stopped to take in the view but was to windy so didn't stay but I noticed in small writing at the bottom of information board it says no overnight camping

  • 5/5

Arrived around 8pm, pitch black, only 2 other campers there. The single track down is long and windy, but fully tarmacked and plenty of passing places. Parked up facing the café and woke to the most amazing sunrise behind us! Café open at 11am, toilets signposted and open 24h. Dog drinking water available (assume ok for people too?) Absolutely worth the trip, stunning place!

  • 5/5

Great spot for stopping over night. Well out of the way at the end of a long country road with plenty of passing places. Gets very windy and rainy in November, will definitely revisit in the summer.

  • 5/5

First time away in our converted van and what a great overnight stay we had. Only us and 1 other motor home, scenery is breathtaking with views across to N.I,isle of mann and England. Good walks around the lighthouse with toilets. Will definitely be back

  • 5/5

A great parkup! As previously mentioned, pretty level. Good EE signal (We were able to work for a couple of days here). Worth going into the lighthouse, £3pp for the lighthouse or £5pp for the lighthouse and exhibition rooms. We were fortunate enough to hear the foghorn going during the day too. Would visit again I wouldn't recommend the café nearby. Very over priced for a small amount of food.

  • 5/5

Country lanes once of the main road and plenty of passing places, car park relatively flat, didn't need blocks. Couple of other vans and couple of motorhomes parked up too. Great for wildlife and amazing 360 views of west coast of Scotland down to Cumbria, across to Ireland (too misty too see Isle of Man for us). Cost nothing, bins provided and toilets a 5 minute walk from park. Would recommend.

  • 5/5

Great for an overnight stay. Quiet and a fabulous sunset.

  • 5/5

What a fantastic place to call home. £3 to climb the tower and lots of great walks. Stunning sunsets & sunrises, with beautiful views to the Isle of Man. Tragically, during our visit, a fellow camper fell to his death last night, so I wonder if they might close this beauty spot for overnights. It's a single track toad to the parking, but has plenty of passing places, it was doable for our 7.5m.

My Favourite of Favourites. Weather was excellent, very peaceful sleep. Found an almost flat carpark bay near the lighthouse wall. Met several other campers who were friendly & chatty. Breakfast was nice in the café below, well apart from the haggis which went to the dog as its horrible stuff.

    ładnie, trochę wieje wiatr,polecam

  • 5/5

Great stopover, fantastic views, when the weather is good. arrived about 4.30pm and had a walk round the Lighthouse circular trail. A couple of bands and cars parked up when we arrived, but all left by 6.00pm and we had the carpark to ourselves. The carpark is fairly flat. At this time of year the cafe is only open at weekends. Overall a great place to stop.

  • 5/5

Great views. Hard surface which was great as it was pouring when we arrived. It was windy but it didn’t bother us. Slightly sloping but not enough to worry about. Lovely walks nearby. Rubbish bins available. We were all alone for the night.

  • 5/5

Brilliant views of the sea and of the impressive lighthouse. A bit windy but didn't bother our sleeping. Toilets across to the RSPB next to the lighthouse, appeared to have been open all night though I wasn't brave enough to check in the dark with the wind and rain! A £3 donation for the toilets not compulsory but we did as will maybe stay and use again. Cafe there but didn't use as no dogs.

  • 4/5

lovely place fantastic views bit windy but to be expected

  • 5/5

amazing spot . we had no problem with wind the weather was fantastic luckily. amazing views . cafe and toilets . Good spor to watch out for dolphins. can see isle of man .. lake district and Ireland on a clear day . Will be back

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

give a £3 donation at the RSPB card payment point for the 24 hour toilets. theres also bins and great views

  • 5/5

stunning place to stay but be warned the wind is so bad I was sea sick with the van swaying all night . had to get up in night and move van so it was not hitting us from the side . lovely cafe , good walks but wild

  • 5/5

Stayed last night, was dark when we got there. Was fine until around 3am when woken by the most horrific wind I’ve ever experienced. The van was shaking like mad. Considered moving, but decided to stick it out. Glad we did as views in the morning were amazing. Had a walk around paths near the lighthouse. Sign says no camping refers to the area around the lighthouse, not the car park, so I was told

  • 5/5

Simply stunning. great walks, fantastic scenery. be aware can be very windy. we had to move off the top car park and park down the side on the road as wind was setting alarm off

  • 5/5

A fantastic place for the night although there is now a note pinned to the gate to the lighthouse asking people not to stay overnight so maybe it’s days are numbered. Very windy last night so we were all alone which was an added bonus

  • 4/5

13/9/21 stayed here last night. Lovely spot, 8 vans stayed although room for many more. Toilets are basic, but clean. Saw 2 Short Eared Owls hunting over the long grass near the lighthouse. Would stay again.

