nice stop over nice food at a fare price.they do like you to phone and book as they're popular

What a place, free park up with access to toilets. Went in and asked if it was ok to park, asked how it worked. Told park up and it is up to you whether you want to have a drink in the bar or have a meal. We had dinner and breakfast both which were excellent and reasonable prices. If you are planning to use it at the weekend you are encouraged to phone in advance as it is becoming very popular.

stayed last night, good food in the pub at reasonable price. small car park, but only van there, quiet night until 5am when staff started arriving next door.

Stayed 1 night, November 2023. Flat car park, not huge, but no trouble parking mid-week. Pub is very nice, with good food and very friendly staff. Called ahead, but not needed. Dog owners be aware - nowhere obvious for dog walking.

Easy to find, approachable staff. We were only Campervan here, car park and pub were very busy but we felt welcome. As for the food well, it was 100% perfect. tasty, generous portions and not expensive. Will be back

Nice little pub a very friendly staff. Spoke to owner on arrival and bought done drinks and evening meal. food was very nice and not too expensive. Close to road and I thought it would be noisy but wasn't. Nice location and worth a visit if in the area. Town was very nice and worth a walk into local area if you have time. a good 4.5 but can only give a 4 or 5.

Really welcoming reception and fantastic food. We were here on a Tuesday in early February and there was only 1 other campervan in the car park. Highly recommended and an ideal stopover

We stayed here Friday 14/4/22. Really nice place, the food was spot on and the bar and atmosphere was really good, they also serve breakfast and it's a decent breakfast too. We called ahead to check for over night stay and everything was good. Would stay again and would recommend. Great place if you're touring the north.

Tried staying there tonight (Sunday 30th Jan ‘22). Pulled in at about 5pm for dinner and drinks, only to be told they’d just stopped serving meals, even though there wasn’t a soul in the place. Atmosphere was grim, signal terrible and well, just not what we were expecting, so we left to find somewhere cosier.

We stayed over on sat night. Plenty of spaces. Level parking. Popped in after tea for pudding and a few drinks. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Children 8&6 were welcomed. Road was unnoticeable overnight. Breakfast available if you want it-rooms in pub and small caravan park out at the back. Excellent overnight close to town.

Absolutely fantastic stay here the staff are amazing the food is fantastic, lovely and quiet obviously there is car noise from the road but didn’t bother us , food is well priced each of our meals were £10 each well worth a stop off we arrived 8pm Ish Saturday evening didn’t ring ahead and there were 4 other vans on the car park, will definitely stay again .

Lovely meal and staff (not cheap though). Just down the road there is the £4 per night car park at Morrison’s

Had a lovely meal Friday night COVID compliant early bird menu up to 7.30pm value for money.Asked if we could leave motorhome in car park Saturday morning for a couple of hours whilst we walked into town, no problem will definately go back.

Was closed for refurbishment call ahead to avoid disappointment. There is a car park at the Abby just outside town we used instead was lovely.

Great local place, the family that run it are very nice and welcoming. No need to phone ahead, just pop in and ask if it’s ok to stay. They do breakfast which is really good, we paid £5.50 each, which we were happy to pay for since we got to park for free.

Great place to stay only a 10minute walk from the town centre so offers a quiet stay even at the weekend. The staff at this inn are very welcoming. No need to contact before arrival. The large car park is seldom at capacity. The Inn also offers 6 rooms for rent and a self contained cottage for rent. We stayed on a Friday night and enjoyed a filling cooked breakfast on the Saturday (served between 7.30 am and 11.30am) incl hot and cold drinks for a mere £4. Unbelievable value for money. Toilets are at the entrance so no need to enter the pub all the time. Goes without saying that the pub would welcome your custom in exchange for the excellent facilities. There’s a petrol station at the end of the road and a co op nearby.
