An Torr Car Park is part of Glencoe National Nature Reserve, cared for by the National Trust for Scotland.

Do not park across more than one bay! No campfires please, and no awnings or tents in the carpark please!

While we welcome visitors, this car park is sadly being abused by some campers, Campervan and Motorhomes users. Our Ranger team regularly have to deal with rubbish, nappies, human waste and used wipes at the edges of the parking area after a night when it is filled with vehicles.

It is not appropriate to make campfires in the woods or beside parking bays as this causes damage to the natural habitat. Stoves are fine, but please take care at times of high wild fire risk.

We ask that you spend some time checking that you leave no trace of your visit. If you do not have self-contained toilet facilities, or do not intend to take away your human waste in dog poo bags, do no park here.

If you LOVE Glencoe and appreciate the work our team do to look after the footpaths, mountains and wildlife here, please make a donation (suggested £5) after parking or staying overnight

Thank you for respecting this beautiful place ?

Fantastic overnight stop. Busiest yet for campers, 15 overnight but amazingly quiet. Great evening in The Clachaig, met some amazing people and great live music. Please, please people take your rubbish with you - we have 2 dogs but the first thing we did when we parked was pick up someone else’s poo bag!

  • 5/5

Really nice parkup with walks through stunning scenery. 16 vans stayed but was sad to see vans unnecessarily parked across bays though; they're plenty big enough. Had seen one of those enormous military conversions in a space when we arrived so if he can...! You can make donations easily through the National Trust for Scotland website.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot beneath the mountains. Lots of spaces. Good signal and peaceful evening.

  • 5/5

5/5 the best park up in the area. Tucked away from the road, plenty of designated spaces. Bins provided. Bathrooms a 5 min drive away. Lovely views/walks. Good 4G. Would recommend.

  • 5/5

Great spot in a great location! Stayed for a night and day to work. The road is far enough away to not be a problem and the mountains and surrounding area are unreal. Shame there was a few rented campers parked across 3 places not following the rules. Close to Glencoe village centre which is a bonus.

  • 5/5

An excellent site provided by NTS, BUT let down by those using it who don’t respect the simple requests from NTS in the description. We arrived 7pm tonight to find many bays blocked by inconsiderately parked vehicles - preventing anyone else from using them - Read the description folks and respect the NTS and your fellow campers please!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great spot, lots of parking when we arrived about 6:30pm, few other vans but plenty spaces. Great walking trail which the dogs loved. Car park was busy in the morning as people arrive for the walking trail. Wee bit of road noise overnight but not bad :)

  • 4/5

Nice walks nearby and the road noise isn’t too bad, especially at night. Busy car park though, with campers and locals so please park sensibly.

  • 5/5

Nice overnight spot. We shared it with 4 other campers but there is loads of space. 500 m walk next to the river to the Claighall inn. Food was very nice.

  • 4/5

A nice place to sleep! Very pretty in the valley. Midges actually weren’t too bad on the night I was there.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Lovely stop over. We arrived just after lunch and the car park was never at full capacity. Lots of people coming and going until around 10pm. It's the start of a short hike up to Signal Rock, which is great for kids and dogs. Nice flat paved parking areas, plus bins as you enter. No 4g and limited phone signal on 3.

  • 4/5

calme à partir de 22-23h. de belles randonnées à faire. poubelles. petite rivière sympa

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

What a beautiful spot to stop for the night. No matter in which direction you walk, you’re rewarded with beautiful views. Some people with smaller vans took up a whole concrete bay, even though it wasn’t necessary, so there was no more space for locals to park. A huge thank you to the ranger team, everything was spotless.

  • 5/5

Very nice, quiet place to spend a night. A short walk to an inn near Hagrid’s Hut where you can have a drink.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Quiet location next to some short picturesque trails and a pub. Lots of midges as it was quite humid and there are a lot of trees. Stayed with a motorhome, no troubles whatsoever.

  • 5/5

So beautiful view! Love it. Lot of people (~10 motorhomes) but quiet and no sound of the road. Close to the "pap of glencoe" hike.

  • 5/5

Good stop over for the night. A little noisy as quite near the road but nothing too bad and we still had a good nights sleep! Nice walks from here and Clachaig Inn is only a short walk away with great food.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

A little noisy but it is right next to the road, however apart from the road noise it was quiet and that did subside around 2300. We had a good sleep here (along with several others - it’s a popular spot!). Good walks from car park and Clachaig Inn literally 500m walk. Would stay here again.

  • 5/5

Lovely wee stop over, but very busy!

  • 4/5

Not too noisy, plenty of room for vehicles and bonus are the nice hiking possibilities behind the parking places. Plus fresh stream for filtering water. Only minus was the internet (Vodafone) - not great.

  • 5/5

Mid week stop in March. Lots of space and nice walks from the carpark.