  • 4/5

Shared with 4 other vans, unfortunately one draining waste water directly onto the car park - food waste, soap, toothpaste no doubt. Don’t ruin things for the rest of us please. Lighthouse currently closed but views probably not much better from the top than from the headland.

  • 5/5

We had a fantastic stay here. The area was very busy when we arrived as there was a fair on at the lighthouse. As it cleared only two other vans stayed. We watched an owl flying and hunting as well as two kestrels. Short walk to the toilets which remained open Most amazing thing . . . There was no wind at all!

  • 5/5

Clear calm day so stunning views. Carpark gets very busy during the day so either get there early or after 5pm when the excellent nearby cafe closes. Long single track lane to get there. Wonderful stopover.

  • 4/5

Fantastic 360 views. shared with 3 other vans, plenty of space. did get very windy during the night as very exposed. toilets at the lighthouse were clean and open all night.

  • 5/5

Best spot, couldn’t believe how quiet it was and it was free. We had the place to ourselves and toilets are available by the lighthouse. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Lisaburns if you’re not confusing this parking area with the field further down the hill which is owned by a farmer who charges £2.50, then you were scammed; which I can’t believe. Quiet and impressive place.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot up is in the corner, lighthouse behind u. Cafe food is 5star! Charged our phones for us. we stayed on for another night and the farmer came up and had to give him a bit of money to stay, had no issues doing this as we offered it, as our plan is to leave early morning. Toilets open all night at lighthouse. Most beautiful scenery I've ever seen and sunset and sunrises. the perfect spot

  • 5/5

If you get the weather this is a great spot to park up..carpark was nearly full when we arrived bit most people left at 5 or 6 when the cafe closed...it opened at 10 the next day and had a lovely breakfast before heading off.was a bit windy through the night so van was moving quite a bit..never used the toilets so can comment..great spot

  • 5/5

We were so lucky to see the amazing sunset and managed to see sunrise here too all within one night! Clean car park, and toilets were clean too. Lots of passing places along the single track so fairly easy to get to in a larger Motorhome

  • 4/5

Great sunset toilet open all night very quiet

  • 1/5

This was a fabulous spot with beautiful views. spent a peaceful night with no wind blowing. there are toilets in the RSPB centre. their hours are 8am to 8pm. although they didn't get locked up the night we were there. cafe opens at 10 if you need coffee or breakfast

  • 5/5

Spectacular views over to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Bay of Luce. Amazing sunset

  • 5/5

Car park busy in the afternoon and have to be careful with the single track lane heading up to the lighthouse - there are plenty of placing passes to be courteous to other drivers. At 6pm, the car park emptied, leaving me and one other van to stay the night. A pleasant quiet night. This spot is exposed on all sides and therefore very windy so if that is an issue for you, consider staying elsewhere. Would stay again.

  • 3/5

Stayed the night, quite open great views bins provided, cafe open with toilets from 10-5pm

  • 5/5

So beautiful that decided to stay here after our walk. By 7pm we were on our own. Very windy as mentioned before but weather good and sunset exceptional. Parked on level part of car park with back end to the wall for a bit of protection from the wind. Water tap by toilets , will probably boil water before consuming just to be safe.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Lovely walk around the headland. On a sunny day you can see Ireland, Isle of Man, England and Scotland. Good amount of spaces. Cafe opens each day for breakfast at 10am. Very exposed and can get very windy. If the weather is nice it is definitely worth the trip!!

  • 5/5

    Super location! Coffee house!! Toilets..

  • 5/5

Great park up. big carpark, busy during the day, but very quiet over night, fantastic views. toilets open 9-4. outside tap for water, but not sure I'd drink it.

  • 4/5

Kinda busy spot, especially in the day, but amazing 360º views to England, the Isle of Man and Ireland (rain permitting of course). Toilets a short walk from the carpark.

  • 4/5

Good 4G and very exposed and windy

  • 4/5

Get there early! Very popular with both cars and motorhomes, the approach road is single track with passing places for the last five miles.

  • 4/5

Spectacular views and plenty space though could easily get crowded judging by amount of vehoes coming and going

  • 5/5

Superbe endroit pour passer la nuit avec vue sur la mer, le phare, l'Angleterre et L'Irlande !! Très venteux.

  • 5/5

Beautiful view and very quiet place. Has toilet in the visitor center. The journey to reach is rather narrow far in, but its worth the drive.

  • 5/5

Spent a night here “car camping” at the beginning of May (19) fantastic location, plenty of spaces and facilities near the lighthouse. It was pretty windy but great views at night just as the sun was setting and after sunrise

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay at the Lighthouse. Great views and a nice cafe.

  • 5/5

Een prachtig hoog en verziend uitzicht op vuurtoren. Wc op 800 meters náást vuurtoren. Een topplek maar wel winderig ! Gratis met internationaal volk.
