Beau parking hors route, assez de place pour 20 impairs. pas d'installations. probablement un bon endroit pour une promenade. très calme et tranquille.

Car park, Room for 20. no facilities. Great area for a walk down into Staithes to the eating/drinking places, quiet and undisturbed. Very expensive at £15:00 for overnight parking

Schöner Parkplatz abseits der Straße, genug Platz für 20 ungerade. keine Einrichtungen. wahrscheinlich eine gute Gegend für einen Spaziergang. sehr ruhig und ungestört.

I didn’t stay due to the exorbitant cost. £17 for a car park with a rubbish bin is ridiculous. Such a shame as it’s a lovely area.

  • 1/5

Another spot made inaccessible to those struggling with the cost of living! I prefer to spend my money in Staithes businesses not lining council pockets!! Absolutely gutted I can’t afford to stay again.

Spent a very pleasant night here over Easter, just us and one other van. Another parked on the road to avoid the charge, but we were content to pay to access this lovely spot. 10 mins downhill to town, and walks along the cliff the other way. Saw a barn owl at dusk and beautiful sunset. Reasonably flat.

  • 3/5

Signs at the beginning of this road are misleading. It says permit holders only but the car park is available as Pay & Display although it appears to be quite expensive. We parked on the smaller road just before the entrance to cowbar lane which worked well.

  • 5/5

£15 per night but very quiet and peaceful

  • 5/5

Level200. Just for the record. This car park is not in Staithes so not really suicide for Staithes. There is overnight parking for motorhomes actually in Staithes so I guess the village will survive. The car park is actually in the Redcar and Cleveland council district thus is nothing to do with Staithes which is in the Scarborough district council.

    It's now 2,2£ for 1h and 4£ for 2h

  • 1/5

£15 per night with no facilities! Staithes has committed suicide for its cafes and pubs. @wendyhouse, exactly my point. it's on the outskirts of Staithes, so why charge £15 a night for a patch of gravel with no facilities. Staithes being greedy but killing the village business. I will not visit anymore if need to put £15 on top of my meal in Staithes. I will take my money elsewhere if not wanted

Now Another Empty carpark Who in there right mind would pay £15:00 to park in a Carpark photos posted

  • 3/5

Payment for parking now in force. £15 for overnight.

  • 5/5

I think we were the last to benefit from a free overnight park up. As we were getting ready to leave, a local popped up in his campervan to make us aware that charges were due to start from today, the Highways Agency were there preparing to install the notices and when I checked Ringo (after checking last night) the fee paying was active. Great spot, great views, nice walk into Staithes but pricey

  • 5/5

Spoke to parking dept. Charging will start when notice board with terms and conditions go up. Not like Sandsend charging all year round according to parking dept. Still a lovely park up with bins emptyed each day. keep it clean and dont overstay.

Parked up where it’s nice and quiet here. The meter wasn’t working as we could only put in £2 and that was it. It’s apparently £4.80 for 24hrs. Lovely view of the sea and a nice walk Into Staithes. Only people who come are walkers.

  • 5/5

perfect spot with sea view. parking meter still not operational and no signs showing what the charges will be

  • 5/5

Parking meter installed, but still not operational, so still a free parking opportunity for now. Gorgeous spot overlooking the sea with a short steep stroll into Staithes for an icecream or a pint definitely worthwhile.

  • 4/5

as someone else just mentioned, parking meter installed, won't be long before it's operational, the proposal was £15 a night which I think is a bit steep for a car park, but it is a lovely spot, very quiet, and a nice walk into Staithes for a meal and a beer,

  • 4/5

the council have just installed a parking meter. no signs and it is not yet taking money. stayed the night very quiet

  • 5/5

Fantastic free car park for approx 20 vehicles. Can fit large motorhomes too. Very busy last night with cars parked overnight, think it’s the overflow car park for Staithes visitors to the houses. 2 big bins. Right on the coast parallel to a lovely coastal walk. 5 min walk into Staithes but uphill walk back! There were 5 other motorhomes when we stayed. Very quiet. Would highly recommend. It’s not the lay-by on the main road. Drive passed the house and ignore the signs saying not suitable for motors.

Amazing spot! We ended up staying 3 nights. There are nice walks around and the sunset is beautiful. During the day the carpark is used, but the cars are usually parked for a while, so not too much coming and going. Staithes is cute!

N’est plus accessible qu’aux personnes autorisées

Down Cowbar Lane. Parked here on a Friday night, and by 0530am the car park was full of noisy, excited surfers. This car park is a weekend meeting place for surfers and best used during the week. Other than the noisy , very early morning surfers, its a lovely spot. NOTE: I do understand that the surfers have perfectly valid reason to be here.

  • 5/5

This is down the Cowbar lane. there are signs to day permit holder parking only on way in, but this car park is before the residents parking. well used during the day

  • 5/5

Great spot. Really near the town and nobody else was here when we pulled in. Bins are available but no signs to say you can't stay and best of all its FREE

  • 5/5

Great views and lovely walk into Staithes, windy but beautiful

  • 5/5

Great larl site. We landed with great sunny weather zero wind and a empty car park. Very easy to find. Footpath located to coast edge down into Slaithes to check the compact old village

  • 5/5

Great spot, quiet 1 other camper. Great sea views. Cold and windy but to be expected. Bins available for any rubbish. A walk down to the little village is a must. So pretty and full of character.

  • 4/5

really nice spot this one was there 3 weeks ago and it was free but there was a sign up last week saying its £15 a night to stop, also it's a wide open windy spot but rocks you to sleep would go back

  • 5/5

Great free parking area , plenty of space for bigger campers / motor homes , we parked for the day and then walked down into Staithes where there are pubs and toilets etc (10-15 mins walk down a fairly steep path )

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot, nice Sea View, quiet and flat. Free Parking. Perfect access into Staithes. I spent two nites here, could have stayed longer. Will definitely be going back there. I'd advise not to go passed the locals access sign, it gets well tight, steep and there's no reason to drive down. I learnt the hard way. nearly killed the clutch!

  • 4/5

Car park was quite busy when we arrived at 6pm but we managed to park up side by side with a friend. No facilities but Staithes is only a short walk away so we paid a visit to the sea front pub, had a few drinks and used their toilets at closing time

  • 4/5

Perfect spot for us. Nice walk down into village. only us and one other large hymer. no problems. did a litter pick whilst there

  • 3/5

Great park up spot, quiet in terms of noise but busy with dog walkers cars. short walk to village but steep hill.

  • 5/5

This location is great! Just off a little used road right on the cliff top. The carpark was full, but there were quite a few parking on the scrubland at the side of the road. Just me 48, and my son 10 for this trip. Felt very safe and peaceful. Right on the Cleveland Way footpath, with stunning views. Please look after it guys, and if full, move on.

  • 5/5

Nice quiet spot, fair few other campers and cars in the lot but more than enough room. very quiet other than the rain, nice walks near by
