Warning sign only applies to first part of road. Does not apply to your right of public access! Please drive slowly, carefully & respectfully, deep pot holes at the latter end of road. Advised to keep dogs on leads at all times due to cliff edge and lack of fencing.

  • 1/5

Do not go. Road has been changed to private road and only permitted vehicles are allowed access. Large sign has been place at road entrance. Do not go.

ok place for a stop. nice monument. lovely cliffs obviously. bike riding, you will get puffed out unless ur lance armstrong ie a cheater. old folk that work in the local post office down the street are exceptionally rude and unwelcoming dont go there for anything, go somewhere else in fact use a delivery company of some sort so the po dont get anything if you need to send something.

    Juste un mot : magique.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Absolutely amazing stay. It is beautiful, quiet, and not to far out of the way. There is a public toilet about 10-15s away, it's a walk down to the beach with nots of beautiful nature and stairs. They are open 8-6pm(or dusk, whichever is later).

  • 5/5

Lovely spot with great views and a nice walk along the cliffs to the pub in St Margaret’s. Met the couple who own the car park area as part of the old coastguard lookout station there. They’re perfectly happy with people staying there as long as you keep it all clean.

  • 5/5

  • 2/5

Nice place but locals have now put up signs stating no access private road which is a shame, they must have got annoyed with traffic passing :( imagine they will petition to council and access will be lost for campers soon entirely. For now it's accessible if you want to feel unwelcomed by the homeowners on the road.

So lovely, comme diraient nos ami.e.s d´outre-manche !

  • 5/5

Great place to overnight 4-5 vans parking got full so we left sharpish. The foreign vans seem to think getting tables and chairs out is deemed ok, I think keeping yourself within your van will be less likely to upset the locals.

  • 5/5

very quiet night lovely view. signal isn't great and my partners phone went into French times. people was very friendly definitely would stay again

  • 5/5

Very beautiful place. Can be very windy. Peaceful at night. The view is magnificant.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot. Great sunset and sunrise. Would recommend a hike down to St. Margarets bay. Please keep the place clean so it remains available :)

  • 5/5

Beautiful place to stay, no trouble and a lovely night sleep. Amazing views and walks! Little phone signal though. Definitely going again!

  • 4/5

Great no hassle location away from the beach with more remote charm. Route up is fine and the road is in reasonable shape .

  • 5/5

We had a good night here. The road is dodgy, but who’s in a hurry? Very windy. France in view (and for a few hours my iphone went over to French time). Lovely walks, long and short, from the car park. Locals friendly. A litter pick as a thank-you tidied the place up.

  • 5/5

Extremely quiet place to sleep, with the most beautiful views in the morning. Noone there except us all night. A few walkers slamming their doors in morning and some barking dogs, but not a peep all night. Will definitely be staying here again.

  • 5/5

Stayed here one night before getting the Euro tunnel to France. Great views, a few nice walks and a little pebble beach further down which had some toilets. A little windy as exposed but wasn’t an issue. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Excellent park up - like a review below, some kids turned up and stayed till midnight but they were quite quiet in all fairness. An excellent location too- could see France as was very clear day I was there :)

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot. Keep going when u get to the uneven track u r nearly there. Great views. One of my favourite park4night spots. Just keep it clean

  • 5/5

Pros - Amazing views - Clean - Good walks Cons - Teens smoking weed till 2am (they didn't bother us though and were not noisy) - Fairly sure there was some dogging at 2am in one car - You have to drive up a private road so keep noise down We did a litter sweep there were loads of boxes from mcdonalds

  • 5/5

Lovely spot to stay, with fantastic views.

  • 5/5

Stopped here for 1 night. Fantastic spot for walking and exploring the area. Day visitors soon slowed and we had the spot to ourselves for a peaceful night. Bit windy overnight but we survived and woke up to a lovely sunset before heading off to explore the area some more. Thanks for showing us this spot.