  • 4/5

Great place to stop. Unfortunately a lot of rubbish has been left so please take yours home. Stayed here on a sat night in Feb, very busy so imagine hard to get a space during summer. well worth the small donation. some lovely walks.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning spot! If we don’t take care of the places that they let us stay, they will stop letting us stay in them. Absolutely amazing place that I would love to come back to. please pay attention to the very simple rules laid out for us & drop a generous donation on the link

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Quiet-ish although the road is quite busy - very dark and with nice parking spots. Lovely walks in the immediate surroundings and close to the local pub. The location of Hagrid’s hut (no longer there) is nearby if you look it up!

  • 5/5

Solid and level ground in car park. Room for ten or more large vans or double that number of smaller ones. No facilities. 30 mins walk from the Clachaig pub (Boots bar is dog friendly, booking recommended on a weekend) - take a torch! Well worth the £5 donation to NTS for overnight use of their land.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

An absolutely beautiful place to stay for the night. It was busy but not full for our visit, and there are large bins at the entrance. Basic, but ideal for exploring the Glencoe area.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Nice stop for the night. Pretty quiet even though the road is close. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and there were some parking spots left. Might be harder later. But also you can find various spots on the way to glencoe. Depending on the size of your vehicle. Easier for vans.

  • 5/5

paint parking lines to stop selfish people taking the space of 3 vehicles. thank you.

  • 5/5

Only stayed here during the day but it’s a beautiful spot with a pretty walk just off the car park across the river, so perfect for our dog. Bins at the entrance to the car park. Good 3G/4G signal on EE & o2. Very grateful that NTS allow overnight parking in this area - made a donation via the link in description.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

A nice quiet spot. Park the right way and many can get in. Back into the space if your short enough. We were 6.8 mtrs and could back in. Great hikes to Signal rock and around plus the river is right there.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

great place to stop overnight. only issue is the selfish ones who park length ways in the bays taking up the space that can fit 3 vehicles leaving no space for others that could use it.

  • 5/5

what a lovely spot to stay over night. No issues with traffic noise or parking. Will definitely stay again

  • 5/5

fantastic stopover. we were surprised how big the bays were and tucked in away from the road.

  • 2/5

  • 5/5

Nice park up for a night when travelling up north. A little bit of road noise, but not excessive. The only issue was 4 or 5 motorhomes had parked across the parking bays to stop others parking next to them and set up like they were on a campsite. Inconsiderate people as the bays were deep enough for them to park correctly.....

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Thankyou so much for allowing overnight stops. After a long night drive this was a wonderful respite from the road. It is so sad to see some motorhomes/ vans parked across full parking areas preventing others from parking near them. I'm sat looking at one such selfish individual now. Perhaps white lines marking out parking bays in correct alignment would help guide people to park correctly.

  • 3/5

It’s good for a night but many other campers were there as well and some cars were looking for a spot later that night. You can hear the noise of the street close by but it’s okay.

  • 5/5

Lovely little spot with great scenery and walks through the woods by the beautiful river. Pub is 5 mins walk away. Only 3 other vehicles the night I stayed so nice n quiet. The road is no issue noise wise. I paid a £5 donation via the link as suggested and did a litter sweep before I left plus went to the visitor centre down the road. Thank you NTS for letting people stay here!

  • 3/5

Great parkup, and very generous to be allowed to park here with a donation. HOWEVER, motorhomes and LWBs should NOT take up whole bays which could otherwise accommodate 3-4 other vehicles. It is not fair on locals or other drivers to take up so much space.

  • 5/5

Stayed many a time now and a grey spot to park up at! Even better that you can walk through the woods to the pub and have a beer!

  • 4/5

Nice sheltered (from wind), private car park. Road noise negligible. Plenty of room to back into spots - our 6.5m long Motorhome went in fine. Didn’t have to park across the bay at all. Busy - even by 5pm on a winter’s eve.

  • 3/5

A nice area to park in for access to the lovely walks in the area. 1 - The road nearby is actually quite noisy, especially when lorries pass as it is a main road. 2 - There are the odd few who park inconsiderately (as said before, parking across the parking spaces) overall a handy parking spot but I can imagine there are quieter places in the area.

  • 5/5

Perfect little spot for overnight, got here about 3:30pm/4:00pm just as the cars were starting to leave. Yes you can hear the traffic noise from main road but it does die down so no bother for sleeping. Good pub up the road - easily accessible in the daylight via the yellow trail within An Torr (10-15 mins tops from car park). Walkers started coming from about 0800.

  • 3/5

Nice little spot just off what is quite a busy road. Arrived just after 8pm and was almost full, sadly with quite a few people selfishly parked across more than one bay. Left around 8am and wasn't much sign of anyone else leaving. Feel sorry for walkers arriving for an early walk and not being able to park. It would be nice if campers would make a more conscious effort to move on early.

  • 5/5

Such a lovely quiet site, friendly people and busy but space to have a quiet nook to yourself. No facilities but there is a bin for any trash. Perfect if you have self contained facilities!

