Amazing spot.

Parking for motorhomes 24 hour £11.40 plus £4 to stay overnight..(6pm - 8am). Don't forget to press yellow button for over night stay ticket. App to pay online also available(see machine).

Ok to clear a few things up! I’m currently here now, and just spoke to a traffic enforcement officer! You’re fine to park here for overnight as they have no jurisdiction to tell you otherwise! As long as you pay the correct amount (use app and it’s a rolling time) you can’t overhand the white lines at the back by more than 0.5 metres! I’m 6.4 M and my van is completely ok! I hope this helps!

Can be noisy overnight with waves, drivers, seagulls and music. Gorgeous view to wake up to. Toilets 30p and out side showers free. Shops and pier with award winning fish & chips near buy. Close to train station and lidl on high st. Do not overhang the cobbles at the back or risk a fine - see comments for more information.

There is a water tap next to the pier opposite the toilets and outdoor showers attached to the toilet block. There are plenty of bins that allow bigger rubbish bags. You can also BBQ with no problem.

£25/50 Parking ticket even though paid £11 for 24 hours and parked adequately. The van next to us also got a ticket too (but very badly parked to be fair).

  • 5/5

Great location. We stayed in a MWB camper on 08/11/23 - no issues other than a few drunks walking past at night. Highly recommend this spot

  • 5/5

excellent overnight spot, right next to the beach & with a fantastic children's play park close by. Make sure you buy a parking ticket as the wardens are out late in the evening & early morning, £11.60 for 24 hours.

  • 4/5

All I can say is be persistent with looping round to get a space…. Took over an hour and just about to give up! Haha! The view is worth it.

  • 4/5

We stayed here for 2 nights. Beautiful sunrise and lovely morning strolls down the beach. If you are lucky you can find some fossils too. it was a bit noisy in the early hours as some seagulls had an argument on our roof. make sure you don't overhang the wall with your bike rack, we got a ticket aswell.

  • 3/5

Yes we were one of the campers with the bike rack overhanging the stones at the rear. paid the parking £11.60 but still got a ticket £25 if paid in 14 days my advise but bother getting a ticket and take the fine, good spot otherwise

  • 3/5

This is a lovely place to park. But many parking tickets are given out throuth the day. Over 6 mtrs you are likely bto get a ticket. Over the front lines or even a bicycle rack over the stones at the back will give you a ticket. Today 2 camper vans both received tickets. One had a bike rack a little bit into rear pavement. The other could see no reason why. If in doubt maybe better

  • 4/5

Good car park with nice views to wake up to. Can get very loud at night. Stayed there for 1 night in Peugeot Boxer and parking was just over £11 for 24 hours

  • 4/5

Arrived at 12:30pm paid via app had a 24 hour counter on it so didn’t have to press the (yellow button) as was clear if paying via machine but not so if paying via app, but non the less did the night fair was on but didn’t find it too bad they shut it all down bang on 10pm woke up the next day 7am stayed till around 10am with 0 problems would defo stay again. (Granted you can get a space ?)

  • 5/5

Great overnight park up practically on the beach. Spoke to a traffic warden and she advised I pay via the app. Park up was quiet overnight except for the sea. Had nearby toilets. A few other campers, would stay again!

  • 1/5

Actually stayed south of the pier near the cinema but wondering whether we should have, also only paid for the 24 hour period, no special overnight payment. We didn't get a ticket. Was a bit noisy until 1am but woke up to a beautiful view.

  • 1/5

no good now if your bigger than a transit van got 2parking tickets one in the nite at 1825 I didn't see it and one in the morning ar 0810 both for being 50cm overhang over the wall not even hanging over the path joke blokes obviously on a power trip be aware unless all four corners are in the bay you will get a ticket

  • 2/5

  • 2/5

Great place for small cars, vans. If you are over 5.5meters long do not park or you will get ticket. Paid for the parking and got extra ticket because we have been “overhanging” over kerb” 10-15 motorhomes found out tickets today morning.

  • 5/5

Great place, fantastic views! Lots of other vans parked also. £10.20 to park for 24 hours. Toilets close by. Noise died down at around 21:30-22:00. 100% recommend!!

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Excellent place to stay. Can pay cash at machine or via Ringgo app. 24hr / £10.20. Can stay for multiple days. Plenty of spaces either side of pier. Quietened down late on and there was no trouble. Felt very safe. Staff in attendance very pleasant, approachable & helpful. Biggest disappointment were other mobile home / campervan drivers who encroached on spaces, blocking access. Shame...

  • 4/5

used the app to stay here, wasn't an issue. handy spot overlooking the beach and the sea, lovely. was here late julyn2022 around 8 other vans here overnight, fair ground/ circus was setting up near by but this shouldn't be an issue at night time for sleeping. Great spot really, sun,sea and beach.

