The "No Overnight Camping" signs only appear opposite the residences along the Esplanade. They are not there at the South end towards the yacht club. Currently portaloos as public toilets.

No overnight camping permitted now :-(

Great spot along the street parking, went almost all the way to the sailing club on the corner. Few cars driving past every few mins but nothing too loud.

Nice and quiet no issues stayed one night but saw others stay more. Nice walks down the beach. Had the local running club out and the odd person driving past but nothing to cause concern.

Been coming here for years, its quite safe. It can be a bit noisy, few joyriders etc, but fgs, its free! Its in a minority where u wont get harrassed, i believe the council & locals appreciate the custom that all different customers can bring. Please just leave it clean & tidy, pickup your dog poop up & dont cause a nuisance.aa Enjoy this beautiful place.

Stayed one night in my micro camper. There are 'no overnight camping' signs on this road where the parking is opposite residential accommodation, but these signs don't appear opposite the grass banking. The toilet on the promenade closed at 6pm and reopened at 6am. As others have said, very noisy traffic up until about 9pm after which it quietened down considerably (and this was a Saturday night)

We stayed here for one night in our camper van. We have a large crafter van and there was more than enough room. There were a couple of other vans and motorhomes next to us which always helps to make you feel safe. No noise and was very peaceful. Parked next to the sea right at the end by the harbour turn round point. Only downfall is dogs are not allowed on beach certain points of year.

By water, stayed towards end of dead end road near the sailing club with 3 other motor homes and 2 vans, past signs saying no overnight parking. No trouble at all. Toilets open seemingly all hours very nearby. Only negative - cars with loud exhausts zooming by to turn around throughout night (was a Saturday though).

Stayed one night here at the far end of the road by the Marine Club along with 3 other campers, with no problems at all. All other sections say 'no overnight camping'. Used public toilets by the cafe opposite the B&M superstore.

Stayed on a Friday Night- there were two other vans further down from us. Not to busy. We headed almost to the top of the road by the sailing club; only the odd car drove by. Lovely to be able to walk across the beach in the morning. Found long vehicle parking (6ish spaces) in the car park to the right of the B&m store which is great during the day if staying in the area too.

Stayed for one night - few boy racer but other than that quiet and close to toilets

The parking is along a dead end road with a grass verge before a nice view of the sea. there was however a lot of traffic despite being a dead end road and it was windy along there. we also got the kid racers pulling up and beeping their horns which wasn't great

We followed the advice here parked up read the signs walked along the beach spoke to people and found out this site is NOT suitable for Van's over 4.5m it's also not suitable for anyone with dogs during the summer months. Beaches 2 and 3 can be used by dogs after 30th September and prior to april. Though I wouldn't bother as there's a perfectly good beach for dogs north of the esplanade.

Not a bad spot but boy racers on Saturday night including someone who pulled right in front of the van at 4.30am with their music blasting out. Not great for a light sleeper.

It’s is exactly what it says on tin...on road parking by the beach. View was beautiful both sunset and sunrise. Quite a lot of traffic overnight which did make the van rock a little as so close. Some noise from small groups walking along the seafront but not overly intrusive. No amenities close by, we didn’t venture into the town or arcade due to the rain but was great for a cheap overnight stop

Stayed on a Friday night arrived around 8pm away again by 8am, 2 other vans stayed too, no issues, sheltered from the Wind, some noisy traffic and dog walkers.

    Stayed overnight. No problems.

Great place to set up for the day, nice grassy areas the further you go down. We didn’t stay for the night but will definitely be back to give it a go!

Stayed here one night. We arrived by half past seven at night and most shops where closed. The town felt a bit unsave and also the traffic on the Esplanade. Only night we ever felt a bit uncomfortable / unsave. Hard facts: Had a rather quiet night, with some traffic early morning. No one bothered us.
