Very mucky & busy site, toilets were clean though. Price is steep at £30 a night + £20 deposit for the key card (which you get back), cash only!

Awesome setting and could be an amazing site. Sadly it is the worst site I have ever stayed at. Owners are terrible and just interested in getting as much money off you as possible. £46 a night with no EHU to be surrounded by noisy groups of idiots. No pitch markings and the place is a swamp as soon as it gets even slightly wet. Avoid, avoid, avoid .

minimum 3 nuits. nous avons du repartir, ne pouvant rester qu'une nuit. business is business ...

Great for dogs as beach is shallow for ages out. Can rent paddle boards, great if you want to have a drink and socialise. Pizza woman is lovely on-site pizza and coffee are amazing. AVOID toilets

Arrived on Friday afternoon, £28 for 2 people and a dog in a campervan and 50p to use the showers. Site seemed extremely overcrowded with lots of big groups. Spaces around but seemed no organised pitches and lots of tents set up in big circles. Seems like a great place for those looking for a party atmosphere but unfortunately not for a relaxing evening. Noise/music going on until the early hours

  • 4/5

Nice large place, services even not average, 28£ for van and 2 pers. rather overpriced.

  • 5/5

Was a bit sceptical from the reviews regarding noise but had a lovely stay on a Wednesday in May. Close to Coniston with pubs, also good for walking the Old Man of Coniston. Toilet block plus showers (50p) and right on the lake so would be good for paddleboarding. Paid £15 for one person plus £20 gate key deposit (returned if left by 12 noon). Didn’t pre book but the site is huge

Lovely Campsite in a fab spot lakeside, visited over bank holiday weekend was extremely busy they opened additional field, £13 per adult, £2 per vehicle. They do accept large groups so was noisy but didn’t have a major issue. no booking and no minimum nights.

  • 4/5

4/5 simply for the stunning views and breakfast by the lake is lush! I imagine it gets super busy during peak season! Always sad when you have to pay extra for the showers and facilities! Peaceful night, easy to find.

  • 4/5

Ideal little campsite right by the lake which is perfect for a swim or paddle board etc. £38 for 3 people in a camper-van for a Saturday night, £20 gate key deposit. Nice friendly easy going atmosphere however probably not the best place if your looking for a silent night. Only reason for 4/5 stars is due to the cost… there are showers on site but you still have to pay to use them.

  • 5/5

brilliant views and setting, can definitely see the site getting loud and rowdy on busy weekends, so if you are after a silent site this isn't for you, if you are after a site with a friendly atmosphere and to be surrounded by outdoorsy people then this is great, I will definitely be returning. :)

  • 1/5

This campsite allows noisy groups, very late noise, crowded in pitches and huge fires. The over-riding mood here is drunken noisy yobs. Be aware if you’re coming. And it’s cash only (many people don’t expect this!)

  • 3/5

Poor information on arrival and expensive compared to other sites. No info about toilets showers on arrival so did not know they existed felt like I was paying £26 just for a pitch with no ehu. Lots of rules written with no ‘please’ which sounded very unfriendly. Good location but just felt customer service was lax!

  • 2/5

Was all set to stay 2 nights, meet with friends, kayak on Coniston Water, then I checked the prices.....£26 for me in my motorhome, and they want another £1 for the kayak. Sounds like a whinge, but considering my van has a similar footprint to a large SUV, no tent footprint, and that I wouldn't set foot in their facilities, I just see it as greed! Will go to Stonethwaite instead....£8 pppn!

Lovely campsite. Direct access to the lake, easy walk into Coniston and a very peaceful night. It was very quiet when we were there. Sheep and ducks wandering about. Cash only plus £20 deposit for gate key so make sure you have money with you. Shower & toilet blocks are very clean.

  • 2/5

Informal pitches on farm land. Quite busy and noisy. Disappointed to be charged extra £5 for staying past midday, was not clear on arrival. Facilities old but fairly clean, 50p for short shower and £3 for washing although not very good at cleaning. Close to beautiful coniston lake that is a lovely swim.

  • 2/5

Good that you don’t need to book, bad that it can get very busy on summer weekends. Can be a bit of a party site with lots of loud music. Great location though with direct access to the lake and an off-road walk into Coniston.

  • 5/5

A really lovely place to camp we had a small camper van, plenty of space week before autumn term starts. 50p for shower, warm and clean facilities. outdoor water tap. Very dog friendly. Trailer serving breakfast rolls and good coffee etc, does pizza in evening 5-8pm. We will go back, right by the lake shore. use your own kayaks sups etc. £29 for 1 night included x2 adults x1 child.

  • 4/5

Large site very close to the lake with showers, toilets and wash up, £25 a night with no hook up, lucky I don’t need it !, shower is 50p and u have to be quick so be warned! Otherwise for the location the price is right and a ten min walk into Coniston .
