Google maps is out of date, the wharf building now houses an Italian restaurant. I went in and asked and they said I could stay the night if I was using the restaurant, they said yes. Enjoyed a delicious authentic pizza and glass of wine at very reasonable prices. Also very handy to have the canal facilities to empty the loo and shower (requires the CART key) but the bin store was padlocked shut.
nice stop . better if you have a CART key to use the facilities. showers . water and grey water. local social club is good on a Saturday. like this place.

Yes it's a private car park and maybe getting popular with campervanners as it seems the purchase of a meal in the cafe is now required for a free overnight stop. There are very few parking places along the Leeds/Liverpool Canal so this is a rare treat.
Lovely place to park, it is a private car park and it says no over night parking but, we asked the cafe owners (who is a lovely bloke) if it was ok to stop a couple of nights and they said it was ok. We also bought drinks there and bought food as a thank you. We have been back again since then.
Can't overnight here it's a private car park for boat users and cafe patrons.
