Free day and overnight parking on both tarmaced and compacted beach front parking area. Parking allowed on the quayside as you approach as well so if it gets a bit windy by the beach you can hide from the wind on the quay behind the high wall.

parked here for the night very windy but great no problems

Great views and nice quiet :)

Wow, lovely place to stop, if the weather was fine the beach on the doorstep, parked up for hour or so the gale hit salty sea water being blown over the van, the wind was rocking the van so moved on to the road behind the bank adjacent to the marina, very quiet. Noticed no stopover signs in the area near the lock gates, lovely place to stop, definitely be going back during the summer months.

Lovely place to stop with great views although during the night someone had thrown rubbish under and around my van, while making morning coffee was wondering why so many people were looking in my direction, all picked up but please check before you drive away

Maryport local and van user here. We don't mind overnight parking at all. You are welcome. But I would only use the coastal stops in good weather as high wind will cover your van with salt water and storm seas can be as high as the wall at the top of the slope behind you. Maryport's bad reputation is laughable, you are welcome to stay

Fijne plek, met veel ruimte voor verschillende voertuigen. Wel druk met mensen en vissers. Maar dicht bij het dorp.

this place used to be really nice. People walk their dogs and don't pick up after them. there is a bin. however, people don't know how to use it.the sunset is amazing, though, and plenty of fishermen to watch.

Endroit exceptionnel! Tranquille sans interdiction et gratuit. Coucher de soleil spectaculaire.

Lovely spot, very busy with other vans, fishermen, dog walkers and walkers. Very nice, peaceful, beautiful views. Lots of space for parking, no bins or facilities. But we did get a food delivery from Sadies Takeaway to the van which was great!

Great place. Near town. Stayed November 5th so had free fireworks early evening.

  • 5/5

beautiful, stunning, gorgeous is all I have to say very happy campers

  • 5/5

Loved it. Beautiful ocean views, not bothered by anyone and surrounded by another 4 campers. Little service and no toilets but does have a bin in the little carpark. Would happily stay again.

spent Saturday and Sunday night here and although there's no services it really is a great spot and a pleasant 10.15 minutes to the town centre which has an array of pubs and eating places. thoroughly recommend

  • 5/5

free to park with lots of space and on the sea front. coast walk from the car park which is a bonus. no facilities but fine if you plan ahead. local dog walkers and folk fishing visit but no negative comments. there is a camp site close by if you prefer but no parking g signs on the actual Quay side. I think the town is perhaps still recovering so didn't venture in but didn't need to with views

  • 5/5

Great spot but is exposed so in high winds or storm surges I wouldn't stay here. The location description says you can stay on the protected approach road Quay side but this not the case as there's signage saying no overnight parking.

just stayed here for 3 days great spot friendly locals no bother at all felt as safe as anywhere else as a full timer some of these comments are obviously from the new breed of 50,000 pound m/homes, if you are scared of wild camping go on a site where you belong.

stunning spot, no bin but so lovely and scenic and the sunset is amazing! and bonus has phone signal lol

  • 5/5

stayed last week.Absolutely a little gem. no facilties but who cares when u got everything u need with you. few people come in cars to walk their dogs. never bothered us. a man in another motorhome from Evesham came and introduced himself. both of the vans stayed the night and why not when it's free

  • 5/5

Parked in December. Only van. Beautiful sunset but slightly exposed to wind, however flat and tarmaced. No facilities, but we don't need them and it's FREE!

  • 3/5

A few campers here. loved it. lovely sunset. no facilities but worth it for the views. EDIT:- parked here back in Sept and reviewed it below but came back 18 Jan and winds 40mph - was the worst night sleep ever in the camper. the other parking spots up Kings Street are more sheltered which is where we moved to at 4am after no sleep! so great spot still just not one for high winds

Stayed 1 night 8th Oct. Good spot with excellent views. Very very busy that night with people driving onto the beach and people watching the sunset. Night fishermen upto around 3am too. A local psycho kept flying round in his blue people carrier, driving like a knob and staring at everyone, No bother but slightly off putting. Noise trailed off around midnight and had a peaceful nights sleep.

Great place to stay overnight, there were a few camper vans here. Brilliant views of the beach and no trouble at all.

Here at the moment after a long drive from Fort William & what a location ! don’t bother with the other two in the area (unless this is full / only 3 here at moment & loads of room)!!. beautiful sunset & 5 yards from the beach !

  • 4/5

Great spot, but you have to drive past the lighthouse and around the corner to get to it (postcode takes you to an area you can't park at, pin on here is correct). Gravelled area literally on the sea front, so it is a bit windy. Nice breezy walk along the sea front though!

Don’t listen to the comment about Maryport being a bad place to stay. Maryport is a lovely sea side town with lots to do and amazing sunsets. Nice little place this to park and stay overnight. Full campsite just around the corner by the marina if wanting electric hook up. Don’t drive past it’s worth a visit.

Be very careful stopping overnight in Meryport. It’s well known as a bit of a bad area. Apart from that it’s a good spot. Nice aquarium near by and plenty of shops.
