Visited on 23 Feb. Just as described - brilliant location for walking up Pen Y fan, Cribyn etc. farmer super helpful, parked on hard standing as field was a bit wet. I was in a Boxer LH2, no problem with access. A great spot, will definitely be back.

  • 5/5

A great spot. It snowed when I was here and the clean, hot showers were the best thing ever after a cold morning on the hills. Super friendly too. I'll be back!

  • 5/5

Stayed here for the one night, in my van on the hard standing area. Tidy little field with some great views. Toilets and showers on site are lovely and clean. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Right on the doorstep of some incredible walks/hikes with some breathtaking views. I will definitely be making a return visit with some friends!

  • 5/5

Had a wonderful couple of nights here. Very friendly was even kind enough to drop off some fire wood for us. Loverly scenery. nice clean showers and toilets. Would definitely recommend

  • 5/5

What a great location. It’s a field on a slight slope, relatively flat areas can be found though. The farmer is very friendly and we paid him £10 each by bank transfer. A new toilet/shower block is very close by, with an outside water tap if required. A fantastic location for walking, I will definitely make this my new base for walks this spring.

  • 5/5

A great stay, friendly owner, nice and rural with beautiful views to wake up too. Only 5 mins away from the start of walk up to Pen-y-fan. Showers & toilet block in good condition. Some inquisitive old sheep dogs that roam around so keep dogs on leads (we had ours on a long lead in the ground) nice and quiet out of season too - pretty much had the whole felid to ourselves, so it felt so peaceful.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Turned up late and in bad weather, although the lane is tight we had no problem in a LWB crafter. Text the host and bank transferred for our stay, he was lovely and friendly! Facilities were spot on, and the showers lovely and hot! Ideal start point to climb pen y fan. We will be back for sure!

  • 5/5

This is a wonderful place well away from any noise and with fantastic views, even in very wet weather. The friendliness of other campers and the owner really made me feel safe and accepted on my first ever "car camp" and I almost certainly will be back. I did not think that the narrow roads would be an issue due to driving a car, but still had to be cautious as they really are quite tight.

  • 5/5

Farm/campsite is located down a long narrow road but is very easy to find. Location is perfect for climbing Pen Y Fan horseshoe so I camped here for 2 nights. Facilities are decent and the host is very friendly. Ground isn’t totally level but I will be staying here again in my camper van when I next visit the area.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning views, friendly farmer, lovely hot showers. Just turn up no need to book, fire pits an extra bonus. Lots of lovely walks, peaceful stay. Thanks for your hospitality. Will definitely be visiting again.

  • 5/5

No need to book, just turn up, call number on arrival to give reg. either bank transfer or cash £10 per night. Absolutely gorgeous views of pen y fan and fan y big. Walking routes direct from camping field. Lovely, brand new shower and toilet facilities. Hot showers! Ended up staying a few nights, loved it

  • 5/5

Fantastic campsite! Plenty of space, decent amenities and for a fair price. Would recommend!

  • 5/5

Excellent spot great access to the mountains I only planned on one night but stayed for 3 nights. I will be using this spot when in Wales

  • 5/5

Great site with great views lovely and quiet and very remote feeling with easy access to Fan Y Big. Friendly farmer good for camping , and camper vans small to medium may struggle getting a motor home down small lanes . Ready made fire pits enjoy !

  • 5/5

Great place with a fabulous view. The Honesty Box is immediately on the right side when you enter the farm. We couldn’t find it in the dark when we arrived but saw it the next morning. The showers are very nice and hot and the toilets are clean. Better than most campsites! We didn’t meet the owner because we arrived quite late and didn’t want to disturb anyone. The dogs are a big plus!

  • 5/5

Unglaubliche Aussicht!

  • 5/5

you will drive up a long single track road dont go fast! Great toilets and very close to PEN Y FANN Mountain

  • 5/5

lovely quiet place with some beautiful walks and views, farmer was very polite and helpful, will definitely be returning when out on our travels. Gary, Jaqc and Degsy Dog.

  • 5/5

Perfect find, no need to book, access straight up to the mountains. We will definitely be back. :-)

  • 5/5

What a fabulous spot, we found the path to the ridge way up to Fan y Big, the sight we looked upon straight from the field. Do we love this site, it was the perfect peaceful place to slowly end our first visit to Wales.

