Great spot bit foggy but very quiet overnight

  • 5/5

Pretty grim weather when we went but I’d still give it a 5 star. We had a lovely quiet night, this spot seems to be popular as there were other vans there too. Great walks just outside the van. Views are amazing as you are so high up.

  • 5/5

Lovely view, plenty of parking and nice walks all around. Some traffic noise as parked alongside the road but quietens at night.

  • 5/5

A lovely spot. I live in Sheffield, 20 minutes drive away, and I've stayed here a few times just to get out for a night. Amazing views and the road is very quiet.

  • 5/5

lovely views and good WiFi. Plenty of vans here, even mid week, popular spot. A few potholes in places but also solid brick and flat. Good place to start for plenty of walks.

  • 5/5

Great views, fantastic walking, climbing heaven

  • 5/5

Beautiful sunset and rise, fairly flat, busy but most cars left by 10pm leaving a handful of vanlifers.

  • 4/5

Stayed here two nights with no issues at all. Reasonably flat. No bins. Great views. Only 10 minutes from hathersage for shops, open air swimming pool and exceptionally clean public toilets

  • 5/5

cool place with great views, lots of other campers, cars and overlanding beasts parked up. felt safe as there's lots of you together. no services here. good phone signal.

  • 3/5

This isn’t too bad of a spot. The only reason I can’t give a better rating is because some lads turned up at 3 am with banging music and shining lights towards our vehicles. for about 30 mins. It was also very windy. But I would stay here again if I needed to. Road traffic noise wasn’t too bad through the night also. (16.03.23)

  • 5/5

Really peaceful and quiet during the night. Perfect if you have a dog as there’s lots of walks. There was 8 other campers with us but the area still had lots of space for other cars/vans to park.

  • 5/5

Beautiful and relatively quiet. You won’t be alone as this seems like a well known spot.

  • 5/5

Best spot I've found in the peaks so far. Good phone signal and scenery, however there a lot of vans on the weekends.

  • 4/5

Nice little spot with absolutely beautiful views. Lots of walks in the local area. Very popular though, there where at least 12 other vehicles there when we stayed on a Thursday night.

  • 5/5

Some uneven areas, but can be used to advantage - creep forward til everything is level. Very peaceful once the minor traffic dies down at about 8pm. An amazing sunrise to wake up to.

  • 5/5

Perfect place a few lay-bys along here, flat and great 4G on EE for working. Loads of walks and wildlife with great views defo a must stop

  • 4/5

Brilliant place to park up for the night. nice walks near by. Busy on weekends and holidays, but great panoramic views while your making your dinner/dinner and not many vehicles passing by after 10pm

  • 5/5

One of our favourite spots now. Lovely view, nice flat ground and good internet. Will definitely stay again

  • 5/5

my favourite Peaks spot. usually a few vans overnight midweek, but lots at weekends. no facilities its basically a layby on a side road towards stanage edge and Hathersage. but the view is amazing. and a 4g signal!

  • 4/5

Reasonably flat with some 4g coverage.

  • 3/5

Road is pretty busy, lay-by not particularly flat and the local sheep occasionally bump into your van. Nice views though.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot for an overnight stay in the peaks. Plenty of space after 6pm, nice and flat, not too busy!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot for an overnighter in the Peak District. Easy access to footpaths up to Stanage Edge. Busy during the day, but plenty of space at night. Very little road noise once the day trippers had gone. Beautiful view to wake up to.

  • 5/5

Best sunsets on clear evenings! It’s beside a road and still gets 5 stars. climbers stop here often and make great Van neighbours

  • 5/5

Arrived about 1730 on a Friday and it was nearly empty, lovely sunset over the valley. V flat but quite exposed so is windy. Phone signal fine on EE and 3. Gets very busy in the day with cars for walks over Higger Tor and Stanage Edge. Fine for all size vans.

  • 5/5

beautiful spot, incredibly busy when I arrived considering it was January, I was lucky to get a space! quiteted down in the evening and met some other lovely campers to share the sunset with.

  • 5/5

great spot recommended. Parked Friday night in Jan were around 10 vans. flat with awsome views! the odd car passing at night but nothing much

  • 5/5

Gorgeous place! Flat places to park, peaceful road (at night - a lot going on during the day), feels safe. Sadly some rubbish when we parked up. There were at least 7 other campervans when we were there in November so it is clearly a popular spot.

  • 5/5

Stunning views and close to climbing

  • 4/5

Amazing view for the morning, be aware of miggies though. It was full when we arrived so had to park down the road for few hours and then move to this spot. Lovely walks all around

  • 5/5

Great views and great walks all around, does have a few cars passing but wouldn't say extremely bust like others. one of best places to go and we have now stayed here about 5/6 times and would 100% recommend as never had any bother also get 4g Internet and tv signal.

  • 4/5

Beautiful views over the Dale's and the moors, road is a busy one and lots going on during the day, but lovely walks and the views are just stunning.

  • 2/5

The view is good, and worth the overnight in summer. However, the traffic is heavy and fast moving. Sheep may ram your vehicle, and worse. There are pilots and kite handlers here which can be entertaining, otherwise, it's the short walk to the millstones. I wouldn't recommend a long stay - far from peaceful.

  • 5/5

    Great spot, lovely views!

  • 5/5

Stayed here overnight with no problem. The short walk up to the rocks to watch the sunset was breathtaking. Most of the cars parked during the day had left by early evening. This is only an extended layby following the road for several 100 meters, so no real space to spread out, but ample enough for the night and considering how hard it is to find good wild camping in the area, a bit of a gem.

  • 5/5

I loved this place so much that it became my basecamp while I was in the Peak District and returned each night. I arrived over May bank hol and the weather just got good so it was very busy. Still didnt spoil it though and it got much quieter as the bank holiday got left behind. About 4 vans stayed each night, all a good distance apart with no noise. The road is quiet enough, too.

  • 5/5

Parked up here last night... Was really busy but we found a spot.. Great views.. Great walks.. Quiet night... Will stay here again..

  • 5/5

We just parked up for the day as it was super busy and there wasn’t really space/didn’t fancy staying there overnight (as it was so busy). But a great location and lovely walks round higger tor. Would probably be better at a less busy time (we were here May bank holiday). Very beautiful.

  • 5/5

Fab spot, road can get a little busy but great spot for sunsets and rises. Popular walking spot

  • 5/5

This is my go-to overnight spot in the peaks. Great views to wake up to and very quiet road after around 7pm. Stopped here multiple times and not had any problems, however please keep in mind that wild camping is not strictly legal in the Peaks so there is a chance you could get moved on (as with everywhere else in the Peaks) as this is an exposed spot. Room for at least 10 vans, but can get busy on a nice weekend. Very highly recommend!

  • 5/5

Great place for about 8-10 vans here really quiet amazing views
