BerthaTheBeast13/08/2023We actually started our evening in the car park on the other side of the reservoir but decided this one was the better option, e.g more infrastructure and felt safer with the sailing club right there. There was no payment machine present and no one asked us to pay. The toilets stayed open all night and it was fairly quiet considering the proximity to the road.
Iorek_Byrnison21/07/2023Nice and easy to park here. it was quiet and due to the weather quiet in the morning. there weren't any machines I could find to pay for parking, but you can do this on the website if you keep looking. I'm not sure what the situation would be if you didn't pay online given no machines. No overnight facilities.

A great spot where you can get far enough off the road for traffic noise not to be a problem.

Just stayed here. Fantastic place for overnight. If the machine is out of order you can pay online, the address is on the board.
Carucymru24/08/2022Great night sleep here toilets open overnight too lovely views and walk round the reservoir and over the moors. £10 over night but the machine was broken cash only currently and the shop wasn’t open to pay by card well worth a look

We stayed here in a camper for 1 night, some of the ground is uneven. The pay machine was working, however it only accepted cash, the closest point was a 20min round trip. We made the round trip, paid the machine, got our ticket and it then said out of order once again. There were no checks we arrived about 4pm and left at 10am. There are toilets open all the time a few mins walk down the road from the car park, no other facilities. There is a local garage and restaurant/cafe along the road, both are walking distance

Perfect stopover, we were only overnighter and had excellent quiet sleep. We are new to wild camping and we felt safe here. Beautiful setting. Pay machine was switched on but wouldn’t accept any money. Visitor Centre was ‘closed until further notice’ so not able to pay. Would thoroughly recommend and would have been happy to pay.

Fantastic free park up right on the doorstep of a lovely walk around a reservoir and nature reserve. Fairly quiet even though just off a main road. Little shelter from the wind. Ticket machine wasn’t working. Public toilets nearby and a tearoom across the road (we didn’t have a good experience here, sadly - 45 minute wait for no food to be forthcoming and disagreement with 3 different staff members with 3 different excuses). However, the park up is fairly flat, we had 2 bars of 4G on EE

17/09/2021 Ticket machine not working, parked up ,lovely and quiet, only motorhome here ,a couple of cars early on .plenty of space .Nice spot.
cpjtaylor31/08/202130/8. only van parked up. Quiet night with just a little road noise, no other cars or visitors through the night. We are 8.2m long and was sufficient space to maneuver and park without blocking anything. Parking bays not marked. Area beyond barriers is private however lane next yo club house leads to bins, toilet and a shop with a path leading around reservoir.
Colwynchapman15/08/2021Stayed last night even though machine was not taking money and little shop was closed. No other way to pay and sailing club said it was nothing to do with them so settled in. Nice quiet night on the car park area with a view over the sailing club to the reservoir. Decent dog walk, and if you are into bird watching, a hide overlooking the reserve. will stay again... even if we have to pay.