  • 5/5

Clean quiet and lovely flat spot above the white cliffs. Gorgeous views over the English fields and French coast, some sweet chat with local dog walkers informed me the wee house is/used to be a café where you could rent a room to enjoy that view: the kind of spot I’d want to go back even if I didn’t have to catch a Ferry. Was lucky to catch calm weather, you’d want to check the wind though.

  • 4/5

Great spot for views over to France and sunrises. Noise from Dover port wasn’t very noticeable. Only bins, no facilities. Very quiet when we stayed, completely on our own until early morning. Right on the English Coastal Path and Frontline of Britain Trail so good for walkers. Not a great road up there but passable and don’t be put off by the private road sign.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot with fantastic views and lovely walks. A very starry night when we were there and the sea was so calm with views across to France. Several other vans also there that night but everyone was quiet and respectful. A nice walk down the cliff to the Coastguard pub, which will also let you park in exchange for buying a meal

  • 5/5

Excellent location for the port, peaceful and quiet, spectacular views over to France. Highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Amazing views over to France. No bother and some blackberries for breakfast.

  • 5/5

Excellent spot. No problems. Amazing view. -Choose plant-based foods -Leave NO trace

  • 4/5

Lovely spot with fantastic views. We stayed two nights with no problems. First night just us and one car with a young couple sleeping in the back. Second night there were 8 other vans but was still a quiet night camping and no one bothered us. Very busy during the day. Perfect spot to watch a sunrise.

  • 4/5

Great little spot wasnt bothered by anybody. Right next to a coastal walk as well.

  • 4/5

Windy but fine night! Will use this spot again next time i take the ferry!

  • 4/5

Stopped for one night, very quiet at night but early morning walkers slamming car doors, lovely views of white cliffs, totally free and no restrictions. would stay again.

  • 5/5

Beautiful place even when we were here when it was foggy and windy. Very quiet and calming except a couple of times during the night with noisy teens with a car/music around midnight to 1am. Flat tarmac area so perfect for quick stop and sleep.

  • 5/5

Exactly as the pictures and previous reviews. Amazing views, lovely sunset, quiet overnight and not bothered by anyone. Busy in the morning with walkers from around 8am. The Coastguard Pub down the hill is very cute!

  • 5/5

Pics from initial poster are accurate. went there today and had a lovely walk down the steps to st Margaret's bay. coffee shop doing take away. toilets open. 2 other campers there. lots of room. dog walkers are around. couple of lads in a car having a joint but no hassle. didnt stay the night but would have. Lovely views and walks. quite level at the top also.

  • 4/5

One of the best places to park, they have now tarmacked most of road a lot easier now Also one resident has put a sign up No Motorhome Taken no notice it’s not legal,

  • 5/5

Very quiet place with good views. we spent a night there without any problem.

  • 5/5

Stayed there last night was all alone all night very quiet and amazing views if you go over rails and walk down to beach there is some old war tunnels to explore really like this spot

  • 5/5

One of the best spots on the South Coast. Got chatting to the one other camper overnight, and the night was a silent moonlit view over to France with great sunrise in the morning... immigration/boarder control and police were around in the morning but clearly not bothered by us staying over...

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Lovely view, up a windy track with bad potholes but managed it in the VM. Lovely and quiet, other campers there too. No toilets.

  • 5/5

Awesome place! Very quiet at night. Just dog walkers and another campervan when we were there. Lovely walk along the coast and views of France.

  • 5/5

Lush place. DOG owners beware of cliff edge.

  • 5/5

Great quiet spot, road a little potholey and rough on the way up to the memorial. Lovely views!

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

We arrived very late at night and there was no one else around, we parked up and was lovely and quite, didn’t see anyone in the morning either. Beautiful views in the morning and a nice little walk down the path to the beach and cliffs

I'm local and stay here regularly. nothing here but the monument. DON'T Let dogs off the lead, they go off the cliffs often. will take American RV I know from experience. locals bit funny but turn up after 9pm leave by 8.30 no worries. one night at a time will be fine I haven't had a word said. to be honest. just keep noises down.
