Lovely car park, very slightly sloped. Dead quiet, peaceful and out the way. the walk to the Foss waterfall is great and a tea room is available when you get to it. It was open 10-4 on our visit. No signal at all down there. Got very busy with public walkers and dog walkers when we was there (weekend) so please be considerate to others to keep this lovely spot available.

  • 5/5

Quiet and peaceful car park, sheep roaming freely but no trouble at all. Dog walkers who use the car park are all very friendly. No phone signal, no bins or facilities, just a lovely little river running by.

  • 5/5

Very quiet, just a couple of other vans. Flat surface, absolutely no phone reception at all on o2. Handy for visiting Falling Foss.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay for a night. Very peaceful and scenic.

  • 5/5

Really lovely spot, so far down a country lane that you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by beautiful walks. Felt very safe staying there. I stayed in my caddy, there was another motor home there and another that turned up during the night. Best nights sleep I’ve had in ages. So so peaceful x

Fabulous stop over, no facilities, amazing woodland walks, a little babbling brook and the waterfall, which gets very busy. Stayed overnight no issues. The lambs were adorable.

  • 4/5

great stop, only 2 other campervan and a few dog walkers. A beautiful spot in the woods. would recommend.

  • 5/5

What a fantastic place. stopped last night, only us from about 6 onwards. wonderful walks and an amazing peaceful night's sleep. few dog walkers in morn but everyone pleasant. will stop again. Shame I can only give it 5 stars

Lovely location. Was quite popular with other campers, even at the end of October. Nice short walk to a nearby waterfall. Very scenic but zero signal. Decent size car park.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay. Arrived around 8pm and already a few other motor homes set up for the night. Quiet location with no passing traffic. No facilities but the scenery and riverside location make up for it. Car park fills early with walkers but this didn’t create an issue. Had a really good nights sleep and would stay here again.

Arrived after dark, very quiet. woke up to a lovely setting, a short walk downstream to a tea room and cascading waterfall (Falling Foss) go a bit further and find a "Hermitage" and a somewhat slippy route to the bottom of the waterfall. (only for the nimble)

  • 5/5

A really really beautiful spot with lots of space. The walks around it are beautiful and the view on the drive down was incredible. Good mushroom spot too!

  • 5/5

Free car parked great spot for night very quiet next to a morning call Pat was full with cars

  • 4/5

Good for a short stay. Really busy by 9:30am and had a few local scallies drive down during the evening. Couple of other campers, after half 11 no one disturbed us. Would go back. Arrive late, leave early, and leave no trace. Keep it nice for others. Spent 2 mins and half filled a bin bag of others waste

Perfect. Had the place to ourselves from 8pm. No phone reception but brilliant walks and so quiet. Thank you for sharing.

  • 3/5

Quiet free overnight site beside a stream, good parking, lovely forest walk leading to a quaint cafe beside a waterfall named Tumbling Beck.

  • 5/5

Great spot with really nice walks. Falling Foss waterfall and tearoom definitely worth a visit

  • 5/5

Great little spot, plenty of room for lots of vehicles. Very quiet on the night. We had our little campfire going. Remember to take away your rubbish

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay, we parked up at the end of the carpark backed in facing the stream. Only one other van, sheep roaming free and plenty of walks. The Foss Falls is down the river, there's also a few rope swings and good places to get in the water.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot with a small stream and sheep roaming freely! Large car park - there were 4 other campers when we stayed but plenty of space. Off the road so good for kids to run round, the only sign is saying dogs must be kept on leads because of the sheep. Would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay. we parked right next to the river. Only 3 others stayed. Great walks

  • 5/5

Very nice location. We were the only campervan there. Due to it being down hills it went cold quote quickly but I can imagine it'll be much nicer in the summer. The river was very nice and there was walks around, too. Be careful if you've got dogs as you're in a field of sheep. They walked around us. The carpark started getting cars around 9am with walkers. We'd definitely go back.

Arrived 8pm, had the place to myself until 8.30am the next morning when walkers and runners started arriving. Lovely quiet spot! Just to add - I had no phone signal while there but that wasn't an issue for someone like me who loves to switch off from the world!

  • 5/5

What a fantastic spot! We arrived early evening and got the best spot, at the bottom of the car park, next to the stream. From 8pm until 8am we had the place to ourselves....unbelievable for a sunny Friday evening! We took away some litter left by others (non-campers) so hopefully that'll help keep Forestry England sweet.

  • 5/5

Beautiful quiet, sheltered spot by the stream. Nice walk through woodland to Falling Foss Waterfall.

  • 5/5

Great spot! I was here for one night, very quiet, surrounded by nature. No facilities.

  • 4/5

A popular spot for walkers as it’s on the coast to coast long distance footpath, Access via single track road with passing places. Car park can be very busy during daytime.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot with babbling stream and lots of walking trails. Only stayed one night & only one other family camping beside us. Would definitely go back.

  • 3/5

Lovely, quiet, out the way spot. One other motorhome there. Rating 3 stars as couldn’t stay due to number of midges! (July). Will be back another time!

  • 4/5

Stayed for one night. Very quiet. No toilet or bins. No phone signal. Very bumpy entering car park.

  • 5/5

As described except no midges in October. Dog walkers arrived about 9am

  • 5/5

Beautiful quiet spot, stayed here beginning of sept on a Friday night, I was the only camper. Can get busy in the morning with dog walkers, joggers , cyclists, although all were friendly and no one seemed to mind.

  • 5/5

    Great quiet spot for camping.

  • 4/5

Great spot by the river. I was the only camper, quiet and surrounded by trees.
