Good spot overnight- some road noise at night but plus side is toilets & breakfast cafe

  • 4/5

Great spot. We stayed there for 1 night at the end of December. 4 other motorhomes were there. Safe and quiet.

  • 5/5

Great spot to park for a night. It saved us after getting stuck in the hills’ ditch in the wind and rain. This was a life safer. Quiet, we were sheltered from heavy winds and just feels comfortable. I’ll keep this one in mind if we ever drive through this area again.

  • 3/5

Very busy September 2023 (schools back) and a dozen parking bays were cordoned off. Close to busy road, quietens down around midnight until around 6am when the traffic volume picks up.

  • 4/5

Good stopover spot. Very quiet when I was there. I'd tried to find somewhere in Bridport, to get dinner, but the council make it very clear we're not welcome.

  • 4/5

Quiet overnight, plenty of other campers yet plenty of room. Good mobile and 4G signal. No height restriction, variety of parking spaces for anything from motorcycle to heavy goods vehicles. Sadly some bins overflowing with rubbish strewn around them.

  • 5/5

excellent stopover. large, very quiet overnight considering the road. lovely grass and tree area for dog walking.

  • 5/5

Great little stop, like the French Aires.

  • 3/5

not a bad place. I've stayed before and always seems to be other vanlife or campers about. can't see any no overnight signs like others have reported but there is no issue overnight. I'm here Jan 15 2022 in the van with orange mountains on if anyone wants a chat

  • 3/5

Convenient spot with toilets and free. Few wagons pulled in for night but not too noisy.

  • 5/5

Great spot, 4 other vans here. A little Road noise but slept well.

  • 3/5

Zum schlafen passt der Platz soweit und insbesondere, wenn man spät dran ist! Ist aber mehr ein Autobahnparkplatz. Dafür aber funktional.

  • 5/5

Stayed here many times and love the breakfast from the little shack. Never noticed any ‘dogging’ . Lots of people stop to use the loos and the cafe so bound to be coming and goings. Police pop around often too. Some traffic noise but nothing that stops me having a good nights sleep .

Don'tpark here if your a solo female. I stopped here for lunch & to see if it he ok for overnight. Whilst having lunch 2 local men in their 70s kept watching me, 1 in a W van,i asked if there was something here they kept looking at & 1 made a comment how short my kaftan was short at the front. I found this very weird,i felt uncomfortable the whole time. I later found out it is known dogging area

  • 3/5

I stayed for a few hours but moved on. As a solo female traveller, it felt safe but there were a lot of comings and goings (it is a rest area I know) but I just wasn't comfortable. It felt a bit seedy! I probably came at the wrong time. I'm sure it's a perfectly good stopover as others have stated. The signage seems to indicate "24 hr max" although some signs have been defaced to "2 hr max".

  • 1/5

Signs saying Max stay 24 hours have had stickers placed over the 4. Don't know if this has been done officially or not. No indication of penalty for over staying so signs could in any case be legally unenforceable.

  • 4/5

Nice safe spot, stayed here as I was out for Colmer's Hill at sunrise. 24 hour max stay, no return within 2 hours. Cafe with a wide selection of food for the morning, good prices too. Unsure when the toilets close, still open at 18.10 at the time of posting this.

  • 4/5

Sign says max 24 hours. Did not see anything that said no overnight and there were other campers and lorries. Relatively peaceful free stop. The birds are as noisy as the traffic. Yes did spot a few cars with single men but they were all in one area and we did not hear/see anything to concern us.

  • 5/5

There are not any signs that say No parking . There is a sign the states max stay 24 hrs and no return within 2 hrs . There is a lovely cafe here . The public toilets were opened at 6 am but closed by 7pm .

  • 2/5

Pulled in here July 2021 and signs now say no parking overnight

  • 5/5

It's maximum 24 hours stay, not two. Toilets available but locked overnight, and a small cafe doing breakfast and coffee in the morning. Very quiet when we were there, no problems at all.

  • 4/5

Stayed here 26,Oct 2020. really nice, flat with hard standings reasonably quiet bearing mind the A35 is just through the hedge only downside is single guys parked up, no doubt looking for other single blokes. but as a night stop it's ok, we would use it again. cafe is handy for a £5 breakfast as well. PLEASE leave room for the trucks to park..they are working, your just chilling for free

  • 5/5

We have stayed here for one night on many occasions - always motorhomes parked up. Some trucks but never too noisy.

  • 5/5

Been coming here for many years great place and many Motorhomes The only thing you need to be careful of is the unwanted attention in the urinals well know for it here the police patrol at night which is good I can recommend it had a Great Cafe

  • 5/5

Great overnight pitstop, fairly level ground, very little road noise, toilet open when we got up in the morning although sign said toilet only open 0700 till 1700, maybe due to covid? Would definitely recommend and I will be using again in the future.

  • 5/5

Excellent stop off, wish we'd stayed last night! Full of motorhomes that had clearly all stayed overnight when we arrived at 6.30am on our way to Lyme. Toilets opened at 7am.Great stop plenty of room off the main road, toilets and cafe.

  • 1/5

All signs now definitely say max 2 hours parking.

  • 4/5

Stayed here overnight in February 2020 good spot. No problems. Contradicting signs 2 hrs and 24 hrs

  • 4/5

Probable the nearest thing to an aire you well get in the UK and the only one we have come across, so a little diamond in the rough. Modern toilets open all night and campers welcome.

  • 4/5

Stayed overnight with no problems area was full of motorhomes so felt secure. toilets can get busy but quiet after 11pm. good cheap cafe for breakfast.

  • 4/5

Stayed here a few times Sign on entrance says 2 hours maximum stay but sign further on says maximum stay 24 hours. always busy with overnight camper vans, also noticed someone seems to live on site in a caravan which is always parked in the same place.

  • 1/5

The sign is now saying only 2 hours stay max, used to say 24 until a week ago.

  • 4/5

Plenty of spaces and felt safe with other motor homes near by. Clean toilets

  • 4/5

Nice place to stop after a long drive. if you are near a Bush may smell like pee, but overall a good stop

  • 3/5

Good 4g. a bit noisy. level. toilets 24hr. cafe from 7am.

  • 3/5

Good spot, toilets open all night. Only downside it can be a little noisy at times. Next to main road

  • 3/5

A le mérite d'exister, aire de repos en dehors de la route principale. Le bruit de la route ne dérange pas, mais les routiers se lèvent tôt.

  • 3/5

Selon la place choisie et/ou disponible, l'endroit peut s'avérer bruyant...
