Amazing spot amongst giant hills at the bottom of a waterfall. Nice trails and next to a lovely stream. Good 4G

  • 5/5

Great spot. Good 4G on EE (enough for zoom calls)

  • 4/5

Good location, nice walks. The small parking is more level. £3 parking fee unless NTS member

  • 5/5

Beautiful place. We parked in the bigger car park which was slightly sloping. Ticket machine seemed to work fine. Not sure how you get free parking as a NT member so just paid the £3 anyway. No problem parking our 7.4m van. Car park is for a 5 mile hike (it says it takes 2-3hrs). There is a shorter walk the other side that takes 15mins or so.

Stayed here for one night. along with 2 others. Good EE signal. The waterfalls and Loch hike is worth it. £3 parking for all day. Heard some people saying noone checks and some didn't pay. (ticket machine was a bit temperamental too) but in the morning a NTS worker turned up so glad I payed. Nice and quiet. slept well. Sheep roaming around.

Wunderbarer Ort, tolle Natur, schöne Wanderungen möglich. Prima für eine Nacht. Kartenzahlung möglich.

  • 4/5

Endroit incroyable. Paysage magnifique. Nuit calme

  • 5/5

Amazing location with a great short walk upto the waterfall and loch.

  • 4/5

Prachtige plek met waanzinnig mooie wandeling. Enige nadeel is dat er bijna geen rechte plekken te vinden zijn dus je rolt wellicht je bed uit. Schapen lopen rond je camper en er rijden af en toe auto’s voorbij.

  • 4/5

Great flat spots. Very busy though.

  • 4/5

Good place to stop for a night. No toilet, however there is a bin. A bit out of the way from anything really but a nice walk up to the lake. There is a £3 charge but from reading other reviews it looks like the machine is often broken. There were 2 other vans when we got there, however the next morning the car park was full with people going walking to the lake so don’t arrive too early.

Very quiet night spent here but then it is December..lol,only van here.paid at the machine..

  • 5/5

Quiet stay for the night, often a few vans here. Scenic route.

  • 5/5

Quiet nice place to park for the night. Felt very safe. There’s a wheelie bin for waste. Lovely walk up Gray Mare’s Tail to the Loch. We went for a walk first thing and when we came down late morning it was really busy with walkers and cars.

  • 5/5

Quiet with stunning views and easy walk to waterfall, a small loch at top to have a dip in. No other vans except us, just a couple of cars that left after walkers returned around 9pm.

  • 4/5

Really nice spot and like previous comments say if you get there later in day it's very quiet. you need cash if you want to pay.... some people parked and camped on the road side to avoid this. the waterfall and walks are stunning. traffic starts early including a lot of logging trucks so if you like a lie in this may not be for you!

  • 5/5

Safe and quiet. Busy until about 430pm when walkers head home. Road clean be busy too but quietens down in the evening and overnight. Lovely walk/climb up to Loch Skene too for added views. Good 4G coverage (EE and Vodafone) but no facilities at all.

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. Nothing but nature and great walks.

  • 4/5

Car parking meter not in use when e started, the smaller car park over the bridge seems more level. Great place to climb up the waterfall walk, or just to relax. Busy during the day but quiet at night (except for midges). There were a few other vans there the night we stayed, but no bins or services, so please leave it as clean as you would expect to find it.

  • 5/5

    Beautiful spot, quiet night

  • 5/5

Best place to park over night if you’re wanting to visit Gery mare’s trail early in the morning. Really flat car park. £3 to park or free to national trust members. There is also a donation box. To be honest, If you’re parking over night only I don’t think any would notice if you didn’t pay the £3 as there is no one around, you could just leave a small donation instead. Parking is free to Scotland national trust and national trust members. Car park is really nice and flat. The road is quiet. Lovely view for in the morning. For sat nav, we put in the postcode manually and at first it took us to someone’s house. If you use park for night “drive to” button it will take you directly to the car park rather than the general postcode.

Well worth the money, and the only camper here

  • 5/5

What a beautiful spot park ranger was ace told us best place to stay

  • 5/5

Wow... Another great spot... Thank you park4night people for recommending.

  • 5/5

Beautiful location. Lots of space (two smallish car parks) so could accommodate lots of overnighters. Pay and display price is £3, but there is also a donation box if you wish to give more. Five minute walk to the waterfall. We were the only people here as there was heavy rain forecast, but sheltered location meant very little wind. Only saw two dog walkers between 8pm and 9am.

  • 5/5

Lovely drive outside moffat centre, quiet, no hassle to stay overnight, £3 only for duration, can be windy at night, great walks and hill climbs

  • 4/5

La route pour accéder à cette réserve naturelle est splendide ! 3£ pour stationner et y passer la nuit. On part à l'attaque de l'ascension !

  • 5/5

Great spot! River close by, no issues with staying over night - paid parking contribution upon arrival (£3). Brill for exploring too - ran up grey mere, fab!

  • 5/5

Environnement magnifique et très calme (en hiver)

  • 5/5

Parking à 3 £. La route d'accès est très dépaysante avec un très beau paysage et que dire de l'arrivée. Magnifique randonnée sur les Greymare's tail waterfall et un lac d'altitude. Attention ça grimpe au début mais la récompense est là.

  • 5/5

    Très bien et très calme.

  • 5/5

The parking fee is now £3.00. This is National Trust property and home to Peregrine falcons and other very interesting flaura and fauna.

  • 4/5

C'est un super endroit bien calme. Nous avons dormi comme des bébés. la balade jusqu'au lac Skeen est superbe. attention aux Midges. fin août ils sont encore bien présents mais en marchant vite pas de souci.
