very good spot, good for a hike, free to stay, also the public swimming pool is good. Worth driving too

  • 5/5

We stayed here in early July, nice quiet spot and a bonus park for my son to play footie on. Ten minute walk to town if you aren't driving.

  • 5/5

Arrived around 4pm and it was fully parked up with campers and cars as there was cricket on. Kids playing on the field but still peaceful. Road is not busy at all. Felt safe and can recommend.

  • 4/5

Nice parkup with lots of room for many vehicles, 20p toilets at one end and right next to a nice park and the ocean. Would suit large vehicles.

  • 5/5

lovely stop. Dont spoil it for others. Saw a van being photographed by a local as they were blatantly emptying their waste water onto the road.

  • 5/5

Absolutely perfect spot. Lovely little lake, coffee shop and toilets. Fab costal walk to Portishead Marina to enjoy a cheeky beer in the Sirens Calling pub. Great place if you’ve got dogs with you!! Quite happily stay again as super quiet.

  • 5/5

Nice peaceful stay no bother fishing is snaggy, free water at shell garage tap is in the corner at car wash entrance or slow tap at tyre inflator

  • 4/5

Have to pay 20p to use the toilets and you have to pick a level spot. Other than that a nice spot opposite a park and near the sea. Can walk to the open air swimming pool which is really nice.

  • 5/5

Stayed 2nd and 3rd. Great spot. Quiet. Clean.

  • 4/5

Lots of parking spaces did not see any restrictions on overnight parking. Kids play park. 2 cafes Outdoor Lido didn't see if they had showers or not. Public toilet Lakeside cafe end. 20p money required no cards. Cannot use beach as unsafe.

  • 5/5

Langs de weg, parallel geparkeerd naast een boom en een park aan de ene zijde en een sportpark aan de andere zijde. Tot laat in de avond rijden auto’s in en uit naar de weg en parkeerplaatsen langs het water. Daarna werd het rustig. Heerlijk geslapen. Prima plek!

  • 4/5

absolutely beautiful, really quiet after midnight, stunning sunset, and great for the dogs .only negative is the public toilet closed early evening. but is very close when it is open and requires 20p.

  • 5/5

We just found this place randomly at 1am looking for somewhere to sleep. It remind us a lot of New Zealand lakes. So calm ,good night sleep , good vibes and 20p toilet is decent xx

  • 5/5

A wonderful place to park up. Right next to a common and a lake with ducks and model boats. There are toilets and a Cafe. Very peaceful.

  • 5/5

Really lovely location opposite cricket ground and bowling green close to the sea shore. Lots of greenery and mature trees. 4G. Perfect.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Amazing over night park up, got a good nights sleep, very quiet. Watched the sun set at the beach which is at the end of this road. Toilets are 20p but shut around 7pm ish.

  • 5/5

address indicated is wrong, is the Lake rd when you can park for night easily

  • 5/5

Two good nights spent here, local bowling club members leaving the car park was the only noise. Quiet from 2200hrs- 0630 when the odd car passes by. Local toilets 20p to use closes approximately at 1900-0700. Extremely clean facility, also local cafe 100 metres away depending on where you park. Polite locals who stop and chat. Visit the marina 1/2 mile walk is a must.

Amazing spot for the day and night. 4G

  • 5/5

It was a Saturday night and seemed to be the spot for boy racers and gobby teenagers! But there were other vans so felt safe. This is the only spot around this area of Portishead that has no overnight signs - except the end of the same lane by the lido where I was moved on by an angry resident (fair enough). Take ear plugs! Lots of dog walkers in the morning from around 6am. Portishead is gorge.

  • 5/5

Absolutely brilliant spot so peaceful at night (great sleep - so quiet) and great walks both evening and morning… lakeside cafe next to lake and toilets next to this (20p) it’s perfect to leave your van and walk to the marina for bars and restaurants during the day

  • 5/5

Wide on road parking next to public park. Slight road camber. Great view of sea. Enough space for large MH 8+. Good 3G. Bins provided. Very quiet at night. Friendly locals. Would recommend.

Had a great stay here before but sadly had to move on this time. Had multiple cars honk their horns at each camper as they went past and then later at night had people loudly punching van to create a drumming sound and wake us up so we moved on, think campers are starting to become less tolerated here. Leaving 3 stars, I hope ours was a one off and people do still go and have a better stay.

  • 5/5

spent one night ,good night's sleep, peaceful, nice area ,would recommend

  • 5/5

Excellent park up, sea view, cafe, kid's park, lake and a open swimming pool if you so wish through the day...only downside is a few cars going up and down (young, boy racer type) but doe's settle down.

  • 5/5

Stopped off here from info from the app, ample parking nice walk for the dog, there are signs on the main road which is beach road stating no overnight parking however as you proceed down beach road take a left on to Lake Road and there are no restrictions on this road, we parked near the cafe and park, one other motorhome opposite the lake quiet enough once darkness fell on the area and FREE

Spent two nights here in November. Quiet road, with minimal night time traffic. Adjacent to park which has a basic cafe and a little lake with lots of ducks. Children's playground. Public toilets. A 10 minute walk into town (Portishead). Nearby Marina and Leisure centre where I had a shower for £3. Loads of shops, Waitrose etc. Bristol Centre is about 40 minutes bus ride away on the express X5.

  • 5/5

Parked here for the night after spending the afternoon parked on the water front. Had a great night sleep with no disturbances. Plenty of space for larger vehicles and not immediately outside any residences. Immaculate toilets for 20p coin. X2 cafes, boating lake, duck pond, park and outdoor heated swimming pool (with cafe). Town a short distance walk with lots of shops. Lovely views over to Wales

  • 4/5

Parked here on a Saturday night, there was plenty of space. This part of the road is dark with no streetlights. It was generally quiet, with a few cars driving past (slow) overnight. Busy in the morning from about 10am. Plenty of bins, including recycling. 20p toilets nice and clean, were unlocked when I was there so no charge.

  • 5/5

Lovely parkup 's all around the lake grounds and seafront. Busy in the daytime, with plenty to look at and lovely places to stroll around ,but we had two quiet nights ideal place for anybody with limited mobility. Reasonably priced decent food in the cafe and clean public toilets 20p entrance no dedicated dissabled cubicles . We wiil be back to explore the area more.

Stayed overnight in Sept 2021. Great location, wide road, and quiet at night. Walked to nearby marina in about 15 mins. Marina has a couple of pubs/restaurants, but mainly apartments. Parked adjacent to the green and tea shop that gets busier about 10am with people strolling, walking the dogs and going to the boating lake, but nothing loud. Lovely views and place to stay, will use again.

  • 5/5

Top place to stop especially when going or coming back from Cornwall. Not far at all from the M5 and plenty of takeout places for food and shops

  • 5/5

Awesome stop. Toilets on site. We had dinner and breakfast on the green. Kids played at the playground. Enjoyed beautiful sunset, waking along the sea front. Lots of campers on this street, on the seafront and some at the car park on the hill. Safe and comfortable. Some kids partying until 11/12pm or so, but seemed harmless enough.

  • 5/5

Stopped here on Sunday night (arrived late), very quiet. Monday early morning was fairly busy with dog walkers and fitness people. Toilets were closed though, no opening times, so no facilities. 1 minute walk to the beach/coast path.
