be warned this layby now has CCTV so they try to do you for putting rubbish in the bin!!
Large aire de stationnement avec suffisamment de place pour 5 ou 6 véhicules ou même un poids lourd, à côté d'une petite route (uniquement fréquentée aux heures de pointe) à quelques centaines de mètres de l'A580. Une ligne de train traverse le terrain sur le côté mais les trains ne sont pas si fréquents et assez éloignés pour ne pas déranger. Il y a un McDonald's et un pub à 5 minutes en voiture.
Wide lay-by with enough room for 5 or 6 vehicles or even a HGV, beside a minor road (only busy during rush hour) a few hundred meters from the A580. A train line runs over the field to the side but trains are not that frequent and far enough away to not disturb. There’s a McDonald’s and a pub 5 minutes drive away.
Breites Rastplatz mit genügend Platz für 5 oder 6 Fahrzeuge oder sogar einen LKW, neben einer Nebenstraße (nur während der Hauptverkehrszeit besetzt), einige hundert Meter von der A580 entfernt. Eine Zuglinie fährt über das Feld zur Seite, aber die Züge sind nicht so häufig und weit genug entfernt, um nicht zu stören. Es gibt ein McDonald's und eine Kneipe 5 Autominuten entfernt.

geoffsails09/07/2022Lots of cars zooming past all night, it could be detours in the area but that was a fairly sleepless night though ear plugs would have helped. Otherwise the parking was quite level with a nice view.

Good spot with a couple of bins. sometimes get the odd car on a night eating mcdoanlds. but soon move on. mcdonalds and shops within 15min walk
LaurelFrear01/04/2022stopped for 1 night. Arrived around 9pm. Next to the road but its not very busy and soon quietened down. 2 bins provided. peaceful nights sleep. Only 20-30 minutes outside Warrington.

I live just around the corner from this. Never stayed overnight, but just wanted to add - its only a 10/15 minute walk from a train station, and the high street with 5 pubs/bars, numerous restaurants, a spar and other shops etc. Also walking distance to Haydock Racecourse.

Endroit un peu glauque au bord de la route, assez empruntée avec des trains qui passent aussi de temps en temps. Il y avait des canettes partout et une antenne. On est reparti directement.

Quiet place, good for a one nighter. Arrived around midnight, no one else there. Not much traffic throughout the night, slept well. Traffic picked up in the morning but nothing excessive. Close to the motorway, good for a stopover on the way north
