Single track road up to the lighthouse. Quiet road, though. Had the carpark to ourselves. Very quiet, accept for a few curlews flying overhead, which added to the magic of this place. Cllean and tidy, too. Donated £10. it was well worth it. Around 7:30, the first explorers arrive in their cars. Highly recomend this site.

Really loved this spot. We thought it would be busy but it was just us and one other van. Really quiet, peaceful night and we saw a stunning sunset over the lighthouse. Also the local village of Portmahomack is the sweetest ever with a great beach and free toilets! Thank you!

A lovely, level, free car park with fantastic access to the headland and down to the rocks and sea, as well as amazing views of the lighthouse. There is a pebbled inlet that you can wade into the water. There are no services here. Highly recommended!

Dieser Platz wird von den lokalen Menschen erhalten und gepflegt. Sie arbeiten unentgeltlich. Mr. Trevor von der Gemeinde kam vorbei und erzählte mir, dass die neuen Bänke und Wege nur durch Spenden finanziert werden. Vom Staat bekommen sie 450£ im Jahr. Bitte!!! geben Sie eine Spende. Und hinterlassen Sie keinen Müll damit solche schönen Plätze für uns alle erhalten bleiben.

Self build camper , Great place did not stay over but left a few pounds worth of loose change in donations box we will be back if not spoiled by the irresponsible minority

Excellent free place to stay. Beautiful surroundings and lots of wildlife/birds to see. And beginning of April nice and quiet.

I really enjoyed it peace a bit of peace and quiet, make sure your vans got blinds or no windows, or the lighthouse light could be annoying lol.

Great little spot. Was very windy, but slept great in my micro camper. Quiet and out of the way, the road on the way in is narrow in parts but plenty of passing places. The only light pollution was from one other van and the lighthouse, terrific for stargazing. A short walk to a rocky beach for a dip or to watch the sunrise. A bin and honesty box in situ, please use them.

This is a lovely spot. Very protected, right on the coast. Bins available. However, I wouldn't recommend staying here on a Saturday night as we did. We were kept awake until 1am with random cars parking up for 10 to 60 minutes for no obvious reason.

Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir ce parking pour nous tous seuls en plein mois d'août, quelle tranquillité ! La promenade jusqu'aux falaises est sympathique, et nous avons très bien dormi sous l'œil protecteur du phare.

Nice park up, no facilities apart from a couple of bins, there is an honesty box which is a must if you decide to stay here to help with the local economy. We were visited by a very friendly local councillor named reg who welcomes over night stays and mentioned leaving a contribution which we happily did. Short walk to a beach where we spotted seals bobbing around. We would 100% stay here again

Good walk around the lighthouse and chance to see some wildlife but a bit too windy for me to stay here

Nice quiet spot. Interesting lighthouse and beautiful beach walk nearby. Surrounded by fields, some with cows and lots of birds around. Good 4G on O2 network. Keep clean & tidy as the council have had problems with rubbish being dumped at the site (probably locals). There is a purple donation box near the site entrance.

Amazing spot, I spent one night here along with 3 other vans plenty of room for more spectacular views really quiet and fairly level. Definitely recommend for anyone doing the NC500

Fantastic place for a night’s stay. It’s a long narrow car park but was able to turn a LWB Sprinter. Great walks to the lighthouse and along the coast. Highly recommend.

Level, calm & gorgeous spot. Amazing sunset & sunrise. Great for an awesome hike in the morning. We spotted dolphins,seals and deers. 100% recommended, absolutely stunning.

This was quiet for me in November but can imagine it being popular in summer. Good parking with great views and a bin for rubbish and dog waste. Great spot.

Stopped by on our way north. A stunning lighthouse, walks and views. Great place to stop for a picnic (leave no trace!).. just walk the length of the narrow carpark to the back and there's a grassy plateau with views all along the coast both ways. we didn't stop the night but it looks like it'd be ideal. lots of dog walkers and two fishermen made for great people watching.

Car park for walk to Tarbat Lighthouse. I did manage to turn my 8m bike rack van around (13 point turn!) Tarmac surface end of the road. Good spot to watch for dolphin and Minke whales - not that we saw any! Didn't overnight here.

Beautiful spot, with 2 campers in my vicinity, all very quiet. Unfortunately the scene was spoiled by people camping in tents nearby playing music, and yet more people driving up late at night playing loud thump thump music. Has it become a popular local spot for the kids to meet up?? Can't really blame them I guess, it's just a shame for those of us who come here for peace and quiet.

Beautiful quiet location, not suitable for large vans, fantastic views if it's clear. also pitches for tents. completely free, no honesty box, the friendly warden said the council is a bit slow, also advised other free places on our route. Great to watch the birds on feeders on the fence. Quick ride back to village for toilet in the morning.

A wonderful spot. It’s a narrow strip of car park, if your van is over 20 feet you’ll have a laugh trying to complete a 3 point turn to leave. Very quiet in terms of traffic as it is at the end of a narrow road.

Schöne Stelle zum übernachten, mit Meerblick. Tolle Natur. Sehr zu empfehlen! Der enge Anfahrtsweg hat sich gelohnt.

Tolles Fleckchen. In der Bucht unterhalb wohnt ein Seehundpärchen. Mit Glück kann man auch Delphine beobachten.

Well worth the narrow drive out to this lovely quiet spot. Fantastic views and cliff top walks. no services but who cares. A real gem.

Accès étroit sur le dernier mile, mais possible même avec un 7,50 m. Nuit possible mais vaut mieux arriver après 17h. Nous avons passé une très bonne nuit malgré le vent, le parking était encore au 3/4 vide à 10h39. Aucun service.

Well Yes its location is a bit out there. Yes its a little scary. Yes you might get a fisherman or 2 during the night. Yes there are No services. BUT....this location is an absolute beauty. Arrive later in the evening as buisy during the day. i will add some photos, ENJOY
