Always a few campers parked up, free car park next to sports field and canal and river walks.

Entrance is difficult to spot if your not local so the spot is always quiet. You have to go over a little bridge (On the corner of meadow road and canal side) over the canal and it takes you to a single track speed bump road, follow to the car park.

River Trent is a walk across the field and Beeston Weir is a nice view and a chance to paddle and dip your feet weather permitting.

Not suitable. Residential street. Police attend regularly

NOT suitable. This is a residential road . Not a campsite!

great spot, nobody at night. even BlackBerry during August

  • 5/5

great spot, very quiet, leveled, only have to pass over slopy bridge (no problem for short base van), a lot of walks around, great for dogs, pubs walking distance

Stayed overnight on 1st March. Only one other van parked up when I arrived at 23:30. Very flat spacious car park. The bridge is quite steep, but no problem for a short wheel base van (I was in a Vivaro). Very quiet night, a couple of vehicles arrived around 7am to walk dogs.

Just spent a very quiet night here. No noise as the car park is shielded from the nearby road by an embankment. I managed the bridge but my moho is only 5.5m long. I wouldn't recommend trying if your van is over 6m - it's a bit scary! Great for dog walking. I'm told the car park is very busy at the weekend.

The bridge to access the site is a very steep hump back bridge. Unless your van has excellent clearance off the road, or possibly not 6m long you risk losing your exhaust, slide out steps or damaging the waste tanks. Foolishly I tried it very gingerly. The exhaust scraped along the cobbles. I reversed out eventually without damage. Very stressful. Please be careful. Location is lovely though!

giving 3* because although beautiful views bridge is a bit sharp, we actually went back to the the residential bit because as a family with 2 children it was really scary

Stayed here last night, was actually a really lovely spot. About 3:30am two fiestas pulled in and scared the life out of me by revving their engines and doing ‘doughnuts’ in the car park. Was genuinely concerned they’d smash into my van it was that bad. But they left soon enough and after that it was fine. Lovely location.

Parked up on the road alongside the canal, a little bit of road noise in the morning but nothing excessive. A happy camper.

Stayed here overnight Thurs 05/08. Level car park, a litter bin and dog poo bin. A few dog walkers and runners using the field and canal path, and a couple of cars came and went late on, but not bothered by anyone. Nice walk along the towpath in the morning.

The bridge has a weight limit of 3T. We didn't risk it. You drive through a large housing estate to get there and canal street is busy but I imagine once you're over the bridge it would be more secluded feeling.

Brilliant spot, bridge over canal is crossable two pubs, over bridge turn left to Riverside bar or turn right for another pub. Lovely views

The parking spot is a bit boring & next to a large soccer field. We decided to go back out and parked adjacent to the canal on Canal St. Far nicer spot to park & just as quiet.

Great spot. Only van on here all night. Very quiet. Would definitely stop here again !

  • 4/5

We had a nice, quiet night. Football takes place on Sunday morning (we stayed Saturday night) so car park was quite full when we were packing up to leave. Nobody seemed to pay us any attention though.

Stayed there a night a couple of weeks ago, it was a test run of the bed. Quite quiet, but the bridge into it, scraped the underside of the car. So be careful of any low vehicles. A couple of cars came and went in the night, had no idea who they were as we are fully stealth camping and can’t see out
