15 places au moins. Cherchez la base du tas de scories au nord du village dans une impasse. Pas le plus plat mais correct, de petites canettes seulement. Près de l'eau courante et des vues, calme et pittoresque. Cafe et Layby sur la route pour un repli.

15 places at least. Look for the base of the slag pile at the north of the village down a dead end road. Not the flattest but ok, small cans only. Near running water and views, quiet and scenic. Cafe and Layby down the road for a fallback. good 4g

Difficult to get to in larger vehicles. Whole car park is on a slope so no level spots. Gets very busy on weekends and in summer!

Very beautiful and peaceful. We were alone at night, in the morning quite some cars with people going for a walk/climb. Acces is steep, but easy if you take the road that passes the lakeside café (not through the village). We are a 6m van, height 2,7m. The road through the village has limited height (low bridge), the other not.

  • 5/5

quite a steep access from the main road. might be tricky for cars with bad traction or during winter. quiet place next to stream and small waterfall. slightly uneven parking spots but nothing to complain about. no bins so keep your rubbish and take it down with you. good views in the morning. plenty of ticks in the green area next to the path.

A good spot to camp for the night, good 4G, the only downside is there’s a slight slope.

such a beautiful place to visit but I wouldn't camp here. but we'll worth going for the day and walking up into the quary. the road up can be quite tricky. very very steep and narrow under a really narrow bridge. crawled up in my vauxhall combo but wouldn't attempt in a big van. not sure if there is another route as I was just following my tomtom

Spent the day here (Sat) but not overnight. Got extremely busy by noon. Carpark slopes quite a lot so i chose to move along to the cafe down the road to spend the night there. Beautiful walks here, we got soaked but had a great time tiring dogs. No bins, lots of water though. Come at it from the left, not the right like i did! Had to go up in 1st gear after the bridge i just squeezed through.

really nice parkup is on a slope didn't bother me to much. access is ok in a 6m van depends on with way you come in .

Good park up, not the cleanest of places quite a lot of rubbish dumped in various places which is a shame, plenty of room I arrived @7pm and left @10am amazing views if you want to explore and a minutes walk to a good waterfall, plenty of room for roughly 15 vans if needed. Take your litter home or dispose of correctly as this place won’t be around for long if it continues

  • 5/5

Steep and windy to get to. Lots of rubbish but did some litter picking whilst the tea was on. The site really needs a bin and dog plop bag bin, witnessed dog plop bag drops! (try to say that quickly) Difficult to find a level spot. Great views, sounds of waterfalls and quiet past 9pm and still nobody at 7.50am on a Thursday morning. Apparently a great walk. Enjoy and take your rubbish

Here tonight. It is very busy in the day but we got here about 10am and it was fine. Parked to walk the mountains and have stayed. Everyone gone by 9pm. We did try here a couple of months back in the day and had to reverse back down the hill as it was packed. If you know how to reverse it’s not a problem ;)

Attempted this at 5pm in a VW LT, 5m x 2.5m, DO NOT ATTEMPT. Got there and Carpark full, Road up is super super steep and narrow and windy and had nowhere and noway to reverse. Only someone came to move 2 x cars I would have been stuck. Also completely sloped, no flat parking.

Lovely spot right up in the mountains. Very quiet at night but gets very busy in the day. Ok for a LWB Crafter but anything larger will struggle. Makes sure you don't get hemmed in. I would suggest backing into a space. Lots of really good walking in the area.

Parked up on Tuesday evening, had a lovely walk around the old quarry and lake , I was going to park up for the night but it was open and very windy so moved further down into the village. I would have been happy to spend the night here if the weather conditions were better

  • 4/5

Beautiful views. Shame about all the rubbish round and doggy poo bags. On this we did not stop the night and move on.

  • 5/5

lovely spot very busy in the morning though!

  • 5/5

stunning little spot not sheltered so don't go if super windy go in over train line if bigger than a crafter as roads are very skinny.

  • 5/5

Nice spot. very windy. step hill to get here. good 4g.

  • 5/5

Nice overnighter. Some people at night who just park and sit in their cars. It gets busy in the morning, as it is the start point if a really nice walk through an old slate quarry (must do) it was very windy and it rained a lot the day we arrived. That made the near by waterfall very impressive. But nice and sunny the next day. Please leave no traces behind ;)

I think the previous reviewer took the wrong turn, as there is no gate or restrictions at all. absolutely superb place to park for the night. Ground is uneven but OK with levelling blocks 50metres from waterfall. We even topped up water tank from it. Maybe not suitable for large motorhomes. can get quite busy during day.

  • 1/5

Sadly does not look like parking any more. Gate with brand new lock and sign stating no parking. Double yellow line all the way along the access road from the café.

  • 4/5

I didn't read comments and I almost lost my solar panels. Happily there is another way (go through the power station gate). Nice place, nice walks, quiet in the evening but daytime is busy. And almost all space is slope

  • 3/5

I'm a huge fan of this area but I don't think this car park is really suitable for overnight stays. It's not level and gets very busy early in the day with walkers. Better to sleep elsewhere and arrive for a cup of coffee before a hike.

LOW BRIDGE Great site for an overnight stay, no amenities but quite. There is a low bridge (7'6") if entering from Cwmorthin Road can go around though.