  • 3/5

Seems they’ve changed the payment option now. All machines seem to be decommissioned so have to use app, no option for the cheap overnight rate just the £10.30 for 24hrs. Will see how the night goes and if I wake to a ticket

  • 5/5

Amazing view to wake up too, felt safe and secure, would recommend

  • 1/5

Paid for parking, still got ticket as even though wheels in bays, we were overhanging”. Crazy as nowhere else to park camper during the day to shop/eat or overnight as many sites in area were closed. Ticket attendant did not give us any opportunity to re-position or move even though we were sitting in camper. Very few cars parked, but plenty of racing on scooters during the night and drone being flown over our camper. Did not feel very safe here. AVOID

  • 4/5

Just parked here for two nights 30/10/21 no issue with parking woke up to,some great views, don’t use ring go app, as they charge 18:00:to 06:00 so cost us £6.60 pay your £4.00 cash, then you get 18:00 to 08:00

  • 2/5

Parking attendant is an arse. Pounced on me as soon as I pulled in. Told her don’t worry I’m parking across 2 bays and will pay for both. This wasn’t good enough as she said I was overhanging. Literally like an inch! Made me pay for 3 bays! With the comment ‘make sure you pay!! Wish I’d known fine was £25, I’d of not bothered paying the £30! I mean the view is stunning, so we are staying. But I’m not impressed with the attitude of people here so far! Not had any nice service from a single person yet. Miserable is the word of the day… disappointing

  • 4/5

Nice view over the bay. wonderfull sun rise

  • 5/5

Stayed here 3 nights, £10 a day, no issues. loved waking up on the beach.

  • 4/5

Parked up about 8.30pm. was very bust with surfers as there was a storm coming in. was quieter from 11pm. funfair behind us was busy until 10pm. no problem so far. used ring and go for parking. on the machine says over night 6pm to 8am £4.plenty of other campers staying over night. Public toilets just up by cafe. Cafe open up from 7am doing hot drinks and food until late. definitely recommend

  • 3/5

Very convenient to town.Nice view. Noise at night from bars and pier but no trouble. TRAFFIC WARDENS are what all the reviews say they are! I paid for an overnight stay in 2bays(7.4m MH) and got a fine at 08:11 the following morning! No grace period! If staying the night and a day in 2 bays I would just take a fine from the start next time as it would work out cheaper and less stress.Fine is £25.

  • 4/5

No problems at all stopping the night in a LWB t5. Parked correctly in the bay and just fits. £4 from 6pm till 8am. ground not level but was not a problem for me. right by the sea. Great views. toilets not 24 hour

  • 1/5

Take a fine or park across & pay for 2 bays the parking attendant (old guy with glasses)told us. Apparently the cobbled path at the back of the bay is as far as you can go so don’t overhang the back of your van to fit in at the front. Immediately after I was told this I followed the guy & cars and sprinter type vans were overhanging the lines at the front & the cobbles, yet he didn’t ticket them!

  • 1/5

Traffic wardens ticketing for hanging over the brick wall.... We challenged her saying she hadn't ticketed the cars doing the same, so she went back to ticket them and move people on.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay with fantastic views of the pier and bay and plenty of parking spaces. CCTV monitored for peace of mind and toilets available at 30p. parking charges apply £10 for 24hrs or 18:00 - 08:00 at £4

  • 3/5

Ideal for smaller vehicles we had to move because overlapped the parking space but gorgeous view

  • 5/5

Stayed here with no issues whatsoever. Great sunrise too!

  • 1/5

Beware the parking wardens. 25cm over the wall at the front and similar at the back . The council give mixed messages encouraging you to park but unless you’ve a midget CamperVan you’ll get nicked

  • 5/5

What a gem, beautiful sea views. Friendly helpful parking warden and useful parking app. What a shame other councils are not so forward thinking and welcoming to camper-vans.

  • 5/5

Good for overnight parking if vehicles not much more than 5.4m. We left before 8 to avoid traffic warden as ours is 6m. £4 overnight from 6pm to 8am, press yellow button for night rate.

  • 4/5

Great views and lots of local facilities. pay by the app is easier and cheaper than the machine, £10 for 24 hours. Definitely be back, but can see it will be packed in the summer.

