and Land Scotland Stay the Night trial 2022.
Great little place directly on a small brook, very quiet, on the way of the Raiders Road, looks as if the place and the small path to the brook was newly arranged, near the Staumauer of the Clatteringsshaws hole.

Teil der Forestry and Land Scotland Stay the Night Trial 2022.

Free during the day and then £7 using app to stay overnight as the trial scheme is extended until end October 2024. Quiet and secluded. NB although the Raiders Road is closed to vehicles during the winter, the entrance to this carpark is before the barrier so it's fine to park and sleep here. Great if you want to cycle to the Otters Pool (we walked it and it was a bit of a slog).

Great access to the river for paddling. £7 overnight. Quiet spot. Fairly level. Deer park nearby is good.

  • 5/5

Great little spot just enough away fromt he road so as not to be bothered by passing traffic .. not that there was much of it bar the odd van and tractor in the early morning.

Great quiet spot. lovely woodland setting with a shallow brook by the side. perfect for the dog. free overnight parking currently with the stay the night scheme. not very flat so likely to need blocks but we parked on the left tucked in and was almost level. one other van on the site.

Absolutely love this spot we've been here so many times over the years and it's one of my favs! the river makes for good fun as a water slide haha!!

There is a lovely path down to the riverside. The only problems are that overnight camping is limited and that there is a real midge problem!

  • 5/5

stayed 1 night, so peaceful. one other van with us. no amenities. unspoilt woodland and walk to river.

Stayed here last night. Really quiet. One other van here. right next to the stream and Loch, the dog lived it too. The raiders road is quite bumpy but worth it to get here. Road owned by forestry commission, cost is £3 to drive along it, pay at machine at start of Raiders road.

Very quite here at the moment for a Friday, but I'm sure it will get busy later. Great spot, even took the motorhome down to otter pool, great walks in the area.

Great location. Was here at the end of October so freezing cold but no midges and no people. Great place to see the stars at night.

  • 3/5

Was quiet and right near a nice quiet river. Only can there so very peaceful. No midges and a picnic table to use also. Good spot.

  • 4/5

Nice little stopover. There were some men fishing when we arrived who also stopped over the night. Be wary that post code will not bring you here- use a map.

Dieser Parkplatz war schön, kein Problem bei der Übernachtung mit midges. Von dort aus führt kein besonderer wander weg weg. internett war gut aber Empfang zum telefonieren sehr schlecht

  • 3/5

Lovely spot but very bad location for midges. Must've had hundreds sneaking through the air vents. Lovely Brook and walks around, nearby loch is very calm and has beautiful mountains in the background.

Stay over the bank holiday weekend. There were 2/3 other vans but plenty of room for all. The stream is a lovely feature especially for the dogs. Midgies are abundent though as it is a sheltered spot.
