Great stop. Just us overnight. Totally silent. Half a dozen fishermen by 8am. Lovely walk round the water, if a little soggy in places, so correct foot-ware needed.

travellingMan6202/08/2023Peaceful place with a play park for the kids. There’s a walk around the reservoir and a shop on site. Parking machine only takes coins but you can pay at the shop when it’s open. There are also toilets too.

Fontburn Reservoir was the 3rd Reservoir we’ve stayed in on our Northumberland 250 trip! These places are rare gems and whilst there is a £10 cost, it gives us peace of mind as well as paying towards these rare amenities. Toilets were open all night and it was quiet and felt safe. We didn’t have £10 coins but paid in the fishing hut at 7.30am the following morning.

Great spot. After fishermen left at 7ish we had it to ourselves until they arrived at 7.45 next morning! Couldn’t pay when we arrived but no problem as we just went to the shop across the dam the next morning. Most pics here show the wrong car park. This one is across the dam.

what a beautiful place, stayed for 1 night very peaceful and quiet so had a great night's sleep. enjoyed a bbq overlooking the reservoir such a great place...will defo be back

Stayed for 1 night, paid £10 online, easy booking. You can also pay at machine. We had the place to ourselves. Gorgeous scenery and walk around the reservoir. Very clean and easy accessible toilets.
JC_plays_keys03/11/2022Stunning place. We had the place to ourselves. Completely silent with just the sound of local wildlife. Saw some deer. Handy portaloo nearby. Remember to take coins for the overnight parking £10. We only had a note so managed to pay over phone, but as an exception. They were cool about it. Bargain price for such a superb experience!

Excellent spot, room for approx 30 campervans/motorhomes. Very level/flat, park right next to reservoir, picnic tables, clean toilets. Fishing Lodge was closed when we arrived at 15:30 on a Saturday. Good 4G signal on O2 and EE. £10 overnight.

Lovely quiet spot, only two other vans. Toilet block clean and open, but keep moving as the lights went off while in the gents!!

Beautiful spot next to reservoir, only one other van so very peaceful. £10 per night. Water tap at the side of the shop. Difficult to walk the full track round the reservoir due to fallen trees from Storm Arwin.

Quiet spot for the night with views over the reservoir. £10 paid via coin machine for overnight parking(12 hours). Toilet facilities at back of visitor hub. Small play park for ages 5-12

the ticket is timed and gives you 12 hours. tickets per hour are also available. my ticket ran out at 7.30am and I left. I dont know how rigidly they enforce parking.

Stayed here Friday night, was very quiet only us here until 8am when the fishermen started to arrive, lots of geese around so a bit of noise from them haha , lovely views hard standing car park, there was potaloos but they looked like they hadn’t been emptied for some time, walk around the reservoir was closer due to lambing season but opens back up 10th May. Will deffo stay here again

Use the area to the south of the dam as it's got flushing loos. Portaloos only at North side. Great peaceful place if you don't mind the £10.

Peaceful evening although quite exposed in the wind. Portaloos if you need them. As you get to the reservoir the first main car park with the lodge (where you can pay) is on the left and the second car park (where the coordinates took us) is on the other side of the reservoir.

Gorgeous area but limited facilities and quite exposed so can be cold.
vintersorg8119/08/2021Nice spot.We had a problem with using ticket machine - both broken ( Y and 1 didn't work when tried to press for reg number and the other one shut completely). Ticket machine is coins only. If you don't want to get up too early - buy one ticket for couple of hours during a day and late night get the overnight ticket. We arrived at 6.30pm and our overnight ticket was only valid till 6: 30am.
