Very welcoming owners. Beautiful walk down to the beach. My 2 young boys were also very excited to be invited in to see some of the lambs that had been born. 7.5m motorhome. We will come back for sure.

  • 5/5

Great campsite, only a small place but everything you need, Elsan, EHU, loads of hot water and spotless toilets and shower block, the view is out to sea over a field. Now for the best bit, the owner is a superstar, very very helpful, nothing is a problem to Paul. Hope to return next time we are up North.

  • 5/5

Great stay here. Easy to find. EHU £30 for one night. Showers, toilets, washing up facilities. no hot water for washing up though - not a major issue. Great hosts, very helpful and we were lucky enough to see some lambs being born in the morning. By the road, although didn’t cause any issues sleeping. Nice walk to the beach. Highland cows in field opposite.

  • 5/5

this site was easy to find and had hardstanding, the owners were very friendly, the road noise was minimal during the night, dogs we welcome but had to be on a lead when on site, the beach was a short walk some of the fields were a bit soft when we were there, in March 2024, the toilets were very clean, the showers were hot, all in all a nice little site, we paid £30 a night,

Nice little stop over. hot showers. clean. Great walk down to the beach.. Great owner who is very accommodating and helpful deffo on the stop over list. if l

  • 2/5

Disappointed as thought this would be a good spot to call by and use their facilities in the morning as advertised, but un-manned when we arrived and upon calling the number was told everything would be switched off until 4pm.

  • 4/5

Lovely little stop over. Clean and well maintained site - lovely views, lovely owner - noisy road but the view makes up for it. It has everything you need for a stop over.

  • 4/5

El lugar tiene unos sitios geniales para dormir, pero solo dejan vaciar aguas grises y negras si te quedas dentro. Ya no se puede pagar solo por vaciado y llenado

  • 5/5

Great value and well kept campsite. Hot shower available and electric hookup. Owner Paul makes the site, taking time out to chat with the kids, even got a ride of a quad bike and fed the lamb some milk!! We will definitely be returning. Also pumped our flat tyre up before we headed to garage to get fixed. Thanks Paul see you again

  • 5/5

Lovely owner and very clean toilets and hot shower. Close to road but we didn’t lose any sleep because of it. Drinking water and electric available. Close to beach for dog walk

  • 5/5

Lovely little site. Approx 8 electric pitches. Clean facilities and nice owner. Road noise didn’t bother us. Can see the sea and not far to walk to the beach

  • 5/5

Such a nice accommodating owner, was very flexible with check-in times, and even offered us a reduced rate for arriving late - we were happy to pay full price regardless. Small site, but had everything we needed, and looks as though owner is constantly updating. Clean facilities, and perfect location for our Morning ferry to Orkney. Owner even let us see his new born lambs.

  • 4/5

Basic, clean, friendly staff. Main road during the night quite

  • 5/5

Very nice and very clean campsite with a very friendly owner! £20 for two without electric hook up for the night. Bargain! 5 minute walk from the beach. We phoned up at 20:15 and we booked in at 20:30. He was very happy to welcome us on! 10/10 would recommend! Hardly any midges compared to dunnets head area!

  • 5/5

Clean facilities, very nice owner. Great view over the sea, which means that it can be windy, as expected along the north coast of Scotland.

  • 3/5

Nice hot showers, grey/black waste disposal and drinking water. Beautiful view but it was so noisy from the road and wind which I really think should be considered in the price. £25 May 22. Hook up and services included which is reasonable but there are others in better locations for same sort of price...

  • 5/5

Amazing little place, owner was very friendly and accommodating, recommend:)

  • 5/5

found this camper site on here after going to one a little before that turned out stupidly expensive !! the owners were amazing very friendly and helpful ( even took us in to see their new born lambs) site was more than good enough for what we wanted/needed at a very good price, highly recommended!

