Culbokie, Mount Eagle

BLACK ISLE STUD Contact Becky by phone or email. The Black Isle Stud is situated on the North side of the Black Isle, approximately 12 miles from Inverness. Our park is a small, 3 pitch site for motorhomes set in beautiful surroundings with outstanding views to the West and to our magnificent local munro, Ben Wyvis. If you are a lover of peace, tranquility and wildlife then this is the site for you. Buzzards, Red Kites and Ospreys can regularly be seen in the skies above the stud. We share our land with hares and the occasional roe deer. If you’re an early bird you may also be lucky enough to glimpse the red squirrels or a pine marten. From the smallholding, enjoy direct access on to the Millbuie Forest where you can walk and cycle a variety of routes. The village of Culbokie is within walking distance for those who are keen walkers and cyclists. For those who prefer the more leisurely approach to life, we are happy to collect fresh rolls for you from the shop and takeaway meals from the Culbokie Inn. Tai Chi classes and guided walks are also available. The Black Isle is a peninsula, surrounded on 3 sides by the waters of the Cromarty, Moray, Inverness and Beauly Firths. The wonderful beach at Rosemarkie has been loved by families for years — rock pools, sandy beaches, safe swimming waters, a play park and very popular beach cafe are just some of the reasons to visit Rosemarkie. Visit the Cathedral and Chapter House at Fortrose. It was here the legendary Seer Coinnach Odhar was said to have been tried before being taken to Chanonry Point and burned to death in a barrel of tar. Take a walk along the golf course down to Chanonry Point and see the memorial stone dedicated to the Brahan Seer. Whilst you are there, you may be luck enough to spot a dolphin or two. At the tip of the Black Isle, you will find the village of Cromarty. Walk the historic streets and admire the architecture. Visit the Court House and learn more of Cromarty’s past. There are several great places to eat in Cromarty as well as a superb Dutch cheese shop, a bakery and many artistic establishments. Mountain biking; sailing; golf; tennis; walking and horse riding are all available to do on the Black Isle.