  • 3/5

Please stop parking across the bays. It's not about YOUR caravan taking up multiple spaces for just one night, it's A caravan taking up multiple spaces every single night. If you take part in parking across the bays, the right to park will eventually be removed. If you're too large to bay park, please find another spot. It's a nice spot, but it won't be nice with a height barrier.

  • 4/5

Really perfect spot, close to Glencoe and lots of walks. Very little phone signal on o2. Witnessed some really selfish parking here though. If the nature reserve have been kind enough to allow vans to park overnight, don’t be selfish and take up multiple spaces so you can park parallel or have your chairs out. That’s when people get annoyed and end up banning vans.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. Fabulous spot with a 5 min walk to the Clachaig Inn. Very quiet with only 2 other motorhomes here. All you have to do is leave as you found it and with no trace of you being here, to allow others to continue to enjoy the freedom and beauty of the place. Easy.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot with lovely views and a beautiful walk from where you park. Really private pitches also which were great.

  • 4/5

Not a bad space for a single night. Traffic noise can be loud early evening. Fills up early. Nice forest walks nearby and you can walk to Clachaig Pub for a cheeky beer quite easily.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay great walk and 5 minutes walk to the clachain Inn great food.

  • 4/5

Stayed overnight here with about 6 other vans. A little road noise but otherwise a quiet and clean nature spot. Hope that people respect it and keep it that way.

  • 4/5

Nice quiet spot, some road noise. Space for about a dozen vans. Short walk through the woods to the Clachaig Inn. In a poor reception area if you are really worried.

  • 5/5

Great spot, big enough for several campers. Full signal on EE, quiet enough and adequately spaced out bays. Can’t grasp why people want to ruin it for everyone with their fires and leaving rubbish!

  • 5/5

Great little spot, forest walk, pub and river all a stones throw away. Lovely little alcoves to park in giving campers that little bit more privacy. Can get quite busy, was 12 motorhomes/campers there when we stayed. just park sensibly and there is room for everyone to enjoy. No bins so please take litter home

  • 1/5

Unfortunately couldn't park here because 3 selfish motorhomes had parrell parked in 3 separate bays all to themselves. That's 15 campervan and car parking spaces taken up.

  • 4/5

We enjoyed two nights in the van here. Lovely easy walks for families and right by the river for relaxing too. Some road noise but it quietened through the evening and the night was fine. I see why there have been some complaints about the heavy usage, lots of ground scars from fires...let’s respect these beautiful places people!

  • 3/5

We got there fairly late (after 8pm) and were lucky to be able to squeeze into the only space left. Quiet from traffic noise and apart from some early morning runners, my much through traffic. No facilities (take your rubbish home with you) and swarming with midges.

  • 5/5

Stunning location but fills up with motorhomes and campervans very quickly. quiet at night but popular spot for coaches and tourists stopping to take pictures and using the bushes as a loo....not all mess left by motorhome owners look to day trippers with no loo facilities

  • 5/5

Plenty space for lots of vans. Please listen to the rules. National Trust Scotland are being very understanding of van users by not shoving a "no overnight parking" sign in the carpark! NO FIRES and take your rubbish with you.

  • 5/5

Lovely individual pitches separated by bushes. It is a real shame some people don't understand the rule; NO FIRES.

  • 5/5

The is An Torr car park some road noise but a lovely stop over lots is walks good phone connection can get busy in the summer. You have the Clachaig inn with the boots bar great beers and food only 10 min walk away after a day on the hills.

  • 4/5

Lots of space and very close to the Clachaig Inn to have lunch/dinner. Relatively quiet at night. Noise from passing cars from early morning. Didn’t bother us though.

  • 4/5

This was a very convenient stopover for one night on our travels. The weather was appalling, but this spot provided good shelter, just off the main road. Space for lots of different vans. Busy with walkers and day-trippers during the day, but by early evening we had the car park to ourselves. We’re joined by a few other vans through the evening. A little noise from passing cars on the main road but nothing too disturbing. No facilities here, but there is a pub about a 10 minute walk away (we didn’t visit it as it was pouring with rain). The car park is also the starting point for a nice, easy walk up to Signal Hill.

  • 4/5

Parking with few « alcoves » where 1-2 campervans or motorhomes can park. So lots of spaces, but busy during the tourist season. Surrounding by trees/bushes and fairly flat. Indeed a 5-10 minutes walk in the forest to the close-by Inn (good food and atmosphere) (« Clachaig » ?). Follow the black and yellow trail. Don’t forget your lights if you go for a late snack or drink, as it’d be pitch black coming back.

  • 4/5

Lots of space and safe with other campers around. Nice 5min walk to the inn. Only downside is the road noise but didn’t notice while sleeping

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Place known enough by overnighters, but apart from some sounds from the nearby road, still very quiet. Good starting point for some walks as well. And a very nice view on the surrounding mountains.

  • 4/5