  • 4/5

Stayed here for a night in order to hookup so we could dry everything off. Facilities were all very good and we got to see the newborn lambs

  • 5/5

Clean and good facilities. Very friendly owner who showed us around and chatted to us for a while. £15 for the 2 of us without electric. Cars go past quite regularly, but not really noisy as some people have commented. Perfect stopover before our ferry to the Orkney and Shetland islands!

  • 4/5

Friendly couple, & waste disposal if you use the site. We got charged £20 though, we used it as the other car parks nearby had no camping signs up & we had the kids with us.

  • 4/5

Great drop in site while navigating the NC500. It was getting dark when we pulled away from Dunnet Head and we didn't fancy trekking round looking for a wild camp so we pulled in on the way past as we could see he had available pitches.

  • 4/5

Owner very nice, clean toilet. There was no electricity but he managed to get some for us. Only con is it’s quite noisy with all the cars going by.

  • 1/5

Visited to use facilities. Owner informed us facilities are no longer available to non staying guests. Apparently this has been the case for 3 months, although there's a comment from June saying they used the facilities!

  • 5/5

Date 16/07/2021 highly recommend this site For a stop over when doing the NC 500 owner is very helpful we had a problem with our water pipe and he went into the local town and pick me up a new length of pipe

  • 3/5

Ok site. On side of a busy fast road so a bit noisy. £16.50 for 2 adults no elec. facilities basic. Cracking little beach about a half mile walk away. Lovely owner.

  • 5/5

Called ahead at short notice, lovely to guy Paul dealt with my enquiry, got a space OK, very accommodating and cracking personality, very down to earth. Cracking well kept place & all facilities too, enough space for our 6 berth motorhome, I'd give money 1st to this place before the big unhelpful sites I been on, defo give this a try for a relaxing night and spotless place.

  • 5/5

We only stopped to refill water, empty and take a nice warm shower! Really nice and helpful staff. Place is clean and lovely located near to the beach and walks along cliffs.

  • 4/5

Hadn’t booked a pitch but turned up in the motorhome and the owner quickly came to meet us and give us a spot with EHU. £20 for the night. Really friendly guy. Shame its so close to the road as it is a bit noisy. But all good nonetheless.

  • 5/5

Great site, owner was really friendly and couldn’t help us enough, it had the basic facilities but what else do you need?, toilets and shower where spotless, I’d book ahead though as it had a limited amount of pitches

  • 2/5

Although the site is compact, well laid out and the owner is friendly I found it too noisy next to a main road with vehicles driving past till late at night. So I wouldn’t be keen to stay here again. Also this is a campsite not a Motorhome car park / aire which charges by the van. So if you have kids it costs more than £15 which is the charge just for a Motorhome and 2 adults - so pretty reasonable. Younger kids cost £2 and older kids cost £5. We paid £25 for a family of 5 Though electric hookup is £5 more. The website does not explain the costs per person.

  • 1/5

Gave one star as not possible to give no stars, called in to use services as are allowed to do as club members, phoned the number as suggested and first question was “have we been wild camping?” Told the guy no but was refused service as people keep filling his sewer waste up, asked if we could just pay for water and was told no as it was alll locked up and he wasn’t there, two caravans on the site so I supposed they had to wait for his return to get water or dump their waste? Will be reporting this site to the club, avoid at all costs.

Stayed here for a night at the beginning of July. Paul, the owner was very helpful, friendly and accommodating, top bloke. No showers or toilets in use at the time but you were able to stay if self sufficient, £20 with electric. Small campsite with limited spaces (hard standing but mainly grass) so worth phoning ahead before turning up, we were lucky as drove past it on the way in to Thurso and it was all still relatively quiet back then. Lovely walk down to the beach, about 20 mins away, great to wear out the dogs! Wonderful sunset at night too. Disposed of waste water/chemical waste before leaving and topped up with fresh water which was readily available. This was the only campsite we stayed on during our NC500 trip and so glad we did. Thank you Paul!

Nice little caravan park with a very helpful and friendly owner. Normal prices and everybody’s welcome. If it looks closed, just call the number on the building, owner lives around the corner.
