Nice quiet, sheltered from the wind. Space under trees on a large lake with picnic table and swimming opportunity.

sophandthebears05/10/2021We stayed back in September 2020 when you could stay overnight. Shame it has changed but recommended even for a quick lunch stop. Quiet and wildly beautiful. Some paddleboarders were enjoying the lake. Worth a visit even if you can't stay unfortunately.

No overnight parking or campfires signs positioned all around car park and horse shoe area. I believe the locals are fed up with the litter and human excrement close to the water. I’ve been informed that the Loch is the local residents drinking water so I’m not surprised they have taken steps to ban overnight parking.

Stayed here at the start of November for one night. Main car park was full so parked in the Horseshoe bit. Level ground and great views of the Loch. Quiet night.

Stayed just above the main parking in the same horseshoe part mentioned in another comment. Really clean (so hopefully it stays that way), Zero midges, because of the time of year. Seems to be an open water swimming loch (crazy people...brrrrrr very cold)... but a really great spot for a campervan. Zero signal for vodaphone though, but that’s a bonus depending on how you look at it.
Martybhoy27/08/2020We parked in the horse shoe bit above the main area ant it was absolutely ideal. Level and slightly muddy but no issues. No litter to speak of. Quiet at night. Place was half full at night but locals said it can get very busy which I can understand having now stayed there. Loch is great for all types of water activities. Definitely recommend.

Great spot we stayed just off the forestry commission parking site in our large 7.5m campervan as marked here. Just down the road we’re plenty of spots for camper vans in the forest site but it was busy with others when we arrived. Popular with locals after school. (There are a few rope swings so great for the kids.)

Brilliant view. Loch is great for boating, swimming or paddling. Car park was quite busy but we went at the height of summer just after lockdown had ended. No reception at all for Vodafone or O2 but Three had at least a weak signal which was good enough for a video call.

Schöner Parkplatz! Die Nähe zur Straße ist egal, da wenig befahren. Keine Mülleimer, dafür Bänke und ein Tisch. Bei uns gab es kein Handy Empfang.
