Arrived around 2pm and police were preventing vehicles from reaching the spot. At the roundabout they made you turn and go back. Some were allowed in so I tried to ask what was going on but she just shrugged and motioned for me to go away. Stayed in Castle Camping nearby and walked up to visit. Later around 6pm the police were gone and some campers were at this spot.
Spędziliśmy w tym miejscu jedną noc bez żadnych problemów. Rano od razu poszliśmy zwiedzać miasteczko na zamku, idealne miejsce jako baza wypadowa do zwiedzania miasta :) obok nas dwa samochody. W nocy cicho i spokojnie, odwiedził nas tylko konik i słyszeliśmy małego kotka, czasem przejeżdżały samochody na zamek i słyszeliśmy idących turystów ale nie było to uciążliwe.
No nos atrevimos a pasar a esa explanada (hay socavón por lluvias) con la auto y aparcamos justo al principio de la subida a la ciudadela en un hueco debajo de un pino. Algunos ruidos (coches, perros, gente) pero bien para una noche.
Noche tranquila. Los perros no molestaron y los coches dejaron de circular sobre la media noche
Noche tranquila a partir de las 24h. Que fue cuando dejaron de entrar y salir coches del castillo con la música alta. Los perros ladraron en la lejanía. Es mejor aparcar lo más arriba posible y entre los árboles y lejos de la entrada al castillo
Très bien pour une nuit, mais pas plus car les chiens autour n'arrête pas d'aboyer .. Possibilité d'y stationner la journée et allez visiter Berat ! Facile d'accès au pied du château c'est parfait, personne ne viendra vous embêter (contrairement au alentour de la ville ou les jeunes vienne toquer et vous demanderons des sous, allez directement en ville c'est plus sur)
die Anfahrt ist ein bisschen holprig, aber ansonsten echt toll! man steht direkt an der Burk was echt toll ist und hat eine tolle Aussicht wenn die Bäume Grade nicht komplett viele Blätter haben!
Cool place next to the castle. Unfortunately dogs were barking part of the night and even with earplugs I had 2-3 hours at night of no sleeping.
Lugar tranquilo para pasar la noche antes de visitar el casco antiguo y el castillo. Pasaron algunos coches durante la noche pero nada más.
We stayed for one night in early December. It is very convenient to visit the old town and a 15 minute walk downhill to main square, although it is pretty steep and tiring to walk back up. There were a lot of stray dogs in the area that barked late into the night.
pase una noche muy agradable, hay perros si (pero como en todo albania, además no molestan nada) al día siguiente visitamos la fortaleza que está literalmente a 1 minuto andando del aparcamiento, la subida es sencilla con mi furgo (supongo que antes estaría en obras por lo que he leído en otros comentarios), recomiendo ir después de la fortaleza a Berat "nuevo", sin problemas de aparcamientos ahí
Bardzo dobre miejsce, zostaliśmy tutaj na 2 noce. Cisza, spokój, nikt nas nie niepokoił. Ogromna twierdza Berat do zwiedzania na pół dnia, mnóstwo zakamarków i uliczek, widok na miasto z różnych miejsc twierdzy w dzień i wieczorem po prostu fantastyczny.
Nous avions passé deux nuits très calmes sur ce parking, aucun problème
We stayed here for 1 night. Calm. A few dogs came around. In the morning service came to take the garbage but they did not pay attention to us. Entrance to the castle of Berat is free in the late evening (past 19.00). We reccommend place Temi in the castle to eat.
Here are some beggars also children. Please dont give the kids money just food if you want to. So its not worth for them to beg and they go to school. The boy who asked us said that he usually goes to school but sometimes doesnt go so he can beg. He made up a lot of different new stories, why he needed money. was very persistent and sweet. It was hard to resist, but please don't give them money!

Make sure to take the road from the very north (that looks on the map like it's going through the fields). Its a new road that slowly goes up the mountain. Our sat nav didn't think we could use this road, but it's the best to get there. The road from the south is very, very steep and straight.
Wunderbar, es gibt zwei Stellplätze etwas weg von der Auffahrt zum Stadttor. Privatsphäre gibt es natürlich nicht, aber dafür ist man morgens als erster oben, bevor die Busse ausgeladen werden.
Great spot for a visit to the castle and an overnight stay. Can walk to town from here as well. Lovely place !!
Nous y avons passé une nuit tranquille, parfait pour visiter la ville et le château. Très calmepour une nuit en ville,plat à certains endroits.
Buen lugar para dormir o para visitar el castillo. Nosotros hemos estado muy tranquilos durante toda la noche y a partir de las 11am ya han empezado a llegar coches. El acceso a la fortificación es gratuito. Antiguamente se pagaba, pero nos dijo un local que vive dentro, que los comercios y hoteles se quejaron y desde entonces es gratuito aparcar y acceder a la fortificación. (No sé hasta cuando).
Wir standen 3 Nächte an diesem Platz, in der ersten Nacht waren außer uns noch zwei andere Camper da. Der Platz ist relativ uneben, aber mit Auffahrkeilen gut auszugleichen. Nachts ist es ruhig. Der Eingang zur Burg ist zwar gleich daneben, das ist aber der kostenpflichtige! Es gibt noch einen Eingang, an dem man nicht bezahlen muss (heißt auf Google Maps Short cut to the Castle).

It is a good place to sleep you can park the car under some trees. it is a 10 minute walk to the city.
Nuit tranquille On est venus par la route pavée qui monte du quartier mangalem: c'est très pentu, étroit, mais on est passés avec un vivaro. on est descendus par la rruga muzak topia, au nord: ça descend doucement, route en partie terre et cailloux mais pas de trous, plus facile d'accès que la rue pavée juste a côté de la ville fortifiée donc top pour visiter !
A decent quiet spot to spent the night. No one was around in February. We are at Temis Restaurant which is a 5 minute walk through the castle gate - really recommend, such friendly service and good, tasty cheap food. Left the van there for the next morning when we walked down to the river with no problems.
Wir haben da keine Nacht verbracht wurden nur angebettelt und lag ziemlich viel Müll Rum. Der Restaurant Besitzer wollte uns keine Speisekarte vorlegen und war sehr sehr aufdringlich insgesamt sehr enttäuschend gewesen.
Nicht besonders charmant mit viel Müll, Straßenhunden und Bettlern, die Lage macht es aber wett. Wir haben hier zwei Nächte ohne Probleme gestanden. Die Festung ist einen Besuch wert und bei "Temi Albanien Food" kurz hinter dem Eingang gibt es super leckres und günstiges Essen, auch frühstücken ist dort möglich.
Accès difficile car très pentu mais on est passé avec notre t4. Pas vraiment d'ombre, des chiens qui aboient la nuit et les coqs à partir de 5h. Beaucoup de monde le matin, des cars de touristes. Pas de moustiques et soirée assez calme. Ça dépanne car pas grand chose d'autres autour...
Zufahrt für uns mit T4 nicht möglich. Haben die Stelle nicht erreicht.

Very quiet place next to the old castle. Access with some difficulties. Take the road from north to the place (starting at the roundabout). The old brick road is not made for bigger camper. Place is not recommendable for camper longer than 6m. Not easy to level the car. Quite dirty (like a lot of places in Albany), we found a lot of broken glass on the earth. But still a the best available place.
