Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Excellent views, peace and quiet. Had great walk to Wadebridge from.the campsite. Will come again! un

We just had another great two night visit to this site. It’s absolutely perfect for us, quiet, cheap, water & elsan point. Loads of fantastic walks straight from the site. Make sure you have cash.

Absolutely gorgeous little spot. About 10 min drive to Matlock. Stunning views, peaceful location. Fresh running water and a grey water disposal (about 15m along the stone wall on the left-hand side if you stand facing the field from the gate). We ended staying 4 nights and could happily have stayed longer. Would definitely return again.

Enjoyable spot and super quiet. Farmer is easily contactable and cash payment is easy. No bank transfers taken. Advise getting there early to level out during daylight. Would visit again!

Very nice spot with a lot of space. Nice surroundings for walks.

Stayed 2 nights, really peaceful location with nice walks around the area. fresh spring water on tap! for just £6 a night we will definitely be coming back!

stayed one night, didn't meet the farmer but easy to find and access, it was getting dark so waited until morning to find the box, across the road at the farmhouse door, pleasant stay with some sheep In the field too

Beautiful little spot, great price! We stayed here for one night and there was only one other camper there. Did not see grey waste disposal but there is a tap for drinking water. Lovely 7 minute walk down to the pub, you have to go through the churchyard to get there (not accessed through Church Farm, but through the farm next door!). Lots of walkers coming by so park on the right as you enter.

As others have said, fab spot. Recommend coming in via A615, esp larger van/motorhomes. There is a nice short walk past the church and through a wood to The Jug & Glass for a decent pint and food. We will also be back.

  • 5/5

Excellent little spot! We pulled straight into the field and paid £6 up at the farm, in the little trust box. We saw the farmer and he couldn’t have been more welcoming. So quiet & peaceful with amazing scenery. Took the dogs for a walk down past the old church and to the stream and back. Loved it! We will be back!

What an amazing find for our next few nights stay! Church Farm, Dethick Lane, Matlock. Absolutely lovely spot to stay. Ample space for numerous motor homes, vans, traveler’s. Land has a gentle slope with fresh spring water available. Surrounded by green rolling fields & cattle. Indulged in so much piece & quiet! Living the dream.

Fantastic place to stay the night, quiet with beautiful views. Slightly sloping but found a level spot. Fresh water and waste in the wall to the left. Honesty box up at the farm across the road. Just let yourself in and pop over with £6. We loved it so much we changed our plans to come back for a second night. Wish there were more places like this.

Still open. Friendly farmer. Walk down to Church..behind right hand gatepost of Manor Farm is key to beautiful Church.Such honesty and trust is refreshing.

  • 5/5

Excellent little plot! Really easy to get in the gate and has a fresh water point at the top of the field. I paid first thing in the morning. £6 for the night which can be paid at the farm yard by the front door.

Beautiful camping on an idyllic field surrounded by sheep. 2 other campers, very quiet at night. Some walkers in the morning crossing the field. Easy and uncomplicated paying in the trustbox at the door from the chirchfarm opposite, 6£. Watertap and water disposal. No toilet, shower or bin.

  • 5/5

Stayed here later night, 2 other vans on the field too. Arrived late afternoon and found a level spot against the wall on the left hand side of the field. Paid £6 the next morning at the farm house door across the road on the right hand side. Fresh water taps also available on the field.

Great spot for £5 plus vat (£6) a night. The field is un even but we’ve found a flat spot.

Stayed here last night, just opened the gate and pulled on, left money in honesty box. only 4 others on the field. was lovley peaceful and clean. Will visit again

  • 5/5

Perfect stopover for campervans if you want to visit the Peaks. Ramps necessary on most of the site. No hardstanding, but well mown lawn. Mick will come around to collect the fees, if not use the honesty box.

  • 5/5

Excellent Campsite. Beautiful views. didn't see the owner but there is a honesty box right by the from door of the farm house. only 2 other people in the field. has a drinking water tap we filled our bottles up with before moving on. would definitely visit again.

The campsite is still very much open, not sure what the people in the previous comment mean. Arrived early evening, beautiful and peaceful, only three of us on the field. However be aware next morning lots of walkers coming through. They all head for the gap between the fields top left corner of the field. Unfortunately we didn't realise and parked near there, people walked close to the van!

This place has now closed. the owners have sold the land.

  • 5/5

Really lovely place, peaceful, and a beautiful sunset over the fields. However we couldn’t find an honesty box or somewhere to leave any money!

  • 5/5

Amazing little place, need more like this, cheap and all services you need, would say levelling blocks are required though

  • 5/5

Great site, in a lovely quiet area. We walked up to the farm on the opposite side of the road and left the money in the honesty box at the door. Lovely walks nearby. What’s not to like!

  • 5/5

Perfectly peaceful and had the place to ourselves! The roads leading to here are quite narrow so word of caution for those that drive larger motorhomes I guess.

  • 4/5

Stayed the night 18-8-19 lovely views and very quiet
