Really nice campsite very handy for ticking off some Wainwrights (we did Raise, White Side, Helvellyn, Nethermost Pike and Dollywagon Pike phew!). No phone reception on three. Showers/toilets basic but clean and plenty of hot water 24/7. Electric hookup available, but we had non-electric and paid £25 per night. Views amazing and the breakfast van on weekend mornings is a nice touch!

Owner was very friendly, we had a tent box & van with a normal tent £39 for one night, showers are 20p for 3 minutes, quite a few level spots, toilets was clean and not to far from us. They is lovely views, owner let me use drone

Nice site, perfect for hiking Helvellyn. Clean, warm showers 20p for about 3 mins. Great washer & dryer for £2 each we made use of. Narrow in spots to access but close to town so wasn’t a problem. Our children spent ours on the 2 tree swings!

Really nice quiet campsite in a lovely area. Friendly welcome, electricity pitches are slightly sloping and the toilet block is quite old (20p for showers). Lovely village with shops and pubs and great walks in every direction

Such a lovely place to stay, with hot showers at 20p, beautiful views, near the shops and pubs, and stunning walks.

Stayed here for two wonderful nights. A great spot for camping and a good start to hike in the near Mountains.

Stayed here 3 times now to climb Helvellyn, great campsite, shower block, 4g, bins and is at the start of the climb for Helvellyn. has a food trailer which is open on weekends but has never been open when I've stayed so havnt tried it. ground has been wet and soft whenever I've been but that's just the lake District.

Amazing campsite! Has fab views and just overall lovely site. Showers and toilets where clean and just 20p for shower use, i used 40p and gave me plenty of time. We arrived about 6pm and the lady said to leave by 11am however we ran over and all was ok. Thing to note roads are abit steep getting there (we come from coniston way) just incase weather conditions change

Brilliant campsite called last minute and Landlady welcomed us in, Great, Clean, Quiet site with stunning views and a short walk from the little town.. we definitely be back

  • 5/5

It was quite late in the evening when we rang, but the landlady was so nice and helpful and accepted us straight away. There are electricity, water, clean toilets. You can take a hot shower for only 20p (coins needed). Also a sink to wash dishes. Internet signal is poor. Paid £24 per night for 2 adults and a campervan. Definitely recommend if you want to visit Grasmere and other places around.

Lovely spacious site, a short walk from town with a couple pubs which do good food. Lots of good walks in the area

Beautiful campsite, stunning location and lovely helpful staff with everything you need. £10 per adult and £1 for camper we paid, I believe it is £5 per child too. Showers cost 20p.

  • 5/5

Good location with a short walk to shops, cafes and pubs. Showers on site are nice and hot and only 20p to kick start them. Well recommended!

A beautiful site very peaceful with excellent mountain views and next to a river. Old school bathroom blocks with lovely hot 20p showers. We will definitely be back !

Lovely place to stay for the night, £22 for the night in our campervan for the 2 of us, 20p for shower which should come with the price but didn't bother us. I phoned ahead before arriving as on the website it said booking only but wasn't a problem as she booked us in when we phoned
