Not really a parking place but a public road. Verges are falling away. Local people are not happy with overnight stays and there have been reports of police notification. Locals not happy with litter which is common. I would avoid !

Very quiet and lots of spaces albeit a bit uneven and potholy. Beautiful wood right next door.

Secluded lay-by on a really quiet road. We found next to no cars passed us the whole time. The spot is surrounded by beautiful woods and it was lovely to open the door of the van straight out to see the trees in the morning. We even came back for a second night!

Excellent spot for overnight. A few hard stares from the local farmers, despite being well off the carriageway. When taking the entrance into the woods, head right through the gate and downhill a bit. You will find a gateway into a sheep field where you will get a great view of Chellaston house, the National Trust property, plus a great spot for sunset watching.

Very tranquil. Hardly any cars pass.

Nice spot in the woods. Little bumpy and slight slope in the spot we chose. Few cars up and down, but we had a good night.

Very peaceful spot at night. A bit eerie as it’s so quiet and dark. I don’t think a single car passed after 11pm, but dog walkers park here from early morning as there’s a footpath just off the road that opens up into a large field, so it was perfect for walking our dog. Plenty of space to park. No solar as road is lined with trees. Pretty good 4G on EE.

Beautiful little woodland glade on a small and quiet lane. I’d give it five stars but for the very wet and muddy ground (time of writing: late April). I got stuck! After that, I lost my nerve and moved on, but for those who are not put off by this, it’s a lovely part-shaded spot and very close to the impressive Chastleton House (NT).

Stayed 2 nights 18-19 Feb '23 was the quietest spot we have ever had using P4N. Mobile and data signal was great. only really one spot that's level enough for a large camper - we were in an '01 MWB Boxer apart from that about as perfect as it can get.

Mooie plek aan de rand van de weg die toch geregeld gebruikt wordt tot 23 u. Daarna stil tot half 7 . We voelden ons veilig en hebben goed geslapen. Goed 4 G internet.

Great spot. We sheltered her on a stormy night. Quite and only very little morning commuters. Good dog walking too.

Had my first night here last night. Perfect spot! Very quiet road and an amazing sunset spot. Lots of dog walkers and felt safe. Would stay there again.

Had a very peaceful night here. It’s a great spot, lovely and quiet and dark under the canopy of trees. It’s also just down the road from a National Trust property and there are lots of walks in the area.

As others have said, lovely quiet spot with attractive walks in wildflower meadows

lovely quiet area near footpaths. we stopped for a quick tea and a beer and enjoyed it. would be nice to sleep there, flat and the canopy of trees make it dark

We have a LWB and full time vanlifers, we stayed here for 2 nights and 1 day, really quiet! Only a few cars drove past the whole time we were here, lovely walk to! to a national trust property. Felt safe. Lovely to wake up under the trees

Loved to park here. The multiple foot paths and bridle ways are heaven for dog owners. Quiet during the night but infrequently busy up until 8pm.

Not great in the winter. The verges and laybys are very boggy. We chose to drive on to dryer ground. I imagine this is a lovely spot in the summer as trees line both sides of the road.

A very quiet place. Bit pothole'd but lovely view and forest walk in the morning and a great place to park up for a night.

Great overnight stop off on way home to South Coast. Pretty evening stroll to 2 local villages. Tea and Cake at the Church.... Fab. Morning bird song.

Quiet spot just off the road on a small lane. Surrounded by trees and countryside. Great for one night.

We stayed here for a night. Very quiet road with hardly any traffic, probably only saw 4 cars entire time. Great for an overnight stop.

Perfect for our first ever night wild camping. very quiet road. flat. picturesque. footpaths leading to nearby Chastleton House National Trust property. not sure how firm the ground would be in the wet though... 3 separate pitches
