stopped for night in early evening. Quiet after a beautiful sunset. plenty of walkers coming down the path and a few cars in the evening. some rubbish around but not near where we parked. would stop again

I've stayed here numerous times without issue, a great first stopover when arriving in Scotland for me. The sunset views on a clear night are spectacular, especially in mid summer. 4g signal is good and whilst there is a fair bit of rubbish around, I wouldn't let it put you off, this is the gateway to the magic of Scotland!

The view is indeed worth waking up to, and at this time of year the daffodils around the car park are lovely, but it's really a bit of a dump. One of those spots that if it wasn't so close to the city, and was better surfaced, would warrant 4 or 5 stars. As it is, we spent a bit of a noisy, nervous night and wouldn't stop for another in future.

Personally I would avoid, when we got here there was what looked like a burnt out caravan, after reading the older comments on here two people on separate occasions had bricks thrown through their window, such a shame as the location is otherwise nice however seems unsafe, we didn’t stay and found somewhere else instead

Arrived at dusk to a fairly busy car park but waited it out, most cars belonged to walkers who were gone by dark. A couple of other stayed overnight and there were one or two cars pulled in, drove round and left during the night. All in all a nice spot. The only downside was the noisy motorbikes going by on the road that is very close. Lovely view of the hills to wake up to.

great if you have dogs, only downside was there was only a few flat spaces, and alot of rubbish left behind despite signs asking to take home.

grosser Parkplatz; etwas uneben, geht aber für eine Nacht. Am Abend ist dort viel los, wird dann aber bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit ruhig.

BRICKS THROUGH WINDOW. Saw the other comment too late. I too have got an expensive bill. 10:30 at night woke up to pointless scary vandalism. 2 windows broke, I would not advise using this beautiful spot.

We had a car pull in the car park at night and threw two bricks at our van causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage. A pointless crime really.

Great spot for our first night on our trip through Scotland. Excellent walk to the Whangies in the morning. Shame about the rubbish though.

  • 4/5

decent spot for one night. Mostly flat places and the possibility to hike up the hill with a nice view.

  • 4/5

Had to wait for a flat spot, but was good for one night. Busy car park until dusk. Shame about the rubbish.

Brilliant view in a nice carpark quite big could easily get a view campers. is quite busy for the sunset but after that and in the morning nice and quiet only downside is the road. but the sunset is definetly worth it brilliant way to spend your first night.

Very peaceful despite being close to the main road, few other vans here but plenty of room, spectacular views and sunsets to die for. As ever, LEAVE NO TRACE so that spots like this don't get restricted

Only pulled up for a quick lunch but seemed like an alright place to stay overnight, lovely view
