Excellent car park but unfortunately due to UK planning laws the national trust have been told they are not allowed to let people to sleep in their car parks anymore. They are very nice about it but we aren’t meant to sleep overnight here, but you can leave your vehicle overnight.
Unfortunately the NT have now stopped overnight parking, such a shame.

Absolutely fantastic stay here. Brilliant walks, pubs and a cafe on site too. Toilets open all night and spotless. National Trust staff do check if you have paid for overnight, I saw someone get a knock! 4g patchy. Recommend parking up by the wall / crag in windy weather.
Great spot. Awesome walks and two pubs within walking distance. No signal but can use the WiFi at the cafe to pay for parking. Even when it isn't open.
Brilliant spot with lovely walks nearby. £10 for the night, wifi in the cafe that you can pick up from outside even overnight. Toilets open overnight and were nice and clean. Felt very safe and was really quiet. Lovely stay!
Great little parking place near to Ambleside and lovely walks, paid the following morning £10 in the cafe, toilets were open all night with a water tap too, definitely be back!
Stickle Ghyll National Trust car park. £10 Easy to book with parking app, use the WiFi at the cafe. Toilets left open. There’s 5 allocated spaces, but when we stayed at least 8 other vans where dotted around the car park, which is usually empty by 7pm as the Sticklebarn closes at 6pm. Very quiet and everyone respectful of the parking trial so hopefully it will remain.
Great place to stay for £10 overnight. Shared with 2 other campers, felt very safe. Toilets open all night and nice little cafe for breakfast (which had wifi). Also, had a nice, quiet bar next door. Unfortunately, unless you're planning to leave at 8.30am you do have to pay an additional £4ish for 2 extra hours, but still worth a visit!
Lovely place to stop with toilets open all night. Quiet overnight but very popular during the day. 4 rather than 5 stars due to the fact it can get rather pricey, we stayed one night but needed two day tickets either side which was £25 overall (£7.50 day, £10 night). As previously said, parking can be paid in the cafe, via the app or change in the machine.
great place to stay. a few great walks around. toilet was open all night. no signal, but WiFi available when sitting next to NT cafe. we paid £7.50 via app, as it was not allowing to pay more. in the morning NT member was checking the email confirmation and said there is another carpark ref. number available for overnight stay and it charges full £10 then.

Great little spot right next to Sticklebarn & New Dungeon Ghyll, really quiet and perfect for getting at the entire Langdale valley. Spoke to the guy from the national trust in the morning & he’s mentioned that this & one other car park were a bit of a trial to stop people parking on the roads overnight, let’s make sure we keep respecting it and keep this open, & hopefully get more opened up
toilets were open as late as 11pm tonight - I suspect they are left open? great spot with wi-fi at the café (also left on overnight!)
Great location and really positive step from the national trust allowing vans for £10 overnight. Both the Sticklebarn and Dungeon Ghyll pubs nearby serve great food and drink and both have free Wi-Fi - phone signal on O2 and 3 is nonexistent here.
Great location for access to walking / climbing in Langdales. Toilets during day - not sure about overnight. 2 pubs within a stone throw, both very walker friendly.
