Great spot, awesome ocean sights and sounds. Sea very rough which I loved, access doesn’t have to be via the other car park. But it does say it only charges if your on that car park more than ten minutes so passing through should be ok (went to check signs just in case)

The best park for night spot with high van- was right on the beach front opening the doors to the sea. Loads of spaces- even though lots of walkers and people about it was fine as was set up in front of van. Felt very secluded xxxx will defo be back

It’s not exactly “in the middle of nature”, but the pictures give a good idea. Some fishers come here in the evening when the tide comes in, and can be a bit noisy. Otherwise calm and uneventful night, waking up by the sea! Many joggers and dog walkers in the morning, which just adds to the safety of the place.

Lovely view, fair amount of people walking through during the day. Few cars going past too, but nothing that disturbed us at all. We found it a lovely spot with the view and sound of the waves. Walking distance to shops and pubs/restaurants too. For a free parking spot with no height restrictions, great spot for a campervan if you’re visiting Margate!

Had my very first overnight stay in my first motorhome here. It's a lovely spot with a great view. Few other campers about too and had my dog with me so felt safe (I'm a solo female). There were a few late night cars driving along there and someone singing very loudly at 4am but otherwise, nice and quiet with the sound of the waves as background noise. I would stay again.

This is my kind of spot … and one of my favourites around these parts. Didn’t move for 2 days and 2 nights over the weekend … flat, against the railings. Very calm, and with the soothing sound of the waves on the sea wall made this an ideal spot to decompress. A short wander into town for a meal and provisions and a brisk walk along the promenade and beach. What more do you need on 1st October… ?!

Free parking, loads of space for vans. Parked right against the railing so had a lovely view of the sea and beach. Although the view the other way is pretty grim. The area also felt a bit dodgy so I prob wouldn’t stay again.

Absolut asozial! Wir sind doch keine Penner.

Great spot on old promenade near the old town of Margate. Free, level, clean. Stayed here three nights using it as a base to visit Deal and Canterbury where overnight options are not as attractive. Never had a problem finding a spot. The later you arrive the better your chances. In theory 20 - 30 vans could park here not the two as mentioned above!

mega Spot, bin gleich 2 Nächte geblieben! Genug Platz und wenn nicht ist weiter östlich ein weiterer Parkplatz. Guckt euch die Muschelgrotte an! Sanitär ist etwas tricky, aber grandioser Spot

Absolutely beautiful place to park! Parked with my side door right up against the railing overlooking the sea. Super close to town but still really quiet. I’d recommend not parking too far down like I did as it’s a dead end so you have a lot of cars turning round. Signal was a bit temperamental which made working quite hard. Have a O2 and EE sim, one minute would have 5G, then next minute nothing.

Beautiful spot close to town with plenty of space! Went to sleep listening to the waves, very peaceful. Will definitely be back.

  • 5/5

free parking with no time limits. can stay overnight. place super close to the sea. There is a cafe upstairs where you can eat breakfast and drink coffee. near the town, sand beach, playground and aldi supermarket :D we will come back here

Free level parking. Quite, especially overnight. Parking side on, tight next to sea and hearing calming sea waves throughout our stay. 12 min walk to Ramsgate and an hour walk to Botany Bay beach the opposite direction. 4G on both our networks. Stayed here a couple of times and highly recommend it.

top spot, even with a biting northeasterly breeze 4G worked for me fine wheelie bins by ramp to beach

Stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday, with our sliding door facing straight out to sea. Lovely. As it's a dead end, any cars that do go past tend to go slowly. Also the cliff at the back blocks most of the noise from the main road above. So, it's a surprisingly quiet place. Very poor internet on the 3 network early mornings and late nights, almost no internet at all for the rest of the day.

stayed overnight for 2 nights. free, quiet, right on the sea front, about 10/15 minute walk into town, great spot. bit concrete around but just face your windows/door to the sea. park down the far end and can walk up to Forts for breakfast, which is a great little cafe. plenty of space in the morning/evening, did get a little busier during the day. no internet signal tho

  • 4/5

Great free spot but I wouldn’t call it “surrounded by nature”. It is a concrete embankment by the sea. Plenty of space to park and very close to town centre.

  • 4/5

Fantastic spot, can't believe it's free to park! we parked up right next to the sea. there were a few campers there with us, it felt very safe, very peaceful we got a great night's sleep. Close to Olympia cafe (good cooked breakfasts). 5 min walk into town and close to Walpole tidal pool.

  • 5/5

Excellent peaceful free spot with fantastic views of the sea and the sunset. Plenty of room for larger motorhomes, our internet signal wasn't great.

Went to park here on a Friday morning (930ish) and the barrier was closed
