Not a bad little lane to park for the night, we had no problems at all, close to town centre

Would not stay here again. There are a couple permanent campers and they are clearly unwelcome by the locals. During the night, a vehicle pulled up and started yelling/honking/blaring music/flashing full beams at one of the campers in front of us. Then, there was a visit from a couple police cars in response. And then another car drove past honking later. Unpleasant night

Nice place. But there is no possibility of turning. You should be able to reserve very well. And there's an animal shelter near by. At 6:30 am the rest is over because of barking dogs.

Simple to find, nice and quiet, not disturbed at all. We stayed on a sunday night and inly noise was vehicles leaving the compound at the end of the road. Perfect if you're self contained and looking for a stopover near to York.

Parked here overnight April 23 nicely out of way nobody bothered us. Will use again.

We stayed here Fri night 17/02/2023. Parked behind one other (long term?) parked up van and another arrived just after us. Easy 30 min walk into York, most of it along the river. Left the van there all day Sat whilst we enjoyed the Viking Festival. Useful spot, only loses a point as no scenic views!

Excellent park up for one night, slight rumble of trains but nothing excessive managed to sleep really well.

  • 4/5

Out of the way and quite secluded, some road noise but nothing much. Slopes slightly, great for a stopover if visiting York, we only parked here at night and moved the van closer during the day. Probably easier to reverse up the road so you can drive out easy the next morning

Nice spot on a secluded road. A few dog walkers at night but surprisingly quiet for being relatively central. Some dog noise from the RSPCA but nothing too loud.

  • 4/5

quiet area, there is a road not far away but wasn't too noisy. few dog walkers in the morning. was quite wet, muddy and slippery. there was one other van there which I think is probably a permanent van but we never saw anyone. Enough room for 3/4 vans there

Reasonably secluded road off main road in York. Some train noise. Nearby homeless camp but no issues. Half hour walk into York centre.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot, I slept two nights here and left my van throughout the day to explore York and had no problems. There are a couple of people who stay there permanently and have been asked to vacate but that was after 2 years… safe to say it’s a good spot if you’re just stopping by. There is also a river a few mins walk away which is pretty nice. Closest toilets are driving distance away.

Great place to park for the night, plenty of room for larger RVS. Shared the road with 5 other campers last night. Very quiet night's sleep. Would stay again.

Pretty near the centre of york. No bother. Dogs bark from 8-3 but no problem. Stayed 3 nights

  • 3/5

Indeed a quiet night but doesn't smell good here anymore I'm afraid....

  • 5/5

great little place, very few cars coming and going for walking and fishing, little traffic through the night, 4G signal on smarty (3)

  • 4/5

As others have stated nice and quiet apart from the odd train and free.

  • 4/5

Sehr ruhige Nacht. Trotz Nähe zur Schnellstrasse sehr leise. Ab morgens 8 Uhr sehr viel Hundegebell von der Hunde-Rettungsstation. Für uns aber absolut okay.

slept here 16-5-2022. Good for one night. Had a good night sleep, quiet at night, good place to stay if you're searching for a place to spent the night in York. There is an animal shelter nearby but didn't bother us at all.

It was ok. I wanted to stay in York and that is very difficult. Walk/bike to city center is good. Quiet street, but at 7am loud and ongoing dog barking from the dog shelter… as said, it was ok.

  • 4/5

    Good spot. No hassle.

  • 5/5

Great spot just a thirty minute walk from the centre. Felt very safe and pretty quiet at night. Perfect place to dog watch during the day!

  • 4/5

Great place to stop when visiting York. Off the main roads and no trouble from passers by/ RSPCA staff next door. Quite muddy and not very level.

  • 4/5

Stayed for 2 nights Sept 2021. Just behind RSPCA. Very quiet spot in the day and night. It’s a dead end road, so the only traffic are people taking their dogs for a walk. When we stayed, there where 3 other motorhomes camping overnight. Great location for walking into York. It took us 20 mins to walk into the centre along the road, but will probably be little longer if you follow the river

  • 4/5

Not picturesque but a quiet spot and non residential. Good access to city centre. Located on river, takes 30min to walk to York Minster - Nice walk along the river to get there.
