Belle place libre au sommet d'une carrière d'argile désaffectée surplombant la baie de St Austell et les terres, c'est une montée raide sur une route de gravier, mais ça vaut vraiment le coup pour la vue.

Caerloggas Downs. Beautiful free spot on top of a disused clay barrow over looking st austell bay and down land. No facilities and it's a steep climb up a gravel road but well worth it for the views.

Small car park on left says no overnight stays but if you keep driving to the very top there’s a larger car park with no signs stating anything. Beautiful, quiet spot with brilliant views and a nice walk. No facilities but worth the slightly bumpy drive up!

breathtaking views for miles to the coast and inland, lovely dog walking spot our girls loved it. we were the only ones there overnight. lots of dog walkers cars come and go. sunset was beautiful so peaceful

  • 5/5

Adventurous drive up however the views are worth the new wheel bearings :) the noelsons x

Gate with barbed wire across entrance. No unauthorised entry signs everywhere. Why are there no dates on feedback? Another waste of time, that’s three on the trot.

  • 4/5

a great spot with plenty of space, some dog walkers in the morning. the road to go there is in a bad state and and I don't recommend to go there if you have a MH

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot to stay the night. There was a sign saying no over night camping but it didn’t look very enforceable. We were the only ones there. It is a very steep and rutted road but well worth it

Overnight parking not allowed, I had a visit from the patrol car at about 9pm, and the guy let me stay for one night, but there's no guarantee it will be the same outcome for everyone. Road up to the site insanely bumpy, probably not for every car.

Sign saying no overnight parking as of may 2021, but it’s quite a drive and walk up so I can’t imagine it’s a big deal. Nice views. Early dog walkers. A bit of litter - so bring some tongs if you can and help keep it clean.

Regularly park here and is our favourite spot down south, breathtaking views both during the day and at night, would definitely recommend staying here, the road up is treacherous but well worth the journey up, clean up after yourself as there’s clearly a problem with people not doing so. Currently no signs so let’s keep it that way!

Uneven Road leading up to the carpark at the top but we made it up fine in a Transporter. Great views from the top but quite windy in bad weather. Popular with locals to come up and sit in their cars but noone was around late. We stayed on a Tuesday and had a quiet bights sleep.

St Austell is my home town. When I split with my girlfriend I stayed up here in my van for around a month. Locals are very friendly, the boy racers are just having a smoke, they won't bother you. Enjoy the views and welcome to Cornwall. Please be respectful, don't forget we live here all the time, leave only footprints and stay safe.

Great views, steep hill and friendly locals.

Really nice spot. Unfortunately there looks like a new sign as you drive in saying not overnight camping

  • 4/5

Nice place, good view, very windy, we had one local dog Walker say we shouldn't camp there but apart from that no trouble

  • 5/5

Great spot entrance is on the main road not where sat nav takes u very steep drive my Ducato fwd went up fine great views very quiet only dog walkers around.

    Great views, good reception.

Teilweise dicht an unserem Bulli. Da wir keine Lust auf Schäden an unserem Bulli haben und eine ruhige Nacht verbringen wollten sind wir weg gefahren. schade

Très bel endroit, superbe point de vue en hauteur. Endroit assez isolé et pas facile d’accès

  • 4/5

Few dog walkers throughout the late afternoon, the road is narrow and steep with many pot holes but we managed just fine in our Campervan. It was perfect for the night, we would stay again! Just note there are no facilities nearby!

Stayed here one night over Easter weekend. Drive up was bumpy but not too bad. No other campers there but was a few boys in cars. They didn't disturb us and didn't stay too late.

Big car park with lots of spaces and great views of the surrounding area, stayed two nights, no wind protection but great area to stay. No problem driving there, the road seems to have been redone.

Amazing views! But the track up there is a bit terrifying! Coming down felt like driving on ice as the vehicle just slid down & I had little control. I was in a motorhome. Also, a ranger came up at around 7pm & advised us no overnight parking. April 2019.

Fantastic spot! But don’t follow the satnav link it ends in someone’s very tight yard.

We've been stopping here for years as we love the spot, and it's very convenient for Eden Project. Views are great, and it's very quiet, so worth putting up with a bit of wind. I have a Sprinter 412D with 7.5m coachbuilt body, and I have no trouble whatever driving up.

  • 3/5

Would rate it higher but as you near the top the road is very uneven and caused my wheels to skid quite often. A place to avoid if you are precious about your vehicle ! Shame as it is a wonderful view

  • 5/5

Amazing place one of my best wild camp spots. very secluded couple off dog walkers but no issue. loose gravel pole hole road and very steep but I can't see it being a issue for any vehicle unless very lowered my old slow heavy Iveco made in no problems.

  • 3/5

Beautiful location and views. It is very difficult to reach the top, it took my VW Transporter 3 attempts and only made it on the third because I had a good run up to it. Anything larger without all wheel drive won't make it. Cars should be fine. Very isolated location as a lone camper felt a bit on edge, during the night had 1 pair of sightseers and also a police car on patrol. Would stay again with company probably not on my own.

Inaccessible now due to track being washed away. April 2018

  • 4/5

Views reaching towards Devon and across the coast, beware of no shelter so be wary when very windy, the track is steep and loose stone as it was a tip for the local China clay industry our vw van made it up easily enough but think you would struggle with a front wheel drive coach built/motorhome, very quiet location only visited by local dog walkers