  • 5/5

Stayed a few times here, can have a bit of noise until 11pm but overall pretty quiet. if staying overnight press yellow button on meter before putting money in (£4) spaces a little tight for bigger vans 19feet snug. tickets checked on regular basis. phone parking fee app 5 out of 10, overnight tickets not available at moment on app so have cash. rate this spot highly

  • 4/5

Pretty good place. Arrived around 9pm. Three other campers there. Some noise between 11-12 from what seems to be one car revving and sounding horn, but after that the only noise was from the waves on the shore. I didn’t have change for the parking machine and didn’t want to download the parking app so was away by 7:30am. Would definitely stay here again and bring chance for the machine.

  • 1/5

Traffic wardens fully enforcing the 'wholly in the bay' to avoid being in the roadway even a smidge we pulled forward and over hung the front and she said we were in the 'highway'. She was NOT ticketing cars doing the same. We pointed this out and she started asking them to move.

  • 4/5

Nice place to park overnight but I had to pay for 3 spaces, the guy next to me was within his marked area but his bikes overhung the beachside wall so had to pay for two ! I guess it’s a good thing that parking your motorhome is the worst crime they have to deal with in Paignton ?

  • 5/5

We stayed last night and it was fabulous! We had a chat with the traffic warden and to overcome the parking ticket fine we paid for 2 bays and parked on a diagonal, our van is 7m long! However we parked in a free spot over the road by a park all day and then moved the van after 6pm, when the cost for overnight is £4

  • 1/5

Just parked here today LWB RELAY wheels inside parking box but back overhanging slightly Traffic warden just about to write a ticket when I asked what the problem was. He said any campervan that overhangs the box into the road WILL GET A TICKET!! He said his boss is enforcing this issue now as some very large motorhomes been abusing this spot and sticking well out into the road.

  • 4/5

Fantastic place to stay. toilets open 8am until 9pm. Quiet overnight. beautiful sunrise. BUT chatting to the warden in the morning and despite paying overnight we would have been ticketed if we had not been able to leave. We have a Citreon Relay and measure 6m. Did not overhang the road or the promenade but still slightly over the kerb. Maximum length I would say 5.5m. Warden comes 8am.

  • 5/5

A beautiful spot, plenty of spaces, £10 for 24hrs. Nice coffee shop and toilet facilities close by. Perfect sunrise. Recommend.

  • 1/5

Lovely place to stay , however if your vehicle is out of the parking bay you will get a ticket. Here now been for a walk and came back to a ticket for parking out of bay ,all 4 wheels within the bay but back end overhangs onto a wall between the car park and beach path , 4 out of the 5 mh got tickets.

  • 4/5

Great place to stop if you can fit inside the parking ba y! if your outfit is a bit long forget it..you'll get a parking ticket. torbay council has just changed the rules without posting any notice. Been there today and 2 others got tickets and we along with others were told to move.

  • 1/5

Unfortunately had a choice of a parking ticket or leave as I was too long for the bay. Motorhome next to us had already got a ticket earlier in the day. Such a shame as a perfect spot.

  • 2/5

stayed here august 4 2 nights no probs lovely views handy 4 bars and shops just the sound of the waves to send you asleep recomend

  • 5/5

We’re here in our T4 camper. Stopped for two nights, unplanned trip and went on the basis of the good reviews on this app! We arrived Friday evening and got parked right on the sea front straight away, the bays are good sizes and parking prices are really good at £4 a night, the toilets are clean and well managed, it’s beautiful here on the sea front, would stay all week if we could

  • 5/5

Great spot, worth getting up for the sunrise!

  • 5/5

Superb place to stay. amazing beach, local toilets, reasonable prices.

  • 5/5

Lovely little place to stay. Come down from Southampton & arrived late. Forgot to even get a ticket for parking. A local said they don’t check tickets overnight and to not worry. I guess at your own risk! Recommend. Quiet nights sleep too. Could just hear the waves from the sea.

  • 5/5

Its £4 a night!!!! will let you know later if its noisy but right now all we can hear are the waves ???⛱⛱⛱???

  • 5/5

Great spot. Free toilets and water taps 5 mins walk from north end of esplanade, at Preston Sands.

  • 3/5

Arrived at 8.30pm (24th July 2020), plenty of spaces, £4.00 overnight, 6pm to 8am. Great view of the sea. Close to shops, cafés bars etc. Good place to stop over.

  • 5/5

Had a great day ,parked on the sea front, downloaded the parking app ,which counted down the time we were there ,so only paid for what we needed ,just remember change for toilets 30p

  • 5/5

Lovely spot for over night stay, few steps away from the beach. Few motorhomes and other campers here. It’s £4 pay and display from 6pm to 8am. Only problem we had was the Fast and furious teenagers racing around till 12:30am. Still had a good night sleep.

  • 5/5

    Amazing

  • 5/5

Nice location, nice big grass area too if you have a dog, the price has now gone up to £4 for over night parking, always a few campers about during summer
