Stunning location right next to the lake. It was so quiet this time of year and not too far from the ferry to cross over the lake to Bowness. We parked our van here and didn’t have any problems.

Great place to park for the day with access directly into the lake for paddle boarding and swimming. Little cafe just back down the road, and space to turn around. Stayed for 6 hours or so yesterday afternoon. A few other cars and vans around, but plenty of space and it didn’t feel busy.

Had a national trust knock on our camper and say it’s a no camping zone and the warden may come out and move us along however we waited and no one came. Great view though.

    expect to be moved on

Stayed here multiple times with no issues. Can get busy with other vans but still a nice quiet place

  • 5/5

Amazing spot, very relaxing and lots of fellow van lifers

  • 5/5

Great park up, very quiet! Good for water sports paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming.

  • 1/5

Signage clearly stating no overnight parking or camping

Great spot, there was only us and one other person there. The road was quiet and has access right onto the lake and woke up facing the sunrise. The road leading there was particularly narrow, I would recommend getting the ferry across if it is operating.

Stayed here a dozen times and I’ve never been bothered by the rangers. Easiest option is to get the ferry over which costs £5-£10 each way. Do check in advance that the ferry is operating otherwise you will add 25-30 minutes to your journey. Gets busy around 5-6pm but everyone is friendly and keeps their distance. There’s 2-3 ‘stone beaches’ which are perfect for swimming or paddleboarding.

Great spot, it's free. You have to be here early or there's no space. There is space for around 5 vans. You can get the ferry 1 mile down the road for £1 per person or £10 for a van over 6M. Cheaper to do the ferry than park in windermere town. Nice and flat but no over night stays allowed.

A beautiful little spot and many other places to park around. No facilities. Someone left their rubbish which spoilt it for everyone. Please! Let's leave no trace and get a good name for our hobby!!!

Great spot, would highly recommend for paddle boarding launching or swimming!!

There are no overnight stays at this location and clear signage from the National Trust to this effect. Expect to be moved on.

Amazing place with gorgeous view. Unfortunately all against over night stays. Once again big thank you to those who don't respect the nature and places of outstanding beauty. Please be aware that you will be asked to move by the ranger of National Trust

Brilliant stop, peaceful, police even passed and didn't even stop. would stay again, Couple of other vans and some campers in tents. Great 4g signal with Vodafone

Third time we've stayed here and still this place is amazing so quite and peaceful, beautiful to wake up next the the waters edge.

  • 5/5

Gorgeous spot. All you can hear is the birds landing on the lake. Perfect for taking the dog for a walk in the morning. I am very much looking forward to coming back here

Nice quite place, was the only van there for the night, good places to go for a walk.

What an amazing place to stay right on the waters edge we stayed for tonight's so peaceful at night a few vans stayed both nights, wasn't disturbed at any point lovely to wake up with the view of the lake.

We arrive at 9pm to this place and it was completely empty, very quite at night, just the sound of ducks and nature. In morning people walking around to visit this place but didnt disturb us The access road is tight and windy so a bit of a challenge for larger vehicles but we managed We really liked the spot

  • 4/5

Excellent view over the lake, we were not disturbed overnight. the access road is tight and windy so a bit of a challenge for larger vehicles. it's labelled in Google maps as a sailing car park

  • 5/5

Probably as good as it gets if you want to be right by the lake. We were not moved on however I would keep your shorts on just in case you are. Don’t try and go any further down the track or you will get stuck.

Got moved on by police, fire and environmental agency.

Stayed here not to long ago really nice

Superb spot. Close to the car ferry across to Bowness. Toilet block available which is open all night. The Cuckoo Brow inn is about a 30min walk away. There are a few park ups along this stretch of the lake. Excellent.
