Quel endroit fantastique !!!

What a fantastic spot!!! The actual parking area is the next left a little way past where the post code takes you and down that hill about half a mile but you literally can’t miss it off that road and it’ll be on your right. Upper and lower parking areas and enough space for easily 16 vans/MHs. The turn off the road would be impossible for MHs but there is a turn spot 100 yards past the car park and you can enter from that direction. Surrounded by nature and pitch black and completely silent at night. Signal on Three Network. Bins but no other amenities.

Nice and quiet from 11pm onwards. no phone signal on ee, I would stay again if in the area. there are some lovely walks from the car park.

Great place to stop but very busy during the day and no signal on o2. so unfortunately we didn't stay overnight here. No signs to say no overnight parking

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot! Surrounded by nature and I was the only one here from 8pm till 6:30am the next morning. Pitch black at night and only the sound of birds can be heard. Especially amazing spot if you’re like me and have a dog with you as there are various walks leading from the car park. Others have said no or weak signal but I have good signal on the Three Network. Will definitely be back here!!!

Really quiet night after 10pm when a couple of cars left. Very dark on the car park. A few dog walkers arrived from 7am but didn't disturb me. Sign at the entrance says read the back of the sign for terms and conditions. Dark when I arrived but checked the sign in the morning and it says no parking of conveyances from sunset to sunrise. Ford on the road tricky for larger vehicles

Perfect spot, quiet NT car park, no signs forbidding overnight camping, we arrived late and had it all to ourselves. Just 15 mins off M6. Few friendly dog walkers in the morning. Gorgeous dog walks in the surrounding NT Park. Highly recommended.

great spot, very quiet at night, dog walkers in the morning, grat walks around, weak internet signal, coffe shop and ice cream, plenty picnic areas, great location

    Bel endroit très calme.

Stay 1 night, very peaceful. Just us and one other in the far left car park as suggested earlier. The right hand side gets busy with dog walkers. Had a nice walk around Downs Bank the next day.

We stayed here overnight on the 4th May 2023 and parked up in the car park on the far left as you enter the parking area. We had a very quiet night indeed so would highly recommend, as the only cars which turned up in the morning remained in the right side car park and didn't disturb us at all. Nice and flat, with the only problem being a poor mobile signal.

  • 3/5

The comments about dog walkers turning up from around 03:00 is 100% correct, this was the busiest over night park up I have ever had. The most flat spots are on the right and directly ahead as you drive in. Several vehicles arrived at pub closing time and the fast food wrappers were visible the next morning.

Lovely stopover plenty of room. very quite till dog walkers arrived at about 6. Close to M6 will definitely cone again. Nice coffee shop walking distance by the Ford.

  • 5/5

We stopped here to cook supper and walk our dog while travelling from the Peak District to M6. It was 15min from the motorway and ideal for what we wanted.

Nice spot good for kids/dogs as right in the woods loads of areas to park in two parking sport. But very poor phone signal know it’s a 1sr world problem but I stay over as I’m working on my own not boring no 4g go watch anything. Dog walker showed up at 03:30am on a Sunday dogs making loads of noise and she was shouting at them .

A big and flat spot with plenty of space for a lot of vans. However a lot of comings and going throughout the night - perhaps cars just turning around - and a lot of dog walkers appearing from early in the morning. No mobile phone service on O2.

Very quiet, peaceful, beautiful spot, access across a ford, so wouldn’t be passable after heavy rain. Arrived late and left early, 6 am so not to annoy the locals. Let’s keep this one.

Arrive late on a week day, fantastic night; no one else there and quiet for most of the morning. Good amount of space, lovely surrounding area with picnics and walks. May be busy on a weekend but highly recommend.

it was super spooky so qe didn't stay as kids watch too many horror films ha ha Brilkiant place though, secluded, loads of space, free, easy to find

Arrived 6pm and no one there. lovely woodland parkup. Around 9.30pm some cars turned up ( yound lads I think) . Then 3AM we were woke by a van turning up to walk dogs. Again the same at 4am. By 7.30am the car park was full of walkers and dogs. No services or mobile, no bins . Lovely walks and worth a night stay. It seems a very popular place. Everyone was friendly and no problems.

Great place to stay, very quiet! Lovely place to stretch your legs with great views of the sunset and surrounding area. Although there are no bins it is still very clean and tidy. Would stay here again.

  • 4/5

Great place, very nice, quite. Just low mobile signal.

  • 5/5

Stayed one night . Apart from the dog walkers we were the only ones in a camper. quiet night beautiful walks and great free parking

  • 1/5

Accès compliqué, routes étroites, risque de rayures du camping car avec les branches. Avons passé un petit ruisseau qui coupait la route. Pas d'indication. Avons passé notre chemin.

  • 2/5

This is a nice place. Stayed a couple of nights after reading reviews. Lots of coming and goings, didn't really bother us as we kept to ourselves. young men thought it was funny to harass us tooting their horns knocking on our van in the middle of the night. We had two small children in tow so for us this was very frightening. We had to leave at 2.30am as we were too afraid to stay.

  • 3/5

Careful with directions - one of the roads leading to this goes through a business park which is closed after a certain time.

  • 5/5

Stayed 1 night. Lots of dog walkers until around 6pm then it quietens down. Slept well. You can hear the cows now and again and there are chickens and a rooster that will attempt to wake you with his morning call but I’d rather that than traffic noise and sirens! Recommended!
