Great spot. (Overnighted on 29/03/2024) Will need benefit from chocks as it is quite uneven. Quite and secluded so will get a great undisturbed nights sleep. Cars start arriving from early hours for Catbells and during peak can get a bit chaotic.
Perfect spot to start cat bells. We were the only van when we arrived at 8pm. Another joined later. Lots of owls in the trees. Cars started arriving from 5:30 am. (Not using morning voices) but we are in a car park after all. Not very level
Probably room for about 8 comfortably, only slighty sloped. When I went I was the only one over night. Get 3G there, quiet but cars start coming from 6am for cat bells. Nothing else around it. Sheep visiting the van.
Free parking, small roads leading up to the parking area. I arrived at 21:30 my van was the only one there for a while and a few other cars turned up, slept well. Cars come early in the morning to park here for catbells walk. Good 4G signal.
Great spot at the base of the catbells hike. Parking area gets busy during the day with hikers but quiet overnight, slight slope for parking but manageable. Stayed overnight with no issues.
Not suitable for motorhomes. Road very narrow
Very quiet after half 7. Bit of a slope but managed to move the van later on so we was flat, as there was only us and 1 other van at the spot. Great spot to park for an early start to hike the Cat Bells. Had a few sheep visited us too.
Great spot- spent a couple of nights here and undisturbed the whole time.
Ideal spot for walking Cat Bells. Very quiet we were the only ones there. Bit of a slope. Heard runners there very early and tends to get busy early on.
We stayed last night, two vans us and our friends. Quite night lovely walk up the hill with amazing views. Perfect for a glass of wine and chat.
Stayed here for 2 nights back in September 2021. Nice quiet spot. Starts to gets busy about an hour before sunrise and remains so till more or less sunset. As per other comments, the ground is a little uneven but other than that a grate spot
nice spot. Started Our hike from there. when we came back in the afternoon, it was very crowded. but a good place for sleeping
parking avec beaucoup de places, mais tres en pente. difficile, voir impossible de se garer droit sans cales. le nous a quand même bien dépanné dans une région où les ils sont rares. nous avons du ramasser un sac plein de déchets (mouchoirs, capsules...) veiller à garder les endroits propres.
Plenty is space that’s for sure, ground a bit uneven but not too much of trouble. Very quiet over night (I was there alone) cars started coming and going from 6am. Perfect location to start walking Cat Bells and left the vehicular there all day free of charge. Only thing it lacked was a view.
A great spot for walking Catbells. Was very busy when we arrived so best to get there after 6 or extremely early in the morning (was filling up again by 8am). Slightly sloping but manageable and a very quiet lovely night.
Good calm night, parked well for a walk the next day. Arrived around 8pm.
This was a lovely little spot and we stayed here for one night in total. Not the most level ground and was rather steep on the way. The best part about this spot was that there was a man in his car listining to Reggie Watts tracks and smoking a bit of the Devils Lettuce. Would recommend to anyone in the area if your looking for a free nights sleep. Cracking.