  • 5/5

A fantastic find. It was quiet (only 3 other vans in the field). The facilities were good, and we were treated to red kites soaring overhead. We will definitely be back.

  • 4/5

beautiful site, I stopped on the way to a friend's, didn't book, a very peaceful evening, fire pit, friendly farm dog and a quiet night. basic shower and toilet block, all great. £10 a night. Man was very friendly. a bit bumpy on the last bit of track in, but such stunning views. wonderful place, will be back.

  • 5/5

Perfect campsite in a truly beautiful location. Laid back but very helpful owners. Fires and dogs allowed. No posters with shouty rules & regs. Often been the only ones there. Views of the Bannau and walks galore. Lovely new toilet and shower block. No road noise at all.

  • 4/5

If you are looking for remote, this is the place for you! Only suitable for cars/small vans to get to. Farmer was friendly and welcoming despite it being 10pm-ish. Quite a slope but ok after some manoeuvring. Biggest single toilets I have ever seen, showers are hot and all under cover. Doggies are inquisitive but quite vocal at night. Earplugs suggested. Roads not suitable for lowered vans/cars.

  • 3/5

Apart from the slight slope in the field and the farm dogs barking intermittently throughout the night its fab. No good if you're a light sleeper. £10 per person per night.

  • 5/5

Such an amazing place, beautiful views all around and a nice quiet spot! New toilet block with showers are a fantastic bonus too, we really enjoyed our stay here! I highly recommend this place!!

  • 5/5

Lovely people plenty of room no need to book just turn up owners are around. Showers and toilets very clean.

  • 4/5

Great facilities and an extraordinary view. You can see pen-y-fan from the campsite. There’s a number to call on arrival. Owner is very chilled, came up to us on his motorbike.

  • 5/5

Stayed 4 nights. Beautiful views and quite site. Toilet/shower block clean. Loved that I could walk from my van straight up Brecon Beacons. Owners of field very helpful to me. I had lovely weather, but as grass very long would have been unpleasant if rain and path to shower/toilet block would have been mud. However, I will definitely be back

  • 5/5

Stayed last night Very peaceful spot, absolutely stunning views. Really quiet night aside from the sheep in all surrounding fields :) Really clean toilets and shower facilities. Got a T5 SWB and the lane was big enough for us to get through, however had to reverse for another van coming down. Just be mindful when travelling here :) Overall great experience, will definitely be coming again.

  • 5/5

The view is worth it alone! I have stayed here a number of times. The road is quite narrow and steep so be prepared. There's a new shower and toilet block. And beautiful walks up the Roman road straight from site. It's on a working farm but the owners are super friendly would highly recommend

  • 5/5

We don't usually stay on sites where we have to pay, but this place sounded really good so we thought we'd give it a try - and we were glad we did. Downsides - long single track road to get up here. Little traffic but be prepared to reverse! Also, not many level spots - much of the field slopes. Upsides - stunning views, lots of firepits (and wood) and new toilet/shower block. Well recommended!

  • 5/5

Gorgeous place and ideal for walking up Pen y Fan. Walking from this campsite was far less busy than walking from the other side. We only saw a handful of people on our way there and back. The weather was gorgeous so we expected it to be much busier. New shower and loo block very clean. Lovely farmer has had the farm for generations. Will definitely return and a great find.

  • 5/5

We stayed here over the weekend. It’s a beautiful location which is quiet and a hassle free site. Direct path for walking Pen Y Fan. Owner just asks for a phone call to confirm arrival no pre booking needed. Toilet and showers very clean and drinking water on site. The farmer was very friendly and has firewood to buy at £5 per bag. At £10 per person per night I would highly recommend this spot.

  • 5/5

Great little campsite, in the shadow of Pen y Fan. Very cheap for a great location. Perfect spot for a stopover with route up the mountain from the farm itself. Shower facilities are brand new. Dog friendly and camp fires allowed with firewood available. Access for up to a LWB Sprinter or Crafter, possibly for a small motorhome. Llewelyn is a great host too! Friendly and accommodating!

