Cracking park up for £8! Quiet night and felt safe. Plenty space and no bother parking 7m van. Recommend a wander down to Cherries Farm Cafe, it’s a short pretty walk and there are some lovely independent shops down there too. Very quaint village, will definitely visit again. Only wish Dorset had more spots like this!

  • 4/5

Perfect for overnight there are toilets 5 mins walk away open 24hrs Swan pub has good food just next door

  • 5/5

stayed here for the night with 3 other motorhomes was very nice and quiet.

  • 4/5

Paid parking during the day, £8 at machine or on app. No facilities (bin was overflowing) but Swan Inn right next to it which does amazing food. About 6 campers there overnight, but peaceful and safe. Probably quiet, except for the 2 hour thunder and lightning storm we got to watch!!

  • 4/5

Great place right in the middle of the village very quite night sleep dose get a little busier in the morning great price £8 for 24hr will definitely stay again a great move by the estate to allow motorhomes / campers to stop over

  • 5/5

Perfect spot, well worth the £8/24h. Clean and 24/7 available public toilet a few minutes away with loads is space. There were a few others cars and 3 other campervans, but all very quiet and no disturbances.

  • 5/5

Had a very nice stop here, paid £8 via the app no problems. Quiet village, just 2 other campers when we stayed & one nice local in the morning with her horse. Large and flat spot with shade. Beautiful village to visit for lovely walks & a swannery. Great spot on the Dorset coast which is hard to find overnight parking.

  • 5/5

Fantastic location in a very quaint village, great 4G, toilets 5 mins away and water access in churchyard.

  • 4/5

Netter Wirt, gutes Bier. Bodenständige einfache englische Küche. Wir fanden es gut.

  • 5/5

Absolutely brilliant one night here on 30/04/23, it was nice and quiet. Kids got to play right outside the van on the logs and grass, could see some farm animals. £8 for 24 hours. Pub next door and Public toilets about 4 minutes walk (sign says open 24 hours). Would definitely stay again!

  • 5/5

Great overnight spot. Abbotsbury village car park, £8 for 24 hours via cash, phone or app. Arrived about 5.30pm, lots of spaces, quiet and level. The Swan Inn right next door.

  • 5/5

Lovely little overnight stay! Flat, well maintained, Quiet with a good distance from road. £8 24 hours by machine or app - machine wouldn’t move on after putting the reg in so paid by app instead. Pub next door, although no services there is a 24hr toilet 4 mins walk away. Credit to Abbotsbury as these are well maintained and cleaned regularly! Surrounding area has great views and places to visit.

  • 5/5

Lovely park up for night. Pretty village and quiet. Think it was £8 a night.

  • 5/5

Lovely quite night. Pub next door serves lovely food. Toilets are open all night but are a 5 min walk away (not good if you are desperate) would recommend

  • 2/5

Looking forward to this quiet parkup. However only other van we shared it with had a 5 hour long, loud domestic! Shouting, screaming, car alarm blaring and throwing of articles all around the van. Sadly we fear this will just attract negative attention from the nearby houses which will probably in turn add restrictions to the car park £8 all night, maybe we were just unlucky...

  • 5/5

Great place to spend the night. So quiet, a few steps from the friendly Swan Inn. Highly recommended for a safe and peaceful 'wild' camp. £8 for 24 hours, no services but isn't self sufficiency one of the joys of motorhoming?

  • 5/5

Spent Saturday night here. Quiet location minutes walk from centre of village. Public toilets 4 mins walk away, on Back Street near Tea Rooms. Good walk from car park round Chapel Hill.

  • 5/5

Large, quiet car park, with grass and trees around, paid £8 to park for 24 hours including overnight

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet park up £1 an hour, £8 for 24 hours. pub on hand which serves food until 8pm. 15mins to the beach, which is signposted. Little spar shop in the village where you can pick up most bits you may need.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Stayed overnight on a Saturday in late March. All good. Didn’t seem to be free overnight so paid £8 for 24hrs.

  • 5/5

Nice view, lovely walk to Chesil beach. Pub and spar very close to this car park and quiet at night.

  • 5/5

Great spot to stay over - 8£ for 24hrs very quiet- handy for spar shop …. Well recommend x

  • 5/5

Don't shout, and don't blame us if we're wrong, but we've just been told by a local that the anpr cameras were never fitted. Ilchester Arms booked up but Swan happy to accommodate!

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night and slept very well! Nice and quiet, SPAR and tea rooms nearby. Very cute village to walk around in the morning too.

  • 5/5

Just spent the night here. Very quiet location and friendly locals offering advice on the parking meter.

  • 5/5

A beautiful park up to sleep. Lovely views, a grassy area to pop a table and chairs overlooking some old ruins. Very quiet at night and only 3 other Motorhomes when we were there. The parking machine is working now and takes card or pay by phone. There is a local Spar shop a 5 min walk in the village, direct access to SW Coastal path to Chisel Beach, Abbotsbury Tropical Gardens and Swannery. The monastery is stunning, with a little lake, there were baby ducklings when we were there - access down a little lane from the car park, follow signs for Abbotsbury Flowers. Would definitely park here again.

  • 4/5

£8 for 24hrs handy for strolling around, fairly quiet at night

  • 5/5

What a great place, with a beautiful view! Very tranquil. Machine still not in use - so we may come back again later in the week!

  • 4/5

Great little place to park! No parking metre but would have been happy to pay! Really quiet and a gorgeous little village to explore, aswell as Chesil beach!

