The Blue Ball Inn - lovely pub/hotel with car park opposite and they allowed me to park overnight in return for eating in the pub. Well worth it, the food was superb, the atmosphere exceptionally welcoming, very dog friendly and I sat by a roaring fire. The walks in the area are spectacular. I tried the coastal path down to Lynton and took the amazing water powered funicular railway, known locally as the Cliffy, up to the cliff top at Lynmouth, then a walk to the Valley of the Rocks and back again up the coastal path, although there’s a longer option via Watersmeet - all in all about 3 hours including a coffee stop. Call the pub before turning up and ask first out of courtesy
