I’m here atm. Seemed a quiet road when I arrived late last night but it is fairly busy through the night and found the road noise a bit of a problem. I travel with my dog in a small van and as there are numerous potholes there are also a lot of big puddles which made life harder with a water loving pooch! No-one else here, felt safe, nice and flat. Just a shame about the mass of deep puddles which is not an issue for most ?
Good amount of space to park, lack of stars as to how noisy it was, and we parked up at 12am.
Arrived at around 2am on Monday and there were plenty of spaces available. Very quiet at night, it got fairly busy in the morning with cars and lorries, from around 6am, but it does the job for a quick nap.
Couldn’t fit in this lay-by but there are plenty more just up the road. A nice we rest stop just off the m6
A little late to find a space. Managed to pull up with a truck on another lay-by towards Carlisle.
Does the job. Stepped back from the road enough that the van doesn’t rock when a lorry goes past. Road wasn’t too busy. Stayed the night with 3 other vans.
It's what it says: not sexy but quiet, in the country side, perfect for stop over night on my way to Scotland, easy access from M6
