Very friendly on entry, came when they had building works out front but still had a place to park up. No need to sign over but expected you come in for a Drink/food as usual at any pub

Nice welcome, good beer, lots of room and a quiet night, much appreciated!

Excellent pub, good beer and food with friendly staff. No problem staying overnight, just park at the back of the car park. Right on the Trans Pennine trail and close to Worsbrough Mill. A few miles away from the Elsecar Heritage Centre and Wentworth Woodhouse.

Fantastic Sunday carvery. Great selection of drinks and good prices. Worth every penny and they allow stop overs too. Car park does get busy, but once the carvery has finished at 4 it starts to get quieter so you can move to a bigger spot.

Great stopover and pub staff were really welcoming. Pub grub was good. Lovely cycle along the river on the Trans Pennine way is right on the doorstep. Quiet night and very peaceful morning

Brilliant place, very quiet & safe. It’s at a major crossroads between loads of local walks & tracks and the river. Plenty of space to park outside the pub car park too. Loads of grassy areas for picnics etc & woodland. And that’s before you mention the excellent warm & friendly pub!

Great find! Super friendly Yorkshire welcome from staff and locals and great food. Highly recommend. Bar team very happy to let us stay the night. Great place for a stopover.

Ruhiger Parkplatz, was will man mehr. Eine gute win win Situation!

Busy pub, even on a Wednesday (quiz night). Daily carvery, steaks, sizzling plates and more. Very accommodating. Level car park. Peaceful night.

Fish and chips came out like moby dick. Lovely owner, great peaceful spot, great food. The car park quiet enough to do some remote work in.

Great stop, fantastic value food. The street is congested with a lot of new housing development. A sharp downhill turn into the flat spacious car park. Pleasant walk via the Trans Pennine Trail to Worsborough Mill. Canal long since dissappeared with mining. Nice and quiet, interesting old pub.

Stayed here last night. We phoned pretty late but very warm welcome. Had a drink and a chat with the owner. Had a great nights sleep. So quiet would definitely recommend. I wish I had the chance to sample the food but they’re not open for breakfast. Maybe next time.

Excellent value as everyone else has said.

Rang ahead to see if I could stay overnight in the car park. Such a fabulous welcome and one of the best value pub meals I have had. Great place and so friendly

Our 3rd visit but the first time on a Sunday. We had the Carvery, which was a large delicious Steak Pie served with roasted and mashed potatoes, mushy peas and a Yorkshire pudding. It also came with 6 other vegetables in serving dishes and a large boat of gravy all for £9.50. We needed rolling back to the van we were that full. Great Pub Stop.

We rang up a week before and stayed for free. The staff were friendly and welcoming. AMAZING food and very cheap! Peaceful location and out the way. You can walk/cycle down the Pennine Trail. 2 other campers joined us too. We felt safe due to CCTV overlooking the carpark, 100% recommend, we'll be back!

Great place to stay. Great pub for food and drink. Proper good grub. The guys there are really friendly and welcoming. It’s right by the trans pennine trail, with plenty of walks in the area too. Note, the pub isn’t open on Mondays. We’ve stayed here many times :)
