As previously described, 5 minutes from A66, few cars at night but calmed down from 11pm. Very peaceful stopover.

Lay-by next to woodland, fields other side. Stayed beginning of may. Fairly level, slightly inclined past gate to woodland. Quiet at night, and not hugely busy during day. Bridle way walk to Barnard castle. Returned to stay 2 nights running, no one else there. Woodland lovely and peaceful, had my morning coffee there overlooking farmland beyond. Room for 4 vans comfortably,

Good 4G and far enough from the roadway that you’re not shaken by the few passing vehicles. On a slight slope and a bit uneven. It’s clean and incredibly quiet here overnight; I wasn’t woken once by any passing vehicles between 22:30 and 05:30, and by 07:00 there was still only an occasional vehicle, so highly recommended for an overnight stop to break a journey.

Overnight stop: Pleasant sheltered position with access to bridleway that leads to a fairly well trodden walk along the river to Egglestone Abbey and Barnard Castle. Road became quieter later in the evening.

Quiet at night. Perfect for a sleep stop.

Good spot, stopped for a couple of hours sleep whilst journeying home, nice and quiet, quite afew pot holes but wouldn’t have been a problem if we had pulled up with some day light!

Very nice spot with the road being quiet. Shelter from the trees on one side with plenty of space from the road

We don't usually stay in laybys if we can avoid it but could barely get signal anywhere else in the area for work. It was actually really good - stayed two nights, one with a lorry and another we were alone. Bridleways path is very overgrown but there is a footpath along the beck to the local abbey ruins just down the hill on the right. Also a footpath opposite that going left through fields.

Stayed for a night. Road is not busy at all. Slept great.

Great place for a night stay and almost out of the way. If by any chance you have a dog with you there is a Bridal Way next to the parking.