  • 3/5

The price has gone up 300%

  • 3/5

Now has cameras and a parking ticket machine...

  • 5/5

Parking machine still broken. Sign says you are welcome for free just keep off grass and take home litter. This village is immaculate, in a lovely stone not unlike cotswold, a sea view not from car park, but a little walk out of it past the church. It is so quiet and relaxed. Plenty of space. would have happily paid whatever. 6.9.2020

  • 5/5

We were very luck as the new machines had a sign saying they are currently out of service and we could park for free. But I would gladly pay for that stay. Amazing scenery.

  • 4/5

NCP machines just been put in today with ANPR on entry/exit. £8 21:00 to 10:00 but no mention of camping/campervans.

  • 5/5

Stayed for 2 nights. No-one was in the sedentary box so didn’t pay anything even though would have been happy to do so. Lovely spot with a few things around to see. Also Weymouth not far. Great meal in the Ilchester. Lovely little village. Would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for a night. Perfect location. Lovely little village. Not very busy and very quiet.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night. on arrival we didn't have to pay as none was there. very clean. alot of cars parked in the day time but soon emptied. 1other motorhome stayed aswel. 2 local pubs the Swan wasn't very nice dated and not very welcoming, the other was the oppersite and served lovely food. a quite night. public toilets at the swannary about half a mile walk

  • 5/5

Nice quiet place to stop. On our visit there were 6-7 other camper vans/motor homes which made it feel safe. Around 6 miles from Weymouth and close to Chesil beach. Public toilets a short walk away in the village. Turn left out of car park, then right into village. Toilets on the right.

  • 5/5

Lovely car park with farm view. There is a notice to pay £3.50 but there was no one in the box so I assume it is for the children’s farm. Village is beautiful with a couple of pubs farm shop and beach a short walk.

  • 5/5

Very nice spot, quiet in winter. Water tap by the church we filled up and another tap at cricket club. Just ask permission at town information for the cricket club. :)

  • 5/5

A great little stopover in a nice little village. Great scenery on the way in both directions. There was no attendant when we arrived at around 4.30pm on a Thursday, we left by 8.30am the next day due to our schedule. Very pleased with this one!

  • 5/5

An ideal overnight stopover in the car park of this pretty little village with its thatched cottages. Very quiet over looking fields. Two pubs in walking distance, the local shop and toilets. There was no one to give parking money to. They should certainly have an honesty box for the quieter months.

  • 5/5

Good bacon from village farm shop. Fresh eggs for sale by car park entrance. Public toilets, 250m, basic but well cleaned even on Christmas Day. Pub staff friendly. A great village and great stopover.

  • 5/5

Quiet, gravel car park, away from main road and in a delightful village. Public toilets a 5-10 minute walk away

  • 4/5

Good little stop over, next to traditional pub with good food. Walking distance to Abbotsbury swannery avoiding narrow road for our 7m motorhome. Reminded us of a typical French village motorhome Aire.

  • 5/5

Schöner Platz unter Bäumen direkt im Ort. Sehr freundlich und ausgesprochen günstig.

  • 5/5

Perfect little spot, very welcoming villagers, lovely pub on the corner of the gravel car park serving decent pub grub at a reasonable price. Arrived at 6pm and left at 10am the next morning, cost us £2! Public toilets about 270m walk away, turn left out of car park, they are just by the church, seem to be open 24 hrs :)

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Perfect location, right next to the swan inn pub

  • 5/5

Really good place to stay. In the heart of the village. No facilities but no problems.

  • 5/5

Really good place to stay in the centre of this lovely village.

  • 5/5

    A perfect spot to treasure.

  • 5/5

Stayed for 1 night on 29th may. Lovely spot near a children’s farm. Very popular so car park was busy during the day. Very quite night. Lovely spot to stop.

  • 5/5

A recommander ?.

  • 5/5

Great little place to stay we have stayed here a few times now! Nice location not too far from Weymouth! can get busy in the mornings depending on the time of year!

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Well worth the £3.50 for a quiet night in beautiful village. Public toilet only 100m away. Great walks from here. Thanks for recommending.

  • 5/5

We arrived in the evening had a meal at the pub next door which was ok. nice and quite, flat. We left in the morning. This was in August but wasn’t busy, just a handful of vans. I would recommend.

  • 4/5

We enjoyed a quiet and relatively calm night despite strong winds and heavy rain in early February. Two other motorhomes parked there, which looked like they were being stored. No one there to take payment and no honesty box either. Parts of the site are slightly sloping but the area at the bottom of the carpark is flat and not under trees.

  • 5/5

Arrived in the dark and left early so nobody was there to pay. A good level spot with plenty of room.

  • 5/5

Spent two very quiet nights here. Great spot in a really lovely village. There was no-one to pay either day we were there and no honesty box to leave a donation.

  • 5/5

Great stopover! quiet. there were 3 other vans here.

  • 5/5

Perfect stopover 20mins from Weymouth, very cheap nice and quite what more do you want.

  • 5/5

Quiet inexpensive overnight parking for motorhomes 100 yards from Abbotsbury. Safe & quiet, worth a visit

  • 4/5

Nuit tranquille.

  • 3/5

Nice for overnight stop. no Toilette or showers.

  • 5/5

Petit village charmant. Payant la journée entre 9h et 18h : 3.5 £ avant 15h, 2.5 £ après.
