Ferry Lane. Un endroit insolent sur la rivière locale, sans restrictions de stationnement

Ferry Lane. Cheeky local river spot with no parking restrictions. So no park in the turn around part at the bottom on the left when you drive down or near that area. It makes life difficult for everyone and if people keep doing this could cause problems for us all in the future. Best to arrive late after 1900 or early before noon to get a good spot.

Not suitable, now says no parking at the bottom. No room to park at the side unless in a car. Couldn’t stay here.

Not suitable for larger motorhomes! It’s a long narrow access road, when I visited there were several cars parked and a transit sized van which blocked the turnaround point at the end. I had to do a 9 point turn and lost a fog light in the process (5.5m hymer) which was not fun at all. I moved to the Nearby lay-by which was fine.

Very beautiful spot. Peaceful and quiet at night, but many people (with boats) from early in the morning until late in the evening.

  • 1/5

Attention, très bel endroit, mais plutôt 6 places de voitures a l'arrivée. Pas possible de rester pour un camping car ou un fourgon, et très peu de place pour manoeuvrer en bas. Van ok.

Really nice, quiet little spot. Nice spot for a swim as well. Hikers start to arrive around the 7am, but not too many. Not a lot of room to park, but we were here in peak/Summer season, and we were the only ones here, so it's unlikely you'll be crowded out. Great place to stay. No restriction on staying.

    amazing wild swimming spot

This is indeed a lovely spot, right at the waters edge. We have 4 Starred it because we had a car of local lads turn up at 2am. They didn’t disturb us and actually turned down their music, and were gone after 15 mins, but then we had a guy with a very bright head torch looking in the bushes at 3am. Think we were unlucky, though, reading others experiences. We would come back, 100%.

Lovely spot - small though. Pretty with the river, swans & ducks and river walks in both directions (dog walkers generally prefer the left side) & a nice walk to the train bridge on the right. Very popular with dog walkers.

quite alot of low hanging branches on the track in and not alotof space to turn round at the end. that said pitch black and quiet brilliant little stop over

A great park up on the Thames! Lots of dog walkers and swimmers but no issues with parking there. We stared a night and it was quiet and peaceful

Amazing beautiful spot with 5 m to the Themse river

  • 4/5

Lovely quiet spot for the night at the end of the lane.

Stayed here one night, slept great very quiet at night but busy during the day with people coming and going as it's a popular spot for lauching kayaks or going for open water swims, saw plenty of locals that were friendly enough, had great fun on our paddleboards, lovely little spot

Stayed here last night, great spot, very calm and warm enough to go for a swim. Cornershop (with atm) and pub up the road on Papist way.

Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and it was a pleasure! All the locals were really friendly… a lot of people coming and going launching there kayaks etc from here! Very quiet at night, we were the only camper!!

Approaching your destination you need full faith in your fellow travellers that this is the right place as you narrowly avoid the overhanging trees on your narrow bumpy journey. You arrive at the Thames at a small turning area. Outside of this drama the place is ideal, everything you hope for in a wild camp. no doubt I will one day see the signs "no overnight parking" but until then, enjoy!

Stopped off here for a night on route to Cornwall (coming from Bolton)..... Friendly locals, quiet at night good sleep.... Brilliant spot.... 2 bins at end of lane by the river USE

Fantastic spot for a night. 3 other vans there when we arrived, plenty of space for us to park up. Amazing location, very peaceful.

  • 5/5

Very quiet, and if we had a summer, would be a lovely spot by The Thames. River path in both directions.

  • 5/5

Beautiful, peaceful spot by the river with walks in both directions. Great place for taking your SUP or kayak in - with lots of other folk coming and doing just that. Just about space to turn round a 7m van at the bottom end (there is a sign saying not to park there and block other drivers’ turning space!)

  • 5/5

Lovely place to park up for the night and barbecue and nice walks by the river. Easy access to the water making it ideal for swimming and kayaking etc.

  • 5/5

Good spot for a 1 nighter, if you’re totally self sufficient (no facilities or shops nearby). Esp if you plan to go for a paddle, as its essentially a dead end right next to the waters edge. I woke up in the night wondering if the water crept up washed is away - it didn’t :)

Really cute spot. we spend the night. another van was there. very quiet. the view in the morning was perfect. though bear in mind that people come quite early to go fishing.

Stayed here one night, narrow access fine for a Van. Busy in evening with people using river but very quiet night.. Access to walk Thames Path..
