Stayed last week. great spot. no Hungry Hagis, no wc, and no charge. Nice and flat. we were the only van there. Nice quiet peaceful night.

A place we often stop off at on the way back from Oban. St Conan's Kirk nearby is a must-see. Good signal on 3 network.

  • 1/5

I am a pensioner on a (half minimum wage) state pension and certainly don't feel the desire to subsidise daytime parking for car drivers. Stopped for a cuppa late afternoon and moved on.

  • 2/5

£10 a night and nothing provided in return. I don’t mind a charge to stay, but there needs to be at least some form of service provided. Even just water and recycling bins.

  • 2/5

I used to stay here when it was free with no services. Now its £10 and no services, not even a bin, let alone toilets. Staff at the shop and food stall had faces like thunder, 'don't do this' signs everywhere. Castle has been fenced off for over 3 years now. Doesn't feel like the same place as many other positive comments point to!

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Very quiet, had a great sleep, Just payed the guy at the hungry haggis

  • 4/5

Stayed for one night/ no one around to take our £10 - had a good night sleep - shame the hungry haggis wasn’t open .

  • 5/5

A perfect spot for a stopover. Owner extremely friendly and chilled. Views and ruined castle spectacular. Hungry Haggis cafe is a must, good food and good value. Would definitely use again without hesitation.

  • 5/5

Great little place and friendly staff and portaloos open 24 hrs and they have a snack bar open from 9 am to 5 pm , what’s not to like , free day parking and £10 for over night parking cars and camper vans

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

We stopped here just for one night. The “Hungry Haggis” burger van was an added bonus! It’s open from about 9am until about 5pm and has a reasonably priced menu. The road noise was not bad and the occasional passing train didn’t make too much noise. A walk to the ruins of Kilchurn Castle takes just a few minutes but it is fenced off at the moment due to ongoing works.

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Superb parkup. Flat, graveled and spacious. Short walk (800 m) to the Kilchurn castle ruin. Food truck at one corner of the parking. Toilets on site, but never use. Located next to a railway track and a quite busy road, so it won’t be quiet. Cellphone reception excellent! Beary pleased with my stay.

  • 5/5

A perfect place for one night before an early ferry, there are portaloos on site. We made the mistake of eating before but there was a small food van (the hungry haggis) which would be good to support. A lovely quiet night.

  • 5/5

Great stop! Totally free! Lots of spaces, Hungry haggis burger van, 2 clean porta loo's open 24hrs, beautiful views and lovely walk down past the castle, stopped for the night on route to Oban

  • 2/5

Toilets have gone, assume they are only here for peak season. Big flat area, but sandwiched between the main road and a railway line, so not the most peaceful place to stop, wouldn't bother stopping here unless you are desperate.

  • 5/5

Heerlijk rustige plek.

  • 5/5

Great spot just off the A85, but despite that and being close to the train line a vet peaceful spot. Lots of space for vans and gorgeous views of the hills around. 2 immaculately clean portaloos. Easy access to Lochawe a few minutes walk away, we launched our paddleboards from here and was easy access. There is currently (Sept 2022) a sign that there may be Blue-Green Algae in the loch.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Massive, room for 15 plus camper vans including large ones ! 2 loos - no paper so bring your own ! good phone signal !

  • 4/5

Great no fuss, stop over. We stayed one night passing through to Oban ferry.

  • 4/5

Totalmente recomendable.

  • 5/5

yep large free car park, great stop off before oban

  • 4/5

A faire …

  • 5/5

    Great park for Night.

  • 5/5

Great park for Night. Free and flat with a good Phone Signal. Two toilets and picnic tables. Great views and quiet considering proximity to road. Highly recommended.

  • 3/5

Large car park. Nice and flat. Two portaloos. No facilities. EE signal poor. Next to main road. Castle closed for repairs for the future.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Very nice stopover with a large parking area, a ruined castle and Highland cows.... Very quiet overnight.

  • 5/5

Stayed here without any issues. No train noise between 9pm and 9am. Toilets very clean!

  • 4/5

Really easy parking & plenty of space. Flat. 1km walk to castle. Two clean portaloos (no paper) if needed. Not the prettiest stop but stunning scenery all round and with a big camper no chance of getting stuck/ trapped. Lots of others staying too. Quiet at night occasional passing car.

  • 3/5

Basic large carpark, still no charge after work being done. Gift shop and pet cows under bridge. Path all the way to the Castle which you can walk around. Nice views.

  • 3/5

Kein besonders unangenehmer Geruch.

  • 4/5

Flat, some road/rail noise but not much.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Unmarked turning lies between the bridge and the A819 junction. Flat surface but currently covered with large loose rocks. Apart from the odd train, they are all seemingly required to sound a horn as they go by, it was pretty peaceful overnight.

  • 3/5

We thought this was a great spot with a lovely view and walk to the castle. The night was peaceful until about 2am where work started on the car park, would try to avoid on a weekday.

  • 4/5

Large stoned car park, being improved. Quiet at night. Good path to castle ruin, and Loch Awe side. Kayaks can be launched under railway bridge/walkway.

  • 5/5

works underway to large parking area, great nights sleep, the odd train passing but quiet location not far from road, access to castle under green bridge.

  • 5/5

I stayed here for three nights in August 2019 without any problems. The couple running the catering van were very friendly.

  • 4/5

Le parking est en cours d’aménagement. Payant à l’avenir ?

  • 5/5