  • 4/5

Very narrow road up to the field, we managed in our XLWB Sprinter but anything wider would have an issue. Views& location lovely, spots are on the wonk so you would need blocks, our kid fell out of his bunk (onto our bed) as we didn't have any! Friendly farmer, excellent toilet/shower facilities w hot water. Tap but no hoselock fitting, long hose needed. Would recommend! Bargain £5pp

  • 5/5

We’ve now stayed here twice since being in wales! Lovely and quiet with great views. Perfect if you want to climb pen y fan without the crowds. £5 pppn or £2 to park for the day, plus dogs allowed! Narrow road to lead up but we managed fine in our LWB crafter! New toilets/ showers and water point installed too.

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet place with a brand new toilet block (installed the day we arrived). 3 sweet farm dogs too. Easy access to great walks and a very friendly couple who run the farm. 10/10

  • 5/5

Awesome spot! The area for vans is the field opposite the honesty box! Don’t be like me and drive down the one way track until you reach the sheep field. Reversing back all the way was no fun!! Area with hard standing and 4G signal is ok!

  • 5/5

An absolutely perfect spot, could not recommend this enough!

  • 5/5

brilliant place to stay, highly recommended and well worth £5! Beautiful scenery and camp fires allowed

  • 4/5

Cracking little spot with awesome views and perfect for starting point for going up cribyn/Fan y Big/pen y fan! Rustic sloping field with very basic facilities but if you’re self sufficient then the £5 honesty box fee is more than fare. Friendly farmer and dogs and camp fire allowed

  • 5/5

Beautiful views and a lot of space! Definitely will use this again! Thank you

  • 5/5

Lovely site , great access to the mountains . Beautiful views of Fan y big , and adjacent mountains . A bit of a walk to facilities , but new ones are currently being built . Honesty box on entrance to the site . Would recommend. 5*

  • 5/5

Absolutely loved it here! Tight squeeze driving up to the field but managed it in our Ford transit. Had a field to ourselves with incredible views. The farmers were so friendly and gave us great advice for a hiking route. Good phone signal too. Very basic toilet and tap further along the track. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Great site, simple but great value. Toilet a small walk to farm. Slight slope so best to bring chocks but we managed without. Very quite and peaceful.

  • 5/5

A great little spot with beautiful surroundings. We spent the night with four other vans. The road is tight, especially the last mile or so. There is plenty of walking in the area to enjoy and walkers do use it to park so be aware of that when parking. Please respect this amazing spot and take all rubbish with you. Also don't forget the honesty box, we don't want to lose it!

  • 5/5

Lots of room to pick your place. Relatively flat. Amazing views. It is also a parking so be aware that there can be a var parked just feets from your sliding door… And important to notice that there will be a brand new shower and toilet shed soon.

  • 5/5

    Basic, peaceful and Beautiful

  • 5/5

Amazing with great views of pen y fan and surrounding peaks. Toilet and running water facilities in the out buildings down by the farm (there is also a very friendly old dog and pig) Like others have said the roads are narrow and winding but I stayed in my tent box on my car so no issue for me.

  • 5/5

Brilliant stop over. As others have said very narrow road leading to it but once there it’s worth it. Park in the first field you come to and leave £5 per person in the honesty box on the fence, there are toilets and drinking water down in the outbuilding by the farmhouse. The farmer and his wife are very friendly when you see them. Couldn’t fault this stopover whatsoever.

  • 4/5

beautiful views and convenient access to the horseshoe trail, would recommend seeing the diving board. Ideal for T5/transit vans due to small lanes.(NOTE TO DOG OWNERS) the roaming sheepdog is good with people but not other dogs, keep yours on a lead.

  • 5/5

very narrow road but managed in our crafter. honestly box at gate £5per person. toilet down near the farm house very basic but it works. large field. keep dogs on lead due to sheep quite muddy as it's been non stop rain but would defo stay again

  • 5/5

Beautiful views, narrow roads to get there but VW camper was no problem. Good phone signal - spent 2 nights here and worked remotely using 4G. Easy access to hiking routes for pen y fan etc. Definitely recommend.

  • 5/5

Big field with beautiful views. started here for Pen y Fan. dog allowed on field and toilet/ drinking water on main farm. phone signal good. honesty box £5 per person per night

  • 5/5

Lovely location, super friendly farmer, great views of the beacons and a perfect starting point for hikes. Basic toilet and water tap by the main farm. Firewood is available to buy if you catch the owner. Narrow road so probs best for vehicles VW camper sized.
